I have had a lot of subscribers ask me what Guitar effects pedal I use in my video's, to be honest I'm not a big fan of pedalboards but I do like the Boss ME 70 Multi Effects Processor Guitar Pedalboard
The Boss ME 70 Multi Effects Guitar Pedal is a great all in one, it has a lot off effects as well as a Wah pedal and built in tuner.
So in the video I demo my Boss ME 70, I show what effects I use and demo all the available effects it has to off

After 3 months of searching in sadly the shadiests of neighborhoods and having to get back home really quick since I'm a 17yo girl lol, I'm finally getting the ME-70 tomorrow. Still alive, very happy. 😂
In my opinion this multieffects Boss ME-70is the best of its kind
Agreed 💯 I've tried so many over the years and always come back to the ME70
I used one of these things for 10 years, on tour sometimes, huge stages other times, etc etc = It never failed. It's still such a damn good product.
Getting mine tomorrow! After 9 years of wanting one, I'm finally getting it I'm beyond excited!

Rob The Meat Manifesto yeah the effects boxes are a bargain when comparing it to the individual pedal boards,
+Beeswax 42 most are crap you can tell a good one by how it handles distortion and the boss ones are really good, yeah sod buying all that separately 😂😂

Great demo Rob. Too many people overlook these multi-effects units. They're great creativity tools for exploring tones. I have the ME-25 which I picked up used for cheaps. Great play out at the end of the video btw. Cheers man!

Great demo and first time I've seen this unit. A lot of effects and I'm glad you used the looper effect as I was hoping it had that feature. I may want to buy this pedal based on what I've seen of it today. I'm hoping you can record layers of sound with the looper because then it may seal the deal for me. Thanks!
awesome I highly recommend this set as it has so many effects and they really sound good too, as I said it was the first time I used the loop I will check later on if it does layer.

We still use the ME 70 live! It’s played metal festivals in Europe and the US a decade ago and use it at local gigs now \m/

In an honest opinion - is the quality the same as having pedals?
@@wodenoftheangles3339 I prefer this for gigging because of the simplicity. A separate Dunlop Wah is definitely better for say the studio. We are a live band so we try to keep the live rig as simple as possible while maximizing quality, consistency, and convenience. This works for us but doesn't mean it works for all \m/

This is all I would need for the moment. The thing is when you record your guitars in the box it's all about getting that signal in there as dry and as clean as possible with as little signal to noise ratio as your audio interface can muster. Even latency can be overcome if it's not too distracting. Two separate issues.
When you get your stuff 'in the box' you can do pretty much anything in the world with it these days. Sure, it's hard recording a super clean and dry signal in to the box but you can use FX on your monitor whilst diverting the clean signal on to 'tape' as it were to be recorded. Might get a little extra latency that way as you can't deny the laws of physics and it does take a certain amount of time to process a reverb or delay signal, still. It might be more workable than you think though - you get used to it.
The advantage of having a good clean signal in the box is not to be sniffed at. You get the best DSP that the world has to offer now, and if you take the time with amp sims and cabs and FX you can come up with a killer sound. Don't forget Convolution as well which also plays a massive part. And you can change everything later.
So for me, a nice decently priced little unit here like this Boss ME-70 is a nice compromise. For jamming or playing live (sometimes). Hell, it sounds so good I'd probably just record it in to the box as is and fiddle about with it all later. Love Boss, and always, don't forget they are just a subsidiary of Roland Corp. Japan - who make some of the best DSP on the planet. But more affordable.
+123ubuntu666 I've recorded a lot with these pedals a lot in the past and they always sound good to my ear. No problems with latency etc.
I love the simplicity of having everything in one unit and it does sound really good even the distortion what usually lets these kind of units down.
Yeah, distortion is always the hardest thing to get right. But being Boss I'm sure it does it well.
As for latency, I was just talking about when you work in the box and through interfaces with computer FX on and recording live.
The whole point about using a unit like this is there would be no latency at all if you were recording it 'as is' as you have obviously been doing.
It gets confusing explaining it and it loses something in the translation, but yeah, that is why I would buy a unit like this - zero latency - it's offloading the CPU processing to the ME-70, so it should be very minimal.
And there is something to be said for having a unit that does it all and you are familiar with.
yeah it works well for me and I love the Boss ME-70s over a load of pedals patched together
I wonder if there are any ready to use presets in this unit? And if so how do you get access to it? I have a Boss ME 25 and switching in between presets is as simple as pushing the up or down pedal. Can i do the same with ME 70? Asking for a friend mate thanks for your help in advance. :)
Would you know if there power adapter has to be a boss or can it be a standard purchase one? Someone has one for sail on craigslist in Norfolk I might jump on it.
Yeah aftermarket 9v adaptors work fine
Is there any way to program two mods and save them on the same bank? Like have pedal one saved with chorus and flanger?

