Very smart lady, she explains everything so well. I was diagnosed with RA last year and praying I don't get the lung disease associated with it. It's great to be able to see videos like these to educate ourselves more about this illness .. Thank you!
I found out at a young age I had juvenile Arthritis but wasn't address..broken bones..When I turn 29 I had very stiff joints and hands feet shoulders, hips knees all bothered me at least 10 hours aday by 35 it was so bad I ended up with lupus , interstitial lung soon after with bronchitis and problems with my throat Chocking..Rib pain so bad..Definitely had alot of depression..mobility was always a problem with 3 young children I love so very much. I now am in my 50s and flares can be so bad today was the worst in months..The pain gets so bad you can't think straight and mentally 😪 it takes another day away. I stay busy but when it is in control you do what you can to ride out the wave again..🙏 my hands feet and spine is so bad..I feet like I'll brake some days and tender. Tendons and ligaments I have to be very careful I have Rift and blown some of them..Thank you for the information 🥰🙏
I would like to know more about Ku antibody that I have. I was told by one of the doctors at the Myositis annual conference that Ku is one of the antibodies they know least about.
My brother died of Dermatomyositis in the early Fall of '61, just shy of his 19th birthday. When he was diagnosed with this horrible disease, my parents were informed there were only three other cases of Dermatomyositis in the world at that time. I think him every day, and the memories of him are still with me some 60+ years later.
He was diagnosed in his early to mid teens; it strikes young people. My parents were told it would take him by his late teens, early twenties. I've never heard of this form of MD striking mature adults. Your dad probably has RA. At that time, Dermatomyositis was related to RA. Actually rheumatoid arthritis is unlike oesteoarthritis, wear and tear and age related. Rheumatoid arthritis, this inflammatory autoimmune disease is NOT age related affecting younger people too. I have to emphasise on that fact.
