Great video! We run a Woodmizer and after watching your video(s) we ordered a sharpener & a tooth setter. Looking forward to setting it up and learning to maintain our blades! Thanks!
When l sharpened my 10" wide band blades, l always ran them around a couple extra times, very light grinder cuts for more razor sharp tooth. They would peel the back of my finger nail.
When sharpened my 10" wide bandsaw blades the grinder also ground the back of the tooth as the stone was rising. I believe that helped make for a sharper tooth. I was wondering if l could just deepen the gullet on the blade just enough for that to happen with the Woodland mills sharpener?
Josh, All videos have been helpful, can you do one on the difference of the yellow and white magnetic log scales and explain the left and right sides of each. Thanks
First Ruler - Yellow 1" plus for shrinkage and sanding 1” scale (1” - minus .08) 4/4 scale (1” + plus .08) Second Ruler - White 1" 2" 3" 1” board 2” board
Am curious as how the Auto-Shutoff was attached to the blade. Was there not a magnetic one at one time? Nice video, I am sure to be referencing to it often.
I did take my blades to a company who did sharpen them. They told me that sharpening is better when it's sharpened with oil. How long does the blade last after it's been sharpened?
There are many variables however, a blade can be sharpened up to 5 times and you will get approx. 4-6 cutting hours on one blade depending on how clean the log is and what you are cutting.
Great explanation and video. Really cleared up all the questions I had about mine. You guys are the best!
Glad it helped!
