That's an interesting theory, wich would make sense considering how he's the 2nd boss after Fuelweaver who can speak, and both would be kings. on the other thought, note how he speaks in the primitive pig language, instead of the Hamlet one. Also, how would he get here from the Hamlet islands?
@@FISH_NECRO maybe the “curse of the hairy pig” limited his mind? And the palace does have an item required to build the “travel between dlc” machine of hamlet
@@megacringetothemax726 that would make sense. It also could be, that after spending years away from Hamlet, he forgot the way he talked there and started talking like every other pig. But no matter if he's Wilba's dad or not, the junkyard is pretty important to the lore, because in the trailer you can see Wagstaff without the visual distortion on him, like his real flesh version was there
The only difference is that AG doesn't ignore obstacles nearly as much as this guy. I agree that using environment against the boss is cool though. Thank you for watching :)
Another outstanding video. I really would enjoy having explanations about the fight tho, like timings and nuances. Not only this boss but all others. Would really help elevate "skill showcase" to complete guide. Thank you
So far I only have one guide type video and this isn't the one. Most of my videos are just fighting the boss damageless. I'm not really expecting people to no hit the boss just because I did it, especially not this one. Trust me his shoulder bash is painful to avoid sometimes.
I do like this boss, but he is pretty frustrating for sure. Do you know how to predict whether he’s going to do the shoulder bash or club swing when he has both on at the same time? I find it very tricky when he has both
That's the neat part... You can't. The most you can do is run around the big junk pile until he swings with his bat because he will never try to do a shoulder bash unless he has a clear sight with you. If you choose to kite him normally, he will prioritize shoulder bash over any other attack. However it's still not guaranteed so you should never let your guard down. Another thing you can do is lure him far enough to make him throw the junk and after he does so, find an object to hide behind as he's very likely to do the shoulder bash attack. It still isn't guaranteed however so you should pay attention.
Damn! Mase this look easy! So regarding the cannon attack, based on the burn mark, would it actually be easier to dodge if you ran diagnally for a shorter distance?
The only way to dodge laser is to walk away in straight line since boss tracks your position at all times until he fires the laser, and when he does fire it, the speed of the laser is almost instantaneous.
He is a fun fight and i was actually surprised with his difficulty... Dont get me wrong i have way too many hours in this game at this point so nothing is gonna be truly hard... But all things considered he gave me a good beating the first time i fought him post cc
I have nothing against boss being difficult really. What I don't like is randomness of the entire fight. Like sure, you know his attacks and you know how to respond to them but even so timing in this fight seems like a variable and doesn't feel constant at all. Now of course if you're not trying your hardest to avoid taking damage, sure fight is fun and enjoyable. However the fact that his shoulder bash is straight up unfair at times is inexcusable. That is my only major complaint about this boss. That being said, I really am glad that unlike me people enjoy this boss and find it cool. It's okay to disagree and I'm happy that I'm in the minority because this boss is very unique all things considered! Anyhow, thank you for watching :)
@@moat_n_coat im all for bosses being hard if anything I was complaining when in the beta crystal deerclops was as easy as he was and in my opinion the randomness in his attacks is good... Well obviously when you try to do it hitless that can get frustrating so it makes sense why you didn't like him
The only thing I can say is this: When nightmare werepig was first released I really liked the boss. Not only is he simple to learn for both new and experienced players, but his fight is designed to encourage dodging his attacks whether you're going for hitless or not, and it works just fine. Scrappy werepig's design is basically using environmental junk to block his attacks, and it would've been okay if he behaved like he's supposed to. He isn't the first boss that was intended to be defeated using his arena to your advantage as ancient guardian also exists. The only difference is that ancient guardian doesn't play dirty and he behaves like he's supposed to. Same can not be said for scrappy werepig however. His shoulder bash in particular is super random and it doesn't always behave the way it was supposed to behave. Many times I've had him ignore obstacles and charging towards me or chasing me and starting the shoulder bash attack from distance where it's literally impossible to avoid or use junk to barricade it. His bat attack and laser attack are completely fine however, the main reason this boss is super annoying is his difficult to predict/avoid shoulder bash attack. Needless to say this fight feels the exact opposite of nightmare werepig as it to a degree encourages tanking due to his weapons breaking when they hit something and his shoulder attack being complete nonsense. This is one of the very few bosses which I'd rather tank than try to avoid because the difference in difficulty is dramatic. I know I said a lot and I know this won't change yours or anyone else's opinion, however that was never the point. I really wanted to enjoy this boss but I just couldn't, and I honestly can't recall any other boss being THIS annoying to fight if you're trying to avoid his attacks. Thank you, for taking your time to read this, and once again, I'm glad that, unlike me, you and everyone else here got to enjoy this boss the way I couldn't. The most important thing is to have fun after all :D
@@moat_n_coat well it's good that he is a different fight otherwise it would just feel like they are just reskining the same fight just for the sake of more content Each fight in this game feels completely unique from one another which is a great thing in my opinion cause let's be honest all the old bosses "deerclops, bearger, tree guards etc" all felt so similar to one another which felt kinda repetitive in the long run... And I totally can understand that not everyone is going to like the same bosses I do. I do understand all of that. However, what I don't like is when that design doesn't work as intended and just straight up breaks the rules it was supposed to follow. Like imagine you fight shadow pieces and when you spawn them they all turn lvl 3 instead of leveling based on how many have you killed so far, but when you try it again they level up as per usual. It's not something that adds to the difficulty in a fun way, it's just an annoying shenanigan that may or may not happen. Hopefully you understand what I'm trying to say.
Just noticed his fight song has a bit from “werepig of London” in it.

How do you spawn him
beat him in the caves and he'll be stuck inside the trash pile, release him and that'll be it
Basically what guy above said.
I'll only add that you have to wait for 10 days after you kill nightmare werepig in order to spawn the scrappy version.

SO TRUE!
Just in case someone unironically tries this, both of these bosses prioritize player so making them fight would be painful process.

Yes it is.
