One time I had to play 5 seasons in the minors it was miserable, but once I got to the majors i won a World Series so it worth the wait
Itz Joaquin thats terrible. Every new rtts I make. I'm always in the ML level by June. Hell I was trade by the white sox(would love to see some kind of message of what players were involved when we request a trade or dont) anyways white sox traded me to the Astros. I won 5 straight mvps with them and 4 world series. Lost my first year 2017 to the cubs. Currently on my 10th season and.first with Seattle and I have 1000hrs already. I can't wait to see the animation when I become the hits king
This needs to happen. Having a real MLB draft would be nice, like they do on the MLB network.
I think they need to add is high school, college, rookie ball, short season A ball, low A, high A to add to AA, AAA,MLB

I really like this idea. They need to expand the story to make it more interesting. Keep it up frisk!
NHL 18 Be A Pro is a great example. You have three options, Go to the draft, Play 4 scout games then go to the draft, or play a full season in college before going into the draft. It was the best way to build up your players stats before going into the draft, also the way you played in college would effect your draft pick, from being 134 in the 4th to going top 10 in the 1st. They gave you 12 teams to pick from and you played against other teams you couldn't pick, they also have your teammates being real people on that team with their states and picture. Weird seeing college uniform/Blazer on a player for their picture lol

I completely agree. I would also like to add on that people can't become pitcher/hitters unless they are in the NL. So I think that could be an added feature as well. Great video

I totally agree for years i wanted to voice my opioion to sony and mlb the show i think they should have a couple of games at high school you play you get drafted you have the full 40 rounds and you get a real signing bonus and 2 have real colleges and play like they truly do and lastly have a gcl- ss- low high double and triple and manipulate what they really do in the mlb

I definitely thought the same thing you talked about in this video... but what about adding rookie ball and go up that way? Add Arizona fall league/ A ball (short and full) change the way you get called up, instead of waiting for the star player at your position to retire, get injured or sign with another team to finally get added to the Major league roster, it should be periodic up and down based on player development, 5-10-15 game stats.

2K or EA should consider bringing back college baseball with all of the new graphics, could be something there too for The Show to take maybe 2 or 3 game modes similar to madden's long shot just a college World Series experience gameplay would do wonders

I agree with most of that, but imo if you're getting colleges involved go all out. You can't just have a few colleges, you've got to have them all (at least in D1), because it would get boring just doing a select few colleges that some people might not like. But yeah, if they added high school and colleges, that would be a GREAT addition to RTTS.
It would be dope to use mental bats too. You can rake in high school with a Marucci cat 7 or a Louisville 917
I think they need to add more out of the ballpark experiences like 2k18 and add more cutsenes
I think MLB The Show 18 should give you a more free choice to either enter The Draft or choose a team (like they did before the more interactive RTTS in last year's edition), I also would like to see a feature in RTTS where you can call your agent to let him know if there is something you don't like with your player's current situation and to see if your agent can do anything. More importantly, I think MLB The Show 18's RTTS should also give you the choice to retire at anytime (either immediately or at the end of the season) or in the very least give you the option of how many years you would like your player to play in the bigs.
To some degree, I do agree with the High School and College feature, so you can gain skill points and even build up your player before the next Amateur Showcase.
This might be a bit more of a stretch in terms of licensing and such, but I think it would be dope if you could play overseas or something before coming to the show. Like in Japan or Korea or something. Granted, this would only make sense if your player was born there or went there after a bit of pro ball because that's what normally happens in real life, but I still think it would be cool. Or, you could maybe even start out in the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Venezuela or somewhere else in South America, playing on shitty fields trying to get noticed by MLB scouts. The transition from those fields and that environment to the big show would be such a cool thing to play through, and I don't think we really see that side of the major league journey in the United States since everyone's always following high school and college prospects instead.
I would add: start a couple years back. If you do high school for a 2018 game for example, start high school during the 2015 season or something. Make it so it can almost lineup where your first season in the big leagues, whether as a whole or in the middle, is 2018.
I've been thinking the same idea should be implanted in the game to better experience. Then you get a better sense of what it is like to be scouted and see that you need to do more to improve your spot in the draft

I would love to see them bring in legendary teams like in Mvp Baseball. I think MLB The Show is good, but it lacks some things.

