George The Poet is a man who doesn’t waste words . He says what he needs and wants and nothing more . It’s an art !

It's a joy to listen to him. No waffling, well considered opinions, self reflection & introspective. He's well read too. Chuckie holds his own but interrupts too much for me in this ep.

What he says at around 1 hr 25 mins about many Africans being careful what they say when they speak out against politicians and authoritive figures is a contributing factor to how he himself is so thoughtful about his choice of words when he talks of society. I never considered this before. Especially him being born in a country that was at the time under the rule of an infamous “dictator” that took no mess. Makes sense.

I love GTP and how he articulates. He doesn't bombarded you with all HE has learnt but drops gems for further research, consideration and possibly a new perspective.
I love how he touched on the influence of politics in music throughout the world and Jamaica especially as its Independence was this week. A very very well thought move. I myself have been urged to explore a few points mentioned here today aswell as check out GTPs podcast.
Inspired is an understatement!! Love to you both forever and always 💪🏾💪🏾🖤

Finally someone talks about gentrification and southall it’s soo true being unified and making the sacrifice to stay in less desirable places rather than perhaps Ealing is better. However it also depends on the community and there intentions in the same instance Tudor rose a club in southall lost its license she’s been fighting for it for years but the people in power such as the board are all Asian people who don’t benefit from it being in their community and would rather get it for dirt cheap and develop it into something else it really does take us a black people to come to together and fight for the things we love a lot of other races have figures this out however this goes for all races and communities one love

Interesting hearing about the Vybz Kartel vs Mavado. Sadly though Mavado still lives in Miami and hardly visits Jamaica, his son also got locked up for a gruesome murder on his block, and there is a lingering fear of reprisals. Mavado has been hiding out from Jamaica for years.

In all honesty taking the L vs taking the W is all perspective. But an L is truly a W because you ultimately learn from losses. Once you learn. You can earn. Which out of the word learn drop the L. You get the word earn. And start collecting Ws. But don't let the Ws make you complacent. Always be in the mode of learning...absolutely true or 100% true?

IF the parent get involved at an early age then you don't get this nonsense. You can go to church and pray but it won't change the fact you needed to act sooner. Once your child hit 15 - 16 then it gonna be difficult to pull them back.
