    Took this flight last week on the red-eye from Perth back to Melbourne, same seat too, 4k, though configured for 7 rows of 4 in the one part of the cabin, and I must say being able to flatten the seat and close my eyes meant I was able to fall asleep on a plane for the first time ever for a proper nap. Definitely an addictive service.

    Great video Adam and so up to date as well with great info displays..nobody gives us a seat plan and taxiway route like you do. Been to Perth in the Virgin terminal which is great and modern, unfortunately the Qantas terminal looks so outdated in comparison. Perth airport is getting the new railway station to the city very soon, no need for the bus anymore. Thanks for sharing. Do you have the return flight video?

    • @FromtheWindowSeat

      Thanks Philip. Great to get that feedback. The Qantas terminal was meant to be replaced by a new terminal on the eastern side of the airport (where the train station is) but has been postponed given the aviation industry isn’t doing so well. I didn’t film the return because it was a Qantas 737 to Adelaide in economy … and there are plenty of videos already documenting that. Haha.

    I once flew to Sydney, just to catch the A330 to Perth. Like you, I sat in 4K as well. I love these transcon flights on wide bodies. Pity VA doesn't do that anymore. Although I gotta say the A330s are really starting to look very tired. Pity in the mini cabin, the window seats are nearer to the aisle, otherwise that'll be perfect. The lunch flights are catered so much better than brekky flights. You got a proper dessert, I got a miserable ginger cookie. Great video!

    Hey Adam, a tip for the wifi. A common reason why you can’t connect onboard (I found this out myself) is because Apple has private wifi on as standard when connecting to a new network. Turn this off in your individual network settings and it should connect as normal.

    I recently flew business class to Norfolk Island with Qantas. I had my Osmo Pocket stuck to the window the whole trip, both ways and never got asked by the cabin crew to remove it for takeoff or landing. I reckon it depends on the individual crew members whether or not it's allowed. I've been looking at airfares to NZ on an A330 and it's actually cheaper than a lot of domestic flights.

    You had the benefit of as very informative Captain! The A330 is a good product but you have to ask if it is worth the $ in J for what they are currently asking. I can't help but compare with the ex VA product , buts that's history. Ive used this product this year on Darwin to Sydney May , Cairns to Sydney ( June) and Melbourne to Brisbane a couple of weeks ago. The new railway from Perth Airport opens shortly, so worth another trip for that LOL

    • @FromtheWindowSeat
      @FromtheWindowSeat  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the captain certainly provided quite some detail. 👨‍✈️ Certainly, I think it’s hard to justify the $ being asked on this route for business class but for points, I think it’s worthwhile. I had hoped the rail link might be open when I booked my trip but it was severely delayed. The other thing is the train doesn’t serve the current Qantas terminal at Perth … passengers will have to get a shuttle bus to Redcliffe. The train station is on the eastern side of the airport where the international and Virgin terminal is.

Not sure GAB cuts it that is almost Southern Ocean at least so much so that you won't actually see the GAB. Ice cream at like 7am...
