This is more fun than watching the Toasty Bros pretend like anyone can just build a $250 gaming PC at the drop of a hat. It takes time and good auction sniping skills. You are relying on one-off deals to get the price that low.
@@Lurch-Bot yeah pretty much, like I can't take the fact that I managed to get the XFX QICK 308 3x fan model of the 6600 XT in tandem with 32GB (in 2 x 16GB config) Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro (DDR4-3200 CL16) for a grand total of $120. No issues, defects, or cosmetic damage of any kind (just some mild dust build up on the GPU fans). So yeah, one hell of a deal (and one hell of an upgrade for my wife & her 1060 3GB lmao) but it wouldn't be even remotely accurate to say that kind of thing is normal or average for the used market. I just got really lucky, and no they didn't steal the stuff they had proof of purchase. Was just somebody looking for insanely quick transaction & didn't need/want the total value of said parts (I didn't even initially ask for the RAM, he threw it in with the card!)
super stoked cause my work was throwing away a pallet of office pc's, i grabbed all 18 of them and they turned out to be i7 6700's, 1060 3gb, ssd's , 16 gb ram. wowzers it was a come up and now im hooking up coworkers that were still on ps4's
Lucky. My former employer upgraded all their computers recently too. However, one, they insisted all the old systems get shipped back to the CA office for processing, and two, they were Dell Studio Hybrid 140G mini PCs with core 2 duos and 240gb hard disks. I do not feel I missed out. 😎
I love it how you filter every swear word out apart from the time you crack up about cheap CEX ram. :D I really enjoyed this mate - great video! Very informative.
Dude you had me cracking up laughing with that cheap CeX memory😅 Just goes to show that even adults we sometimes have the child in us that just likes to show up ever so often
YES! So awesome to see y'all workin together. I had a feeling y'all would come up with some fun ideas. Maybe this little challenge will be the start of a long lasting love stor... i mean friendship. 😅 As referred to by another commenter, let the new REAL junkyard wars begin!
Thank you for this very informative video, I live in a town where cheap CEX is easily accessible, I will have to check it out some time :D love both of you guys channels and this build off was thoroughly entertaining
This video’s everything a tech vid should be-light hearted, fun, and still interesting/informative. Got me confused in the beginning though, thought my notifications were bugged out gahaha
I have the exact same mllse graphics card, except I have a ryzen 5 4500. it's nothing to be in awe, but nothing to sneeze at either. saved my ass being able to play a lot of current games and it works quite perfectly for my line of work (digital art and whatnot), nothing to complain on my end!
This is one of those "well actually" moments. I've used the same Aerocool Integrator semi modular 750w PSU in a few builds now and it's currently powering a Ryzen 5 5600x and a RTX 3060. According to tier lists and comments it should have blown me up several times over but here it is five years later still working perfectly.
Another great video, although I'd like to point out the pretty funny error you made calling _The Finals_ as _The Rivals_ -- even though it barely matters and I'm just pedantic.
Excellent ! I built a workstation recently using a cheap X99 + e5 2680 v3 / 64gb ecc ddr4 and a second hand Radeon 580. It is really amazing what you get for the money.
Ah yes you are right, pretty much the same in performance. Not sure if you already know but if you buy from the same store & cart totals £135+ you avoid the 20% tax, this has saved me fair bit.@@IcebergTech
I think it's a tie between you and RGHD, I loved both of your videos! I love seeing true budget builds come back from the dead(since GPU shortage and such)!
You did it. Steve used FSR on the games you didn't and still couldn't hit the same frames. The three games you both tested you won in. Some by a decent margin. Congrats!
I appreciate that you both build somewhat well rounded builds, rather than benchmark machines. I guess I would have most likely tried to get a 1150 based system with a i7 4770 or comparable xeon, because I found them to hold up surprisingly well compared to i.E. Ryzen 5 1600, which I tought would be a massive difference. For GPU, I would have aimed at a Vega 64, but the prices for those seem to fluctuate a lot.
The X9 turbo unlock is possible on all mainsttream X99 boards which arent oem. Only issue being you need a USB bios chip rogrammer since FPT cant read or write the bios chip (i know this because my Rampage V extreme had this issue and got the turbo unlock working and runing a 2697v3 at 3.7ghz all core (103mhz blck×36x multiplier)
@@IcebergTechJust double down on it. They just added a singles mode. It's actually tons of fun, I would recommend you check it out more. The destruction is nice.
You know, when he glided over "CEX" the first time early in the video without a beat, I had to do a double take, because I had no idea what he said and I had no idea what I thought I heard him say. Yeah... guess he couldn't hold it in later either. Lol.
I LOOOOOOOVEEEE THISS I've been subbed to RGHD Since 2016 and my god this was SO spot on. I think of you guys as the titans of the low budget spec of computer hardware reviews. KEEP DOING GREAT THINGS!
I’ve recently built an ultrabudget gaming/AI setup with X99 PR9, 2640v3 (turbo unlocked) and Vega 56 that I flashed with 64 bios for some extra boost. I doubt it gets any better in price to performance, really happy with the setup. Not sure if I’d recommend Vega on Windows though, it’s lost support recently and some games run way better on Linux (cp2077 for example). Quad channel also doesn’t give a serious advantage over dual in gaming, it’s like 2-3%.
I have a dell T5500 i bought for £80, i upgraded the CPU to an X5680 6 core for £12, I got a £75 gtx 980 on CEX, and i got 32gb of ram for £15, totalling at 40gb ram. The cost was around £180 ish. I wanna upgrade the GPU to a 2060 though.
Imo for complete systems you should use Escape from tarkov as a benchmark, it heavily taxes cpu and ram while still needing a decent gpu, however the game still looks good at low settings.
14:18 - 14:27 Well, this is awkward
@RandomGaminginHD a bit random, but do you still have that crazy old AMD/ATi race car cooler GPU I think it was a 5750 HD maybe?
See, and now he has the CeX :/ ...
Can we just let the man enjoy his Cex machine?
