Depending on how hurt your winters are and how big your reservoirs will determine if you have to winterize the feature and cover it. I would just cover it in anything that would protect it from excessive damage from ice sun etc.
Yes- I’m pretty sure but you would have to winterize. I know Aquascapes has a devision in Canada and I would recommend touching base with them. I know we have installed their products up in Canada but I’m not sure about winter requirements of the basin. Chuck Catton is my contact at AquaScape inc in Canada. Definitely safer to reach out to them since I’m only 90% sure I would not want to steer you wrong.
hello, if I were to install multiple urns side by side, I would need to install 3 separate kits (urn, basin, pump), correct? Do you know if aquascape sells a kit for each 3 sizes (small medium large)? I only saw kits for small and medium on their site. thanks
You would need to install a large basin using liner and small aqua blocks underneath the urns. If you watch our video on large custom fountain installation you will see that happen.
I just got a huge urn from someone but it has a crack in it. Is there a way to seal it but would still be safe for wildlife? And did you say you filled the urn partway with stone? Thanks.
Never had to repair ceramic but I’m sure it can be done. www.lakesidepottery.com/Pages/Pottery-tips/How-to-fix-broken-pottery-china-ceramic-lesson-1.htm I love Google! Also, the stone we use inside is for safety / stability on light weight fiber stone or fiberglass fountains. Not sure if you need that or if it’s a good idea for ceramic. Would depend on how big and heavy duty the piece you have is. May not be necessary in your application?
Modern Design Aquascaping Inc. thanks for the reply. It’s definitely heavy enough on it own! Husband just picked up some Flex Seal spray and will give it a try. The cracks are long but not wide, just enough to seep out. Just need to figure out a way to stabilize the pipe in the center because the urn is about 4 ft tall. If I can get it to seal then I’ll shop for a basin and give it a go. Worth a try since it was free. Thanks again!
I’m not sure what you mean. Are you wanting to install the urn on a bed of gravel or are you wanting to install the basin on a bed of gravel? Also tell me what type of gravel are you referring to👍
Hi John, hope you're doing well. Would you use an aquabasin 45 with a large stacked slate urn? There is no kit for the large, I'm assuming there's a reason for that.
Yes sir I think that’s a bad match. If you watch my basic fountain on an advanced install we use a skirt that is 8‘ x 8‘ around the basin, that feature’s splash is just a bit outside of that skirt. I think the large one would need at least 10 feet diameter of a splash zone to catch its water. I would recommend doing that on small aqua blocks and building a custom basin👍🏻
Can you use the medium Urn with that smaller basin. Its $1200 for medium kit on Amazon but only $800 if bought medium Urn but the basin 30 instead of the basin 45.
@@mikeg3281 We drill for a 2" Bulk head fitting. The same bit is used to drill the hole for the 3-watt Aquascape LED into the side AFTER the bulk head is installed!
Looks great.
TYVM!
Super helpful!! Thanks for the info!🎉👍
Glad it was helpful! Have fun with your project ;)
Awesome common sense design with digging the slope downwards towards the basin to assist in water catchment
It would seem like common sense but typically we run into basins installed 4” above grade. I think most people are afraid of that “shovel thing”!
Very helpful. Appreciate your professional advice! Thank you!
No problemo! Hope it helps ya👍
Beautiful work and great informational video. Way to go Modern Design Aquascaping.

I just buy this urn do we have to filling w stone , for me looks like heavy wind can move away??? Thanks
Yes we fill it up about 1/2 way with gravel!
Do you a cover to cover with for the Winter, if so what kind do you use?

Great video - as always!!

Great explanation
;) See you in a week OMG!!!
@@KoiAddiction yes sir, can’t wait
Can the the big reservoir 45 survive the freezing Weather of Canada?

By the way, it’s a ceramic urn.

Nicely done sir, may I ask was the size of the urn medium or large?
Medium urn👍🏻
nice workWhere can I get the components for the fountain?
Www.aquascapeinc .com
How did you run the electrical?
I have it installed by a pro- I am def not an electrician. I use extension cords :)

You can but you will have to back down the flow to keep it from splashing out!. If you try it please send me a video to share!
Thank you.
Wow how about a response 1 year later 😂 I just had a bunch of comments randomly pop up and I am answering them all! Have an awesome day ;)
nice, what size pump?
2000 GPH on 1 1/2” plumbing👍
What is the size of big one
I see a light inside the urn, can you tell me the light model?
The light is an AquaScape one watt LED spotlight. You can buy it online at www.aquascapeinc.com or at any AquaScape distributor👍🏻
@@KoiAddiction Thanks so much!
How big is your pump that used on this video?
I started out with a 1000 Ultra And then in my modified video I used an aqua surge 2000 with one and a half inch plumbing
So changing the opening on top, how does the light fit?
