Oh, absolutely. I was like...10 when Americana came out or something, and going and discovering their other albums over the next couple of years only to have Conspiracy of One come out too was absolutely eye-opening.
@@SaulTH-cam-t1u yeah man i saw them live this summer on Resurrection Fest and it was impossible to hear them because the crowd was singing a lot, it was incredible
Love how they maintain their signature sound while also adding new things. Like this song feels like something new in a good way while Light It Up, which is also on their new album, for example sounds like older Offspring songs which is also awesome.
I'm seeing a few diss remarks about this new song, which is sad! The Offspring from 1994 with their genius teen angst songs Come Out and Play AND Self Esteem are NO more!!!! And that's exactly how it should be!!!! They have grown and evolved into adults, and those who want their 1994 sound back are just stuck in the past!!!! This song is right for them, right now!!!! I feel this song is catchy enough, and I see a nice comeback for them!! ❤
@cyn4476 In 1994, as a 30-something going through a divorce, I found myself revisiting my youthful angst in their songs, knowing those times could never come back!!! I embraced it and left it behind!!!! I still enjoy listening to their older music, but just to laugh and reminisce about how crazy I was for them in 1994!!! After all, the past is the past!!!! 😅😅😂😂❤❤
@@nataliacoggins6769 not liking their current stuff doesn't mean people are all "stuck in the past", it means...they like their old stuff better & lament a bit over it lol. I feel exactly the same about Green Day, & these two bands are absolute life changing legends to me. I love them both no matter what. Bands evolve & grow & change, just like people do, and some simply don't like where they go. There's nothing wrong with that. If you like new Offspring stuff, that's awesome. I hope it brings people joy
Yeah but....the purpose of this 'new' song would be to help justify a tour where they make a stack of money performing the 'old' songs for people nostalgic for the past. Even though they are way too old for teen angst songs.
Not to discredit him, but I'm hearing a decent amount of pitch correction/enhancement on his voice these days. If you compare it to his voice a few years back, it's sounds very processed and pristine, which is exactly what real-time vocal effects do. To be fair, he's not the only one, there are tons of major rock and metal bands who use it these days, it makes the vocals tighter in a live mix. Either way, it's a great performance and Dexter is is in way better physical health than a few years ago.
@@ParadiseDB7 actually I do, I’ve used it in the studio with other vocalists and this is kinda what is sounds like. He may or may not be using actual pitch correction live, but I can definitely hear a heavy amount of effects on his voice. It’s very common these days for older bands to do this. I didn’t say it was bad though, I still like this band and they sound good🤘
@@ParadiseDB7 I didn’t say he was a bad singer - he’s not. I said it sounds like he has a ton of vocal enhancement on his voice, which is not uncommon these days.
I love the Offspring, I have for the better part of the last 25 years but I don’t love this song. Personally, I’m glad to see Dexter has lost some weight and his voice sounds the best it has in years. I liked a few other songs I heard off of the album, but I don’t necessarily love the direction this song is heading in. I like their faster more punk flavored stuff but I’m still glad to see that they’re making new music in 2024.
My daughter was a baby when Smash came out. She had a very hard time sleeping. I would have to take her on a car ride around the block, while listening to Self-Esteem. She’d crash every time. To this day at 31, she crashes when she hears The Offspring. That’s probably not good! 😂
Remember how those punk rock bands of the olden days used to be edgy and angsty, but now they've gotten older and softer, and they pretty much write stuff that sounds a lot like children's music? Case in point, The Offspring.
Dex never ages.
good one
well i ve seen him in 2011 and he def had aged .. but he seems to be supercharged...

I know right
Not many bands can say they had 3 separate peaks (Smash, Americana, Rage/Grace), they’re up there with the greats

COO é melhor que Raf
Let the bad times roll is awesome as well
For me Ixnay on the hombre was 👌👌👌
Rage/grace a peak? I've lived every era and The last Peak was around wembley 2001.
Older peeps jumping around in Vans sneakers is my whole vibe.
Legends! What a great performance! 10/10
They still perform well, they’ve still got it! Put them in the right context, like a punk rock festival with the right crowd, and this song 🧨
You didn't see them this Summer ? A lot of festivals in europe

It sounds like All the small things right?!
Sounds very much like Weezer to me.

It's like they think these guys should never have grown up and had lives. Stick them in amber to preserve them in that stage of life.

Quien diria que tiene casi 60 años de verdad los rockstar son vampiros
First Green Day, then Offspring...
Keep reviving the 90s!

Dont forget Blink released an album not long either
