    I have a tremendous amount of fear due to years of mental abuse. You're video made so much sense to my brain and I'm a creator of anything I can see. I don't need a pattern and it's truly a gift from God. I'm not fearful there but I am to go out the door or disappoint another soul. I have been watching curves to conquer that part of my creativity, that's what brought me to your video.
    I've become a hoarder of craft and sewing supplies. I've not been able to move past the overflow of supplies so my house is becoming unorganized because I've run out of room. I've been frozen to move forward. I got that light bulb moment that it's fear due to unorganized and failure I can't do it. Add OCD and I've sabotaged myself. Seeing this realization I can do sections at a time to practice and move forward, one crawl at a time. I have multiple sclerosis so fatigue plays a part. Your motivational video gives me permission to be scared but to build one area at a time to get my house back, therefore my life back. Thank you for doing this video and sharing your story, and I'll follow up with my progress. That comment makes me accountable and not just sew and push my fear aside.
    You are changing lives so keep your stories coming and know this 60 year old isn't to old to learn new tricks. Thank you from my soul...

      @chickad5820 Thank you sooo much Babs! Its stories like yours that inspired me to put this video together. I hear soo many people place blocks on themselves or don't have confidence in their ability. I get the fear, I understand the hesitation and these are normal reactions and emotions to have. But your not walking the journey alone...just read some of the other comments because this video struck a nerve for many. Keep advancing one step at a time and just know I and many others are walking right beside you. I know your courage will spark some amazing creations! And if you feel like you fell down, just smile, pick yourself back up and remember we are here for you. Thanks for sharing and can't wait to see where you go from here!

    I was terrified to start quilting. I was afraid of 'wasting' expensive materials and producing something that wasn't perfect. I finally gathered some thrifted materials, a cheap bag of polyester batting, and I made a quilt. And it turned out so well that I kept on, and now I'm confident enough to buy better-quality goods. I had to let go of that perfectionism, and I'm so glad that I did.

      @heidim7732 I know what you mean. It is scary when you know you are working with expensive material. I keep scraps and undesireable fabric around just to test out things...that way I save the good stuff. And sometimes the end result is rather surprising...both good and bad....mostly good. I am glad you conquered your fear and can now enjoy the journey to the fullest. Thanks for sharing!

      @TreasureHeartCreations  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @heidim7732 I know what you mean! It is terrifying trying something when you know the materials are very expensive. While working in a bakery, I had to handle someone's wedding cake...very nerve racking! But practice makes better. To this day, I keep scrap and undesirable fabrics around as use them when I want to do test blocks or are not sure about the construction...good way to use scraps and your less desireable fabric. Thanks for sharing!

    Excellent life skills lesson! My grandson came home from kindergarten all upset because he couldn’t skip. All afternoon his parents worked with him and he was able to learn how to skip to pass his test the next day.

    Eric, this is the most amazing video on many levels! I’m glad you had that teacher. We all have a story like this we’ve hidden in our past. Quilting is a way to conquer fears. We should make a quilt of our “failures”/lessons. And your quilt is so pretty.

      @barbmckinlay5108 Aww thank you soo much! I am glad many like are getting inspired and touched by this video! But here is the question I would pose to you...what would be your quilt of "failures"/lessons?

    • @barbmckinlay5108
      @barbmckinlay5108 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TreasureHeartCreations Eric, they would be blocks like flying geese, wonky log cabins that weren’t supposed to be wonky. Wish I’d kept them and made a wall quilt. P. S- I got my mouth taped shut in third grade for talking too much. Can you imagine doing that these days?

      @cyn4rest Thank you so much! I am glad this video is touching soo many! Sad to say that Mrs Terauchi passed a few years back. However, I was able to say thank you to her some years ago, and we talked about this jump rope incident. She said she always enjoyed teaching and seeing her former students grow into productive adults; that was her reward...sure wasn't the pay. Thanks for watching!

    I enjoyed your inspirational talk today. So much that I looked up the teacher that made a big difference in my life. I, like you, felt like an outsider in the class. We moved every 1-2 years so I was always the new girl. Childhood wasn’t easy for the majority of us. Then theirs that special person who gives us a little lift up. I’m nervous trying to quilt my pieced quilt topper but have been trying small pieces. I will continue to try. Thank you for such a heartfelt video. ❤

      @merrileesmink2579 I am so sorry to hear you had a tough childhood, but glad you eventually found someone to lift you up! Interesting I tried contacting Mrs. Terauchi, but I found out she passed a few years ago. Still, I will always be in debt to her. As she would tell me, one step at a time. If you fall, get back up. Its natural to be nervous about quilting your quilt top; we all go through that. Keep trying and keep making progress. Thanks for sharing!

      @guesswhonancy9028 I am glad you encountered such teachers...even though it was later in high school. Actually (in my opinion) is a very pivitol time when many young adults need good mentors. I am glad they got you out from your shell! Now time to bloom! Thanks for sharing.
