I use only for visit..as our Ope teach this verb and the meaning is käydä -to visit..so it's very confusing now...I don't know that it has a lot of meanings.
@@mindanaofwtutorialstoday I know, it can be confusing! But together with some other words, new meanings are created. Hopefully, once you start hearing them in real life, you'll get used to it. There are a lot of verbs in English, too, that are combined with little words that make them mean different: do, have, go, make... ("do away with something", "have a look", "make up", "make do", "go crazy"... It's a lot to learn, I know!
I stumbled by your channel and i was liking how you teach the language as a beginner to finnish language. Kiitos paljon. I will watch more of your videos🙏
I've heard the imperative "käy istumaan = come sit" Is it possible to use "käydä + -mAAn" for any verb (e.g. käy pelaamaan, käy syömään)? or is there is a limited number of expression with that form?
Käydä istumaan and käydä nukkumaan are common. Where I come from, it's common to use them with pretty much any verb: Mä kävin itkemään / Mä kävin lukemaan - basically, anything that you "start" doing. I actually had a part in this video where I talked about it but decided to leave it out in the end. Now I'm thinking I shouldn't have! Thanks for bringing it up, that was a good question.
Thanks! this video was very useful. None of my finnish teachers has explained to me the subtle difference between käydä and mennä. I've been only using "mennä + - #n" because "käydä + -ssA" made no sense to me, but now it does :) . Kiitos paljon.
paras and parhain are both nominative, and parhaiten answers the question "How?" --> Minä olen meistä kaikista paras kuski, eli minä ajan parhaiten. = I am the best driver out of all of us, which means I drive the best.
How have you used the verb käydä? Do you have anything to add? Any questions?

Kiitos Emmi! I confuse this verb with käyttää all the time. This video was very helpful, thank you again!
Eipä kestä! I'll have to do käyttää, too. I'm wondering if this could be a series... 🤔 I've already done pitää in my other video.
