Nissan kept putting a cvt transmission in vehicles that they knew had problems and were junk. That is just a big middle finger to customers. Don't feel sorry for them, but feel sorry for their employees.
@@j2times2006the ones with issues are the ones that were driven extremely hard. Spoken several Nissan master techs. CVT is great when you drive the car like a normal person. You know the whole Altima driver meme? There's your CVT issue
Nissan also has UD. Not sure of the ownership structure, but as far as I know, honda has nothing in the commercial truck space. Nissan has everything from the Atlas (roughly 2 ton payload) to class 8 semi tractors.
One thing in Japan is that they have more H2 stations than EV charging stations. Its one of the rare situations when they got ahead of rest of the world in technology. We are still eating EV lobby BS here so good luck with that
Clearly you're a CAR guy. And you're thinking about this from a CAR standpoint. The PRODUCT that Nissan Corporation makes is completely --> IRRELEVANT here. This is a corporate-level thing, not a product level thing. They want Nissan's dealership network and Jatco Transmissions to compete with Aisin's commercial marketplace. This merger has nothing to do with cars. Foxconn is only in this as a financier.
Didn't even know Nissan was in such a rough spot. All I know is their transmission is garbage, they've re-released the R35 like it's Skyrim, and the 400z is stupid expensive for no reason.
What does Honda want? --> The dealership network. THAT's what they want. They also want Jatco's commercial market share to compete directly with Toyota's Aisin Corporation.
The only good think about Nissan is......... Um......... Ahhhh..........🤔 Yah I got nothing. And now Honda has CVTs too? Its a match made in hell. Good luck
Based on history, honda will turn to shit. Nissan picked up all the bad habbits of the french. FcA pick all the bad habbits the italians and stellantis pick the worst of the french too.
I love this talk format. It's getting down to the nitty gritty of auto sports. In a behind the scenes veiw.
When I first heard of this, they said they were looking at Mitsubishi also.
Id rather listen to you than big new channels talk about it.
This is going to be the American Motors of Japan.
GTR guys are like.."Nooooo"
Can you imagine a Skyline with Vtech... the Hondasan!
This seems like a good idea. Honda could use some of Nissan's creativity, and Nissan needs Honda's competency.

I had a nissan cvt from 9 years and it worked flawlessly. Based on many comments I've read I was the exception and definitely not the rule

Now we will have a HONDASSAN, i wish Honda would come out with a K48 V8

So… Honsan?

Hotsun
If they both would put manuals back in and stop putting them dangerous junk cvt transmission in them
Pool update

They should also get the ability to make some decent trucks. Can you imagine a Titan or Patrol with Honda build quality?
@@cmlasley See my other comment explaining how this merger has NOTHING to do with cars or trucks...
Nissan should have never stopped making affordable sports cars
Wild
HONDASAN
