The hand claps and the percussion propelled this cut. Of course the Moog bass and a unique banjo sounding rythym guitar. Add the anthem lyrics and the mob singers pure funk gold.
The drummer went off the last 90 seconds..... and the Moog went to another level!!!!!!!!!!

We were doing it a the roller rink at that time we of all colors were jamming to this song & different skating styles.The only thing we worried was the verse of the song. Feet don't fail me now cause the song was a long one. Classic.

Its a lot of complex rhythmic grove with heavy syncopation focused on a beat based on the 1 count in 4-4 time. Live instrumentals and a lot experimentation. It's a mix of blues, jazz, r&b, and rock.
