@loosilu It wasn't a critic of STJ, both the dog I mentioned and him are on the slim side. My Aria weighted 22 kg and needed nearly 1 kg of food a day :)
It's not bad so far, but yes, the dinner servings were smaller. Maybe they thought people would have eaten dinner or late lunch before boarding. Hope tomorrow is a better day. Yes, the pool was cranky!!
Ever time I even see the word Sunflower...a certain melody starts running through my head. When it is in one if these videos..forget it, I'm a goner.. "sunflowwerrr, sunflowwerr...."😊
I don't think I would want to travel on the huge cruise liners. The Nippon Maru looks about perfect. I was impresser with the decor and amenities. Beautiful.
And, since it's a small ship, they cannot rely upon economies of scale. With fewer passengers, there are fewer people to pay for the fuel, maintenance, and other crew.
Well, that dinner was beautifully presented and I'm sure it was tasty, but what a good thing you had the hot dog and hamburger beforehand or you might have starved.
It's a lovely ship, but the pool does seem a little scary. 😮 The food looks good, too- the curry soup was very appealing. I can't waitfor the next installment.
It's just a common thing to do in Japan, it's not a mistake. If the ending/closing time is 1am, it's often written as 25:00. If you see 26:00, it means 2am. They only do this if the operating hours carry over from one day into the next.
"The comforter looks comfortable" - that's comforting. Hopefully other cabin classes (and prices) will be shown in Part 2; price for this cabin is expensive.
Omg. Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory. I brought so much of that back home with me. I was there 5 weeks in 2018 and shipped some home along with other stuff half way through. I'm glad you got over your MSC cruise experience so you could bring us this one.