I’d like to see them add some features to make playing in the mlb more entertaining. Once you make it to the bigs, it’s really just playing franchise on player lock. There’s not much that makes it uniquely RTTS

My high school team plays at safeco field so they could add something like that for high school where you play one game and it is like a championship game

I would love no trade clauses, multiple opt outs with big contracts. An actual video coverage thing of the winter meetings like 2k does before every game and at half time.
I want show tracks options for all my homeruns. Had one in an all star game in rtts said it went 618ft over the glove at AT&T park. Which is about 500ft away from home plate
They need to put caps on attributes like in NBA 2k18. It would make the game more realistic as opposed to having a 6’8 280 pound guy who can hit 600 foot home runs and also bunt for a hit and star 80 bases in a season
They should also add class A to road to the show

In baseball you don't choose to enter the draft OR go to college. You get drafted first then decide where you wanna go. Other than that, great ideas.
Not true. The draft is in June. You commit to a college BEFORE the draft. If you get drafted, then you choose. If you go to 4 year college you can't get drafted. If you go community college you can. So your choice is to follow through with draft selection, go CC or go 4 year.
Emmdotfrisk by “then you choose where you wanna go” it means pro ball or college ball. You can get drafted after your junior season or when you turn 21

I would still want to be able to play every game but can see some benefits to a similar style to 2k16 and 17 when playing in HS and/or college
I think they should make a separate game and make it like ncaa and madden football where you can transfer your college player to the pros
If they swapped it out with the showcase it would totally fine by me. But the trek through the minors does need to be a little longer than just two months in most cases
I wouldn't care to play high school or college in RTTS, I mainly just wanna get to the Majors as quick as possible and work on my career numbers, playing in the Minors is more than enough in my opinion. Playing a high school game in RTTS would be like playing an arcade baseball game anyway.
They should definitely add a realistic or sim option. Realistic being that it's harder to make it straight to the pro's after minimum games like before. Instead you would have to work through each level of the minors or even add in College play as well prior to the minors. Making it a true Road To The Show experience. You would then have the sim option which would be just like the current Road To The Show version. Short, quick, and straight to the big leagues.

Great idea. I'd love to play at Louisville and go to a World Series. I remember playing the 06 & 07 college games. A lot of fun. If they made one again today and looked like MLB The Show, I'd be playing both.

They need to make it so you earn Stubbs in your contracts and use them to improve your player. And since you can continue every year make it harder to improve your player.

I think you should play at least 10 games in highschool. Pretty much the playoffs. Then you get drafted on how you did in those games
I say freshmen highschool have like 8 game seasons then go through senior year then have option to play college or get drafted. Do samething in college and then when u get drafted start in rookie ball and work your way up like in real life

I thought they were going that route already when I played mlb the show 15, but then nothing hhappened. It would be cool to have at least the College baseball bit. Also, going through all levels of the minors is something I'd like to do. Just to make it somewhat more realistic. I mean, the mode is called Road to the Show. Would be nice if that Road had more detail/options.
They should make MLB the Show so you have to make a decision so you play 3-5 games and then you have a choice to go to the MLB or go to college and there is like a total of 8 colleges to choose from
I would rather see you work your way from rookie ball or A ball to the show with real minor league stadiums. I'd love to be able to play in hadlock field and I believe 2k had some real minor league stadiums at 1 point so it's do able.
I want NCAA games back. And heck yeah college and hs for sure would be amazing for the overall story and immersion with your player. I'd also love more after you retire like a HOF ceremony and number retirement, etc.
