No one ever does this song as a reaction... but its one of the best things they ever made. 💯 Thank you! 😎 And "No Marigolds in the Promised Land... there's a hole in the ground where they used to grow. And any man left on the Rio Grande is the King of the world, as far as I know" is one of the hardest lyrics that's ever been written. 💯
This song is easily in the Top 3 Steely Dan songs for me, along with Kid Charlemagne, Any Major Dude, and about 50 others. It was such a pleasure to see your reactions to the guitar call-and-response in the verses. You hit it on the head, they just don't fucking miss.
My favorite Steely Dan song!!! 💜 Pretzel Logic and Can't Buy A Thrill are fantastic albums. You should listen to the songs Any Major Dude Will Tell You and Pretzel Logic (Steely Dan blues)
Beautiful! Tre....as you have always said they are "the extraordinary men of the groove". You've just had trouble accepting it. Now you sound like you believe it! (hehe).Try "Everything Must Go" on for size. Love the new look and sound you got going on....
Sure, they slowed down the last couple of albums, but most of those nine albums are just chock full of pure extraordinary-gentlemen-of-the-groove genius, bar none.
It’s the difference in playing styles. For instance, that’s Baxter on the My Old School fills. Dias had the jazzier stuff- brought back as a session guy to play the killer solo on Your Gold Teeth II. Change of the Guard would be Baxter. I think he also did the slide stuff...and that is his sound as well on The Boston Rag.
No, people been asking that for years but it's called Fish Out Of Water Series getting out of your comfort zone unfamiliar territories "musically" speaking cause I use to only listen to Hip Hop and R&B music when I started
@@fishoutofwaterseries1424 Well you have truly widen your repertoire. Nothing wrong with hiphop and r&b of course. Im enjoying your content because you are truly for the music and emulating the feelings one have when encounter some fine ass music. Keep it real and God bless you!

Never heard a bad song by Steely Dan!

Peg is a great song. One of their best and most famous. Also "Do It again". I don't think you've done these yet?
Give a listen to "Gaslighting Abbie." A groove so deep your head might explode!
I think my man Skunk Baxter was dancing on those guitar strings for you.
More like Denny Dias.
@@hklinker Is that documented somewhere?

Definitely Denny Dias. All the bebop jazz solos are Dias
I love this song and subbed brother. Any chance your name is form the great Chris Squire?
