I've been a photographer for 9 years and just recently started pursuing my real dream of being a filmmaker and finally bought a Blackmagic 4K in November and have been deep-diving into color grading, editing in Resolve, etc. I subbed to your channel a while ago, mostly as a "bookmark" so I could come back to your videos, and over this past weekend I finally sat down and watched several of them in a row and dude, you are IT, bro. "Don't be a LUT bitch"--YES! I feel like I've been taking crazy pills over this LUT thing. All these TH-cam cats keep going on and on about LUTs and I'm like, "they're just filters for video? Am I missing something here? Why bother? Create your OWN look/style/aesthetic!" so to finally see someone else--as talented as you are--saying the same thing? Bro, yes. Thank you! I vibe so hard with so much of what you say. And your color management video for Resolve 17? GAME CHANGER. AND GRAIN!!! As a photographer I've been using grain for YEARS! Buying a 4k and getting Davinci Studio is worth it for the grain node alone!
    You rule, Qazi! Thank you!

Love these trainings. Question for you. Do you know any colorblind colorists? I’ve been doing photography/videography/and post professionally for over 10 years but have never fully dived into DaVinci because I’m red/green color-blind and figured, hey maybe this isn’t an area I should focus on. Do you know any successful colorblind colorists, or believe that a red/green colorblind person could still get by using scopes? Thanks!

I don't know if there are some famous colorblind colorists, but I believe if you keep working hard and put all your desire and passion into colorgrading, you'll definitely be the one!

If we have the key pulled, what drives us to use the Luminance Qualifier, opposed to just the Highlight wheel in the Primaries? Assuming the answer to that is "roll-off..."
If so, then could we just pull down the Gain? Just more control with Luminance Qualifier?

I have a question releated to this topic. With an A7iii i can record to maximum 109 IRE and in Resolve 16 i can pull the superwhites over 100.
But in the ver.17 with Davinci YRGB Color Managed and Davinci Wide Gamut selected, i couldn't be able to recover the information over 100. Has anybody information about this or it's just me being a rookie :)