You hadn't heard? That's the government's solution to the workforce shortages due to the low birth-rate, just make the days one hour longer and voilà!, problem solved... 😂
It's both so lovely but also feels so dated. How can that be? From the outside this is the perfect ship for me. They shouldn't come any larger. ❤ thx for sharing your adventures
Was happy to see another opportunity to sailing voyage.❤ The food looked good on the Lido deck. The pool reminded me of that gadget from Spencer Gifts (a novelty shop) that had water inside a plastic tube and it would rock back to forth and it would keep doing it until you unplugged it.
Love seeing Sony electronics! My father bought a Sony Trinitron TV in the USA as soon as it was available in 1974. He was an electrical engineer for the government and wouldn’t buy an inferior electronics product
Junskitchen just did a video on how wagashi was made that I found very interesting. I live in the US, and didn't know such a thing existed, and now I'm thinking of trying it myself here lol. I love watching your videos, keep up the great work! :) P.S. I have learned to have a snack or meal ready when I watch you, because you always make me hungry with the good things you eat!
Nippon maru. Sea of nippon. One of the classic japanese cruise liners built in 90s for the japanese market. Greetings from Greece. Insist on ferries and cruises as i found your channel cause im a shiplover
What a BEAUTIFUL Cruise! I loved your room---it was the perfect size, super cozy and had everything one could desire for this length trip. I was impressed with the lounges and salons! Food presentation was very creative but thank God for the late night burgers/hot dogs/beer/shakes!
Did anyone else see the timetable of the public bath? It's open till 25.00 hour. 😂 How on earth is that sign still up there after all those years the ship is in business? Nice to see you take a different trip this time that I haven't seen on other TH-cam channels yet. ❤ The little cruise looks amazing! Although it's quite expensive.
It's just a common thing to do in Japan, it's not a mistake. If the ending/closing time is 1am, it's often written as 25:00. If you see 26:00, it means 2am. They only do this if the operating hours carry over from one day into the next.
Beautiful ship. The Food looked good, just not enough or not to your liking? I like tha they let you snack too. And if the ship isn't rocking, the pool sure was. So noisy. Looking forward to the continuation. Thanks for sharing!
Great trip. Finally another Cruise trip, this time on Local Cruise. Looks like it's route at selected season, because last time I watched it, it departs from Yokohama. Bit disappointed about the dinner and the pool looks like mini sea. But overall experience for this first episode, it's okay and better than your previous 7 day cruise trips.
I'm curious, was the drill also doubled in english? I'm asking because i see a lot of things in Japanese without translations from what you showed, so i was curious if someone who doesn't speak Japanese could get around.
I feel very mixed about this.. The ship has been renoveted in 2022 yet it seems rather old fashioned and definately cramped . Didn’t like the pokey bathroom and you’ve had double doors and a balconey on some other ships you’ve been on. Some of the food looked very good yet, you were right, the rice portion was quite inadequate and the miso soup was, well .. I’ve never seen anywhere miso that had absolutely nothing in it..! Not surprised you felt unhappy at that..🙄 But the bavaroise….now that was something..! 😌 Either way ….I can’t wait to see Day 2.!!🤗🌹🫶
on the tug being so powerful chances are it is an ASD tug where they have props in different places or tugs using a rotational drive that is similar to a jet engine that forces water at a specific directon
i would definately consider this cruise the cabin was excellent and the food preparation was tops. i would like a bit more cooked food and would like to know what is included in the fare. phil goodman
@9:13 not to nitpick or anything, but what time is 25:00? it said that the grand bath was open from 15:00 -- 25:00 and I'm just curious what that means.
It's just a common thing to do in Japan, it's not a mistake. If the ending/closing time is 1am, it's often written as 25:00. If you see 26:00, it means 2am. They only do this if the operating hours carry over from one day into the next.
I always find it interesting how Japanese cruise ships/ferries have theme songs. Ours in the US don't really have that. It's pretty quiet, and there's no speaker chattering in the room when you enter.
I've always wondered if the all the overnight ferries from the other videos required muster drills. I've been on a fair number of cruises and even the one-night sailings always required one based on SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) regulations. That said, a lot of the cruise lines (at least the US based ones) don't generally require passengers to actually do a formal drill anymore, instead having you watch a safety video in your cabin and then check in to your assigned muster station at your convenience.
The toilet controls are certainly in a strange location. Attached to a shelf? Weird.. And the food offerings look a lot more palatable than on that MSC cruise you were on
I find it amusing that the suspicious looking hamburger got the !! And the regular menu didn’t. Doesn’t say much about the food. The portion of rice was so sad based on how much our guy loves rice!
Involuntarily started singing "Sunflower, Sunflower!" at the 2:44 time stamp.
Don't know why, but I want to hear the Base Singers of Tik Tok singing that tune. 😋
You and me both!
Always!
me too!!!
Me too, I changed the lyrics to sing to my cat 😅
The only thing better than a new STJ video is a multi-episode new STJ video! I'm excited! 😁
In a nice room on a ship! YES!!
Your videos are very high quality, relaxing, and take us on the journey like we are their too. We enjoy them very much.
Most ships have a light menu for the first meal due to sea stomachs. I learned this when I was in the Navy.
Thank goodness for meclizine, or I wouldn't be able to get on a rowboat, let alone a ship like this!
The swimming pool! 😳
Considering at the small portions at dinner, it’s clear they don’t know who they’re dealing with. 😄
I am amazed by the amount of food he can eat every time. And then I remember I had a dog who could have competed with him :)
@@Ariacanis If STJ lives in a Japanese city, I'm sure he's walking well over 10,000 steps a day, from what I observed about city life.
@loosilu It wasn't a critic of STJ, both the dog I mentioned and him are on the slim side. My Aria weighted 22 kg and needed nearly 1 kg of food a day :)
@@Ariacanis just to be clear, I knew it wasn't a critique! but I do understand why he's hungry!
@loosilu I wanted to be clear too, misunderstandings are so easy. Do you watch his other channel ?
Dang, what a small portion of rice at dinner! At least you got a chocolixir to restore your HP & MP.
I love the adventures you take us on
The dinner was more for the eyes and less for the stomach. 😁
Indeed, the presentation was glorious
It's not bad so far, but yes, the dinner servings were smaller. Maybe they thought people would have eaten dinner or late lunch before boarding. Hope tomorrow is a better day. Yes, the pool was cranky!!
Although I doubt I will ever travel to Japan. Your videos are so informative and entertaining. Thank you!!!!!
Ever time I even see the word Sunflower...a certain melody starts running through my head. When it is in one if these videos..forget it, I'm a goner.. "sunflowwerrr, sunflowwerr...."😊
This ship looks so cozy and comfortable. Thank you for taking us with you on your trip! Greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪
The Little Tug that could.
The tugboat, for it's size, is the most powerful craft to float :3
Can't wait for part 2. And that food looked awesome imo.
I don't think I would want to travel on the huge cruise liners. The Nippon Maru looks about perfect. I was impresser with the decor and amenities. Beautiful.
The grand bath is open till 25:00? That is luxurious!
Alright my friend is going on another amazing journey much love be safe live life to the fullest 🤟
I also started singing 'Sunflower - Sunflower!' LOL
I thought $900 was a lot for a twin room then you showed us the room...and I still thought that 😅
It probably would have been $450 about 3-5 years ago...
i mean its multiple days, plus all the accomodations and stuff on board, with dinners.. and for 2 people
and its moving. like its also going somewhere too
And, since it's a small ship, they cannot rely upon economies of scale. With fewer passengers, there are fewer people to pay for the fuel, maintenance, and other crew.
How difficult would it be for a foreigner to travel on a ferry. I don't think it as 'easy' as traveling by train or air.
Luv these presentations!
You could go surfing 🏄♀️ in that pool! Big waves 😅
Thanks for always travelling and eating Arigato gozaimasu
A beer, a hotdog and sunset....what more could you want....very nice!!!
Gimme the curry soup , chocolate pudding , looked yummy !!
Well, that dinner was beautifully presented and I'm sure it was tasty, but what a good thing you had the hot dog and hamburger beforehand or you might have starved.
Yes , super sunset .
Not a party cruise, that's for sure. :D
It's a lovely ship, but the pool does seem a little scary. 😮 The food looks good, too- the curry soup was very appealing. I can't waitfor the next installment.
Open until 25:00.
I noticed that too. I mean does their day have more than 24 hours? Was it just a mistake or am I missing something?
It's just a common thing to do in Japan, it's not a mistake. If the ending/closing time is 1am, it's often written as 25:00. If you see 26:00, it means 2am. They only do this if the operating hours carry over from one day into the next.

