How does one start generating sales in the beginning with zero reviews/sales? What would make someone want to buy your product when theres that same product that already has a bunch of good reviews and positive feedback? I would really appreciate any advice thanks!

Amazon is very complicated because I don't like how u have to fight for the buy box or something your buy box don't even show up. I mean like how the hell do u make a sales with no buy box?
I just started on ebay and am baffled. My buyers have paid 105.75 on books. ebay takes 14.55% of books. after spending $26 on shipping costs and taxes....I'm getting $56 out if the $105 that came in....am I missing something here?
These are amazing information. Thanks for comparing both. I did sell some items through ebay before and I did make more profit there than when I sold (individual account in amazon) my items on amazon since I only have few items.
Some of your info is incorrect. The ebay fees, in 2023, are more like 13%+ of all money collected (on product sales price, tax, and shipping) and they haven't been involved with Paypal for a while now. They now use managed payments, from which they collect all the money from the customer, including tax, take their fees off the top and then send you the net amount within a day to a month, depending on your payout preference to your checking account. They also now collect sales tax and remit it to the states, which is a great asset.
I am in Australia and my problem is that on Amazon Australia you can't list used books only new but I can add an item to Australia from the US Amazon . Weird. Often by the time I posted something to the US I would be in the red. It's frustrating
Does it make since in your opinion to test sell products on eBay and then sell them in bulk the ones that sell on ebay then turn around and sell those in bulk on Amazon maybe 100 to 200 units just to test the waters? Also does it automatically sell on there sites to anywhere in the world or am I limited to the US and if so what are the cost of selling globally vs regionals?
Yeah. I used both but I like eBay better. I worked for Amazon in the warehouse for 11 months. They paid really well but it really was like working on a slave ship. A very physical job where they work you to death. It's tiresome. Plus they treat us workers like we have no feelings (garbage). I had to get out of there & look somewhere else to work.
Plus selling on Amazon's platform is garbage for alot of small sellers. Way to many restrictions on to many brand items and they take way to long to get the money in your bank account. 2 to 3 weeks is no good sorry. Even with Paypal not being used for Ebay anymore you still get paid within 5 to 7 days and stuff seems to sell alot faster.
what if amazon FBM for selling $1000 I think eBay going to win because im gonna pay $250 shipping since amazon doesn't allow hazmat goods storage for free I have to store it by my own or what do you think?
