For the shark flex, it will be WAY easier if you hold the hair about 4-5 inches from THE END of the hair, instead of holding the end then trying to wrap it on the barrel. It will let the barrel do the auto wrapping. Took me a few try, but now, I literally do this on daily basis and it takes way less time than using my t3 curling iron! Good luck :)

Fantastic video!!! I wish I had watched it BEFORE I bought every. Single. Product. I have a lot of fine hair too (but my hair is wavy curly) and i like the shark much more than the Dyson. I think it’s a heat and tool battle. The shark gets hotter which I personally like but may be more damaging after years of use. I wanted the paddle brush and revlon style brushes for my straight days, the curlers for my wavy days and the diffuser for my curly days. Only the shark gave me all the tools I use with one device. I to love love the the Patrick Ta foundation duo. It lasts great on my fairly normal skin as well. This Haus Labs one is okay on me but not great and doesn’t last on my skin. I hate that brow gel, it’s just too much and I went back to my old brow routine (Kosas) and the brow freeze. As for the Westman Atelier, we’ll…. I bought biscuit and truffle 😵. The combo is great but like $130ish dollars so clearly not a combo I’ll repurchase. I spend way too much money for someone who isn’t an influencer 😂

I really love all your try out videos, they are light and fun❤ !! I have very fine hair that is pin straight but I love my Dyson. It took me a while but I figured it out for my hair! I think your hair is a bit too dry so its not 'heavy' enough to get sucked around the barrel. I can do 4 sections on each side if I wanna do it quickly but like it better with 6 or 8. The best trick to make it last issuing mousse before curling and a texture spray as finish. My curls last 4 days!

  • @vicmov
    @vicmov 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

I got my shark about two months ago and it was a struggle the first few times I used it. I have fine hair and I love my shark a ton! I will admit, it gets easier after time. Curlers wise, it seems to work best doing it guiding the hair from the ends up onto the styler, also HIGHLY recommend doing 10 secs hot then 10 secs cool blasting!

I really like the Shark side! To me it seemed more voluminous and like it held longer over time. I even paused the video before right before you used both dryers so that I would be unbiased.
But! I will say the product you used for "texturizing" your hair while looks great at first, when I've used it in people with fine hair (but lots of it) in the past it has almost seemed to attract humidity and made curls/volume fall totally out over time. I find that a very small amount of "strong hold" hair spray like "Tressamae", "Not your Mother's" (or even old school like "Rave") works 1000x better.

I think you prefer the Patrick ta side because it's higher coverage, as soon as you said the Haus labs wasn't as much Coverage you said you preferred the Patrick ta and that's probably why you think your skin looks more smooth and flawless on that side ,maybe the Haus labs is a good everyday medium to light coverage natural looking ,which is the type of makeup that's in right now or has been over the summer the Patrick ta more full coverage better for glam makeup but now we're in fall and coming up to winter more full Coverage foundations will probably be popular again ,so just depends on what finish and how much coverage you want on the day

( Cool water keeps color from fading out) If I curl my hair I use the long sponge roller things with curl setting gel spray it works so much better than a curling iron. And is usually perfectly set after I have my makeup done in less than 5 minutes.

@@ryanhaefs5421 from the feedback I got, yeah! As far as frizz and heat damage, it seemed like there was good feedback! It’s just unfortunate that the Dyson is so expensive

As an American I support Canada's petition. I think you just saved me a bunch of money because I also have a lot of fine hair and and if I spent 45 minutes doing my hair and it fell out that quickly I would cry. I guess I'm sticking to straighteners and hot rollers.

I would love a Like New Lululemon in Canada. It is such a great product but a lot of people cannot afford to buy new. Instead we rely on websites like Poshmark which is very overpriced. 😊

I love you Rach, but I feel like there are people who use the Dyson on a more regular basis and are much better at making it work for their hair. I also have to mention that it really does depend on the kind of hair that you have. My hair does fall a lot, but the curls last until I wash my hair again even without product. My hair holds a curl super well, so it might make sense that the Dyson works for me.
The Shark does seem comparable and much friendlier on the wallet+

I wanted the Hues Lab so badly! But I have a rosy undertone and I am a medium tone. All of her foundations shades are orange! Even the Sephora worker couldn’t help me find the shade even with their scanner. I ended up going with Nars with the help of the worker I got the perfect shade for me.
But the Hues Lab felt amazing on my hand, I am sure people that are able to wear it loves it. Specially dry skin people.

I have baby fine hair , and this confirmed I will not be buying either the Dyson or the Shark 😂 looks the same to me, so IF I wanted to splurge I would go with Shark . Thank you for doing this Rachel 😊

I have extremely fine hair and I’m currently dealing with alopecia and the Dyson saved my hair. I love Rachel, but the way she’s using it is wrong on so many levels. I have wayyyy less hair than her and I get crazy volume and nice bouncy curls that actually last.

About those air wrap things, I have very straight hair but if I just let my hair air dry with no product I would get the same loose curl like you had when you vane back after lunch. And mine was about the same length. For the last 5 years I've been buzz cutting my hair to 6mm every 4 weeks. It's so easy, I finally found the perfect haircut for my fine hair!

Yes I have longer hair and use the longer barrels on the Dyson. I can get a curl or just a blow out look depending on how I style it or what products are used. One note another review actually tested the temperature difference in the Shark/Dyson and the Shark is much higher heat and therefore could be damaging. I have not tested myself but the few reviews convinced me the shark was not for me. Yes I had to save up for my Dyson but also used my Ulta points and a sale at the time to get it. Please watch multiple reviews before making your choice. That being said still love you Rachel but I am guessing you don’t use the Dyson that much. Did not seem your cup of tea. Love your videos just wanted to add that viewpoint.Hope it helps.

Put on hair product prior to curling, no matter what you curl it with. It will keep the curls in much longer and give it longevity in your hair style. ❤️