"The comforter looks comfortable" - that's comforting. Hopefully other cabin classes (and prices) will be shown in Part 2; price for this cabin is expensive.
" I'm ready to eat". 😃😂 I must be a very thirsty boy, because I can drink 8 beers.
Hi Solo, always a pleasure to join you on your trips ❤

"I'll just have one beer" LOL Do you know how many times I have said that in my life and it never ever goes too plan ;-)
Dinner: Ah, a reasonably portioned dinner I'd quite enjoy. Solo: I feel insulted. This must be for old people... Me: ^.^;;; I'm not old yet.
That is such a pretty ship. All the common areas seem so cozy and inviting. Can't wait for the next episode.
Thank you, as always, for sharing your adventure! Such a lovely ship, with so many comfortable looking lounge areas.
I'd also sit by that pool and wash down free burgers with beer, all day long
What a cute beer glass.
I should have one tomorrow 😂🤣😂! I knew you’d be getting a midnight snack 😊😉
So MOL owns Sunflower too. But no theme song for Nippon Maru, alas.
This is so exciting - a 2-day luxury cruise.
Thanks for the sunset time.
Why does the Grand Bath close at 25:00 hrs, what is 25:00 hrs?
My guess is that it’s 01:00

19:55 Looks almost like five-star dining. Still trying to comprehend this meal is a served on a FERRY ship!!
Love seeing Sony electronics! My father bought a Sony Trinitron TV in the USA as soon as it was available in 1974. He was an electrical engineer for the government and wouldn’t buy an inferior electronics product

Good, you got a window and bathroom in your room. I really like that table your beer is on. 21:27 Is that a mushroom behind the shell?

What a pleasure to come home from work and find a new vlog made by STJ! I hope you enjoyed the cruise and the burgers :D
I almost choked when I saw the ticket was $930 USD for this cabin. Five day cruises from Sydney to Fiji, in a nicer cabin, costs the same.
@16:41: I can see Jin Sakai riding over the ridge...

I don’t blame you for having the chocolate shake so late at night after such a meager dinner.

And drop the link to the last cruise. Thanks