Actually, modelling guitars are all we should be seeing these days.They could come with tailor made shapes and neck profiles…
I came to this conclusion many years ago :) that and the fact I like to keep things simple especially playing live in bands
In terms of GAS if I was to play in a band again all I would use is a Jazzmaster > Boss ME-70 > Boss Katana = Job Done
GAS has to do with personal gratification, not with utility.
I had to acquire a few guitars for the way they look, feel and a little for the different types of sound I can get out of them, yet that last aspect is more of a bad excuse, really. I don't need more than one but I like to have them. I keep them on display too, enjoy the sight of them, the finishes, the wood. That does not apply to multi-coloured expensive boxes.
Maybe I'll tune my 7-string in fifths and give it the range of a 10-string. That would be fun…

Bert Weeden’s “play in a day” ha much to answer for. In all seriousness, lovely bit of kit, but not ever having used any effects it really does need some skills I don’t have even after playing acoustically for 20 plus years...

Can i use multiple modulations at the sametime on this unit ? (for ex. tremolo over phased sound)

I'm playing this in the FX loop of my Engl Fireball 100, and I just can't get a clean tone out of it! No matter what I do, the tone just won't clean up. I'm bypassing the Boss for my rhythm tone, and then I've turned the Delay into a sort of solo boost with higher volume and some delay. I seriously need a clean channel, any idea what I can do?
I'm not familiar with you amp but to be honest I never really bothered with effects loops I could never get the sound right when I've used them in the past. Have you turned the amp presets off on you Me-70? Also make sure the master volume on the boss is not too high half way point max is where I usually set it .
Thanks for your reply, I actually figured it out the other day with the help of a friend. You have to switch to the clean channel on the amp, otherwise the Boss will just distort everything. So I'm gonna have to get a simple footswitch to switch channels.

Is there a way to have chorus/delay/reverb and then hit the pedal and turn all that off and jus have distortion/reverb ?
Not in one go no
It is possible to save a preset effect setup , save to 1 of 4 pedal banks, and then have a preset setup assigned to a different pedal bank without certain effects but maintain distortion, compression , eq , etc
Can these be repaired? As there's something wrong with mine. Used to really enjoy playing it too. Great pedal for the money. Loads of effects and sounds to play around with
Anything can be repaired within reason, trouble is finding someone to do it and for the price of these used you may as well buy another one
How much do the used ones usually go for?
Average about £100 on eBay, you could sell yours as faulty on eBay too seen faulty ones fetch a few quid before

Rob The Meat Manifesto practice primarily and I want to buy pedals. The 50 doesn't have the fx loop and the 100 does, but tbh I'm still confused about the fx loop thing , what is it for really? Is it necessary for pedals?
An effects loop is an input/output that allows you to place effects between the pre-amp section of the guitar - where it gets its tone and the power section of the amplifier - where it amplifies the sound. This means that your pre-amp can be put anywhere in the signal chain rather than having to be the last stop. It’s also used best when you’re using the gain channel or cranking your amp into distortion and you want to preserve the amp sound before modulation gets a hold of it. When you run modulation, delay or reverb straight into the front of your amplifier, the pre-amp (or tone of the amp) is coloured by the effect and some guitarists feel that this sometimes makes them sound muddy. For example, if you were playing distorted riffs on a guitar in a vast cave you would get tonnes of reverb bouncing back at you which would sound great. However, if you were to take that reverb and put it through the amplifier, the amp would compress the sound (as it’s supposed to do) and thus lose all of the gorgeous intricacies of the cave, leaving you with an affected signal. This of course is something you might like, but not every guitarist wants that sound.

hope that helps to be honest its not a deal breaker if your seriously playing in a band the 100 would be better but for home use you may be better off with the 50

It's a great score, I always wondered about the ME80 but was disappointed. I've used the ME70 on most of my videos since 2017 highly recommend.
The more compact size is better too 🤘🎸
