FAU has played a defense even better than the Aztecs and beat them comfortably. It'll be extremely close either way, but there's plenty of reason to believe SD St will pull this off.

I cannot believe the amount of disrespect Miami has gotten. I don't think they've been favored in 1 game, even Drake was picked in a majority of brackets and the favorite according to ESPN. Even after they won their region, Norchad Omier, who averaged 10, 13, and 2 steals, wasn't on the all-region team and nobody questioned it. The analysts will talk about Clingan and Sanogo, but Omier has played great on bigger, more athletic players like Trayce Jackson-Davis and Kyle Filipowski. It sounds absurd since he's 6'7", but Omier is still going to keep the rebounding battle close even against 7 footers. Not to mention, Miamis guards are far superior to UConns. Hawkins has been inefficient all season while Miami has a guy who just matched Laettners accolade in Miller, a hyper-athletic sharpshooter in Poplar, the best shooter in the tournament and midwest region MOP in Pack, and the ACC POTY in Wong. Miami is gonna play super fast and could easily outpace UConn. They've played better defenses and better offenses than UConn already too in Houston. In comparison, UConns most outstanding win was over Gonzaga who couldn't play defense at all and had horrible guards.

Miami beat that Duke team by 20 earlier in the season. From a pure statistical standpoint, Miami is the best offense remaining both in terms of volume and efficiency. Ignoring the Georgia Tech and Maryland losses, which were early on when the team was figuring itself out, as well as the Duke loss in the ACC tourney when Omier was hurt, Miami hasn't lost a game by more than one possession. They have now beaten Virginia, Texas, Houston, and Duke. All top 25 defenses and we can throw in Indiana if we stretch it out to 40. They embarrassed 3 of those teams. Even from a defensive standpoint, they held Drake and Indiana below 70. The mighty Houston Cougars were held to 37% from the field. Texas was held to 36 in the second half At some point, the narrative must change.

UConn is so much better than there record. The Big East allows teams to really be physical. Also throw in Hurley's bad reputation with referees and its a recipe for them not to get calls. You can clearly see that with the fact that they are 16-0 and all games won by double digits in non conference. Not a coincidence folks
