Rolls-Royce Cars were sold off years ago and are now owned by BMW. Rolls-Royce Aerospace is still British-owned and is the manufacturer, although the USAF B-52 contract is to build the engines in the USA for the security of US jobs.

@@hotdog9262 What? And what can BMW bring to RR on aero engine design? Retired RR engineer and I got to call BS on this comment.

So you basically just ripped the video from the official Rolls Royce video about these engines and started talking over it?

Please. I just want to be informed, not stirred up into a frenzy. Your narrator is good at what he does, but that is way, WAY too much excitement for delivering information on what is not actually a game-changer in the industry. The thrust of the F130 is Identical to the JT33 it replaces. That is 17,000lbs. It could be more, but would require a larger fan and they are trying to fit it into the existing nacelle. It is not a game-changer to improve fuel economy and ease of maintenance.

I stopped watching at 2:22 because you had already repeated yourself over and over and over. Too bad. It's a topic that interests me.

A B52 does not need an engine to provide passengers a safe and environmentally friendly ride. The B52 carries no passengers. It does not need a more powerful engine because the wings are stressed for the current TF33 engine's power. Nor does it need an engine to enhance its performance on bombing missions because it doesn't drop bombs anymore. It uses a variety of standoff weapons.
What a B52 needs is a new engine that provides reliable power over greater distances with improved fuel efficiency and improved maintainability. The F130 Rolls Royce engine seems to meet those criteria.

I gave up after 40 seconds with this guy!!! For one, RR has ALREADY been designing and building aircraft engines (for DECADES) to the highest standards and technology. It's like this American just DISCOVERED that RR makes aircraft engines!!!

Yep and the reference to RR cars and passengers in a B-52 is laughable.
