You can't compare apples with oranges. Mehndi hassan is not only about rendition or gayaki its about his voice, throw , expression which come from his gharana, riyaz and natural talent. Iqbal Bano is my favorite and highly classical but she does not have the natural talent that Mehndi Hassan has.

Iqbal bano's divine supernatural powers reflect in her vocals and traditional singing style. She was also slightly older than all of the other artists and I completely agree that it is her bravery that cost her her fame. Mehdi never could sing to high pitches to energize a mehfil, always the usual sleepy boring voice.
