1. "MUSC A GON" is most likely "Mus kee gon" Michigan 2. As was pointed out below, Atari ST shipments started in July. If you search, you will see that they are mostly sold though classified ads, and in some cases it was reported that they were being "sold" before people actually had them. The first actual advertisements for sale come in about mid-august. However, this video is NOT about the "first ad" for the Atari ST, it's about the response to the Atari ST in October 1985, the same month the NES was first advertised.
Great video, as usual! By the way, yesterday I finally left a reply for you in your Overscan Homewbrew Showdown video, regarding how the hell to accelerate in Paris-Dakar game (I figured it out!), if you come back to that video 4 momths ago you’re gonna find the aswer you were looking for.
I really appreciate the timeline and the breakdown of this crucial era. I was a junior in high school at the time and it nice to piece things together.
The ST hit dealers at the end of July, not October. October was about the point where shipments to dealers had become a reasonably reliable thing, and more software was starting to come out.
This is just what the October Paper's say, Mike. Definitely the ST was out ahead of the Amiga in July. The point of this video is to show just how much press the ST was getting in October as the Amiga and NES were coming out too.
Unless the papers give a date or say something like the "The ST came out last Tuesday" then they're not really reporting on it having come out in October. If you're going to make videos that are mainly referencing a bunch of newspaper stories, you need to make sure your own narration isn't adding in ideas and things the news stories don't actually say.

Love this. Great overview of the birth of this exciting time. Such a “Wild West” of development was just such a cool time.
