    Another master piece. I always enjoy the bike builds. There's just something about taking a pile of parts and making functional bicycle. Awesome 👏

    Cool build Randy that gold crankset billy bonkers and yellow bar tape/webbing really set that old Schwinn off a treat - shame it isn’t larger

      Thanks Tinkerer. Yeah the riding position of the bike just puts a lot of pressure on my hands but I've been re thinking this and if the frame were a little bigger than the reach would probably be too long and that would bother my back. Maybe a taller stem would work or just give up on the drop bars. IDK we'll see. I do like riding it I just constantly have to be moving my hands around to relieve pressure.

    Always enjoy seeing how these come together. I can remember when you couldn't buy a bike with a chrome molybdenum frame for less than 500 $'s.

    Another splendid build mate but the stand out moments were getting a peek into your loft space again and the webbing strap tape job 👌 It was sooo close to being a success 🤩. Keep ‘em rollin’ in old chum 🤙🏽

    Looks like you granted my wish for a new parts bin build today! Excellent build as always! The parts bin build videos are my favorites by far! I'm glad you liked my BMX conversion I sent you

      Don't expect that kind of service all the time lol. Yes nice bike. I've built a few bikes in the past with bmx bars and more of an upright position and they've been really comfortable to ride. I don't seem to keep them around though. Probably has something to do with riding them into a 20mph headwind and I just prefer a little more aero position.

      @@Locojoe 😆I know it just the timing. I understand the aero part. I normally don't do box but the frame was small so it was perfect.

    that carbon trek deserves to be this channels first higher end build. such a cool frame. this build turned out awesome!

      @Locojoe  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm sure I'll build it back up again some time. Probably with something other than drop bars. If you ever see a high end build on this channel it's not me it's an imposter lol. oh you never know. Thanks for watching and the comment.

    BITCHIN' I DIG IT ! Sometimes the BEST bikes are built from piles in the yard and garage ! Awesome old steel frame....that bike looks sooooo much better than all those new cookie cutter bikes you see every day ...thanx for the vid... Oh...and DIBBS on the green Schwinn frame in the attic ! ☺

      @Locojoe  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks and yes they are. That green Schwinn (Tornado) was one of the first custom bikes I ever built many years ago. It's been through a couple different configurations and will eventually get built up again. Thanks for watching.

    Your style made me think you were from Orange County or San Diego California, but you're in Kansas. Do you even need gears on the bike. love the channel. Thanks

    • @Locojoe
      @Locojoe  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the immediate area I live in and ride around is flat and you can pretty easily get by on a single speed which I used to ride more of. As I've aged though I do like having a few gears which makes accelerating from stops and climbing the overpasses a little less painful on my ailing knees. A few gears to choose from is also nice in the strong winds we often have. I also used to ride a few 2 speed kickbacks which worked pretty well but most everything I build lately is 1 x 5,6 or 7 speed. Thanks David.

      Cool. Our first mountain bikes were Nishiki Colorados back in early 90s. Wish we'd hung on to them. Thanks for watching.
