Björk has an air of innocence and "childishness" about her... maybe she managed to (partially) keep the openness and creativity of a child. This is part of what makes this movie so devastatingly intense to me.

gnaagren sorry but to say that art with this level of confidence and experience is childlike is a little patronizing besides being wrong, you don't get to this artistic peak without much experience and effort and to say it is innocent is a little belittling but well, im sure she doesn't care. just bugs me a bit

The first time I heard this song I thought she was downplaying the importance of sight but as I got older and many repeat listens (I love Bjork) I’m noticing now that she wasn’t doing that but rather she was comforting herself with having lost her sight. She would love to see all these things but she is making peace with the hand she was dealt in life and with that in mind this song is hopeful and brighter than any little sparks I’ve ever seen.

I think she’s telling the truth about not caring about the Great Wall or Peru, but the two things she doesn’t have a comeback for, where she just says that she doesn’t care, are when it’s about seeing her son and grandchildren. They’re the ones that really matter to her.

Of course, there's this fatality that soon enough she won't be able to see those things and she's trying to make her peace out of it. But I understood her groundness and her pragmatism has her way to set her priority, her losing the sight, her not be able to sightseeing are no matter compared with the sake of her son. All walls are great if the roof does not fall. This is the simplest and deep truth. She's showing stoicism and wisdom here

It was such a relieving and beautiful experience. I didn’t know, but after a few hours I had the feeling, we are able to „see“ through our ears. LordAztahoth the making of this film drained Björk completely and the tension between her and Lars almost made that the film wouldn’t ever see the day light...thankfully for everyone, they sorted out everything and we have this amazing masterpiece (and unfortunately all that’s bring amazement and growth, comes from destruction and dead/transformation)
Undoubtedly is a very sad and depressing story, it’s up to each one of us take the upside of it and “transform ourselves... and just to mention...she is an artist - something that is in extinction these days in the music industry (sadly)

However, at his prompting and challenging questions, you can see in her body language she gets a little sad and perhaps a little defensive. I love how her facial expressions and body language don't completely mesh with her saying "to be honest I really don't care". Hits me in the feels every time.

For my comment, I will mention the brilliant use of the train rumbling sounds as a drumbeat in the background, the way it builds up in the beginning, and how it is used especially at the end. Many years ago, I worked at a company where my office cube was next to a cube that housed two large printers and copiers. One printer made such an interesting combination of sounds that would make a great Bjork song and its background drumbeat too, just like in this movie scene.
