    Just for clarity - while the Common Reporting Standard (CRS) is an initiative of the OECD, membership of the CRS is not the same as membership of the OECD. A quick internet search suggests that CRS has 120 members whereas the OECD has 38.

    You say nothing will change yet recently bank's have recently stated under 50's will not be able to open bank accounts without buying the insurance. I have been here 20 years and turn 50 this month, it doesn't affect me but I see it is a shift in attitude. Who knows where it will end?

      I am over 58 with OA visa and no banks exept one did want to open an account for me...the bank that did it sold me the insurance

      Insurance for all over 55s is coming.try getting it at age 75+.make sure you have a plan B

    What about Thailand joining BRICS on Jan 1? I’ve heard and read several things stating Thailand joined BRICS as of Jan 1 25

      Thailand became a BRICS partner and not a member, partner is akin to being an observer but not officially part of the BRICS bloc.

    Nobody has heard of CRS or TIN in UK. In Singapore or others. HK dropped it after a couple of years

    I opened a bankok banking acc.5 years ago i needed to buy insurance.i thought what is this.5,000 bhat.im 70 this year.

      2 years ago i opend 3 bankaccounts,i denied by all the insurance, i said to them,this is not an obligation for open a account.
      Then they stopped talking about anymore!!!
