- This is my home. The home of Mike and Charisse Goforth, located in the thumb of Michigan. My husband is the pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, located right next door to us. We moved into the parsonage in 1995, but the home was built in the late 1800’s. It is a typical MI two story. I have a great passion for history, and love to decorate with that in mind. When I was first married, I had all “country” decor, but my time period has gone earlier and earlier. 1800’s to 1700’s to now. 1600’s Pilgrim. Living in a parsonage has its challenges, and living in MI means no period correct homes, so I make do. My husband has done all the work on the interior, from the ceiling to the wood floors to the fireplace and beams/braces. He has also made me several pieces of furniture around our home. Many of my period pieces have come from everyone’s sweetheart, the late Marion Atten, and a few recent acquisitions from the wonderful Jon & Jan Maggs and Patricia Thibeault-Ram. Many of my smalls were gifted to me by my sweet friends Carol Quindley and the late Bob Thebert. I absolutely LOVE all things pilgrim and the sacrifices made to live in our beautiful country. It will always be my passion, and I hope to leave that legacy with my children and grandchildren.

I can certainly appreciate the historical significance and the time it took to collect and curate all your pieces. You have done an amazing job bringing forth the pilgrim look. However, everything is devoid of color and the overall look is so dark and spartan. The chairs look very uncomfortable. I would need a warmer, cozier place to call home. But I do admire your efforts.
Your home has always been one of my all time favorites on this channel. But, I never really took the time to pay such close attention to the detailed work that your husband has done. God has blessed him with a super skill. ❤

I just found your channel...What a stunning home you have, you are truly blessed..I shared your channel with my girlfriend here in the Phoenix area, she too has a Pilgrim furnished home and had purchased many item's from Marion Atten. As she was a good friend of Marions and she misses her sorely.. Her name is Mary and she lives in a suburb of Phoenix. I know they would call each other all the time and talk for hour's, especially when Marion had cancer, as she was such a positive women. Mary has some lovey portraits, furniture and smalls from Marion..they were phone palls...

Just want to let you know that her home is not completely Pilgrim..each room is a different time period..I did send this video to her this morning, but I haven't heard back from her..but, that is not unusual as she is a very busy women...I will tell her to read this comment section and it will be her call about contacting you...Will let you know, Charisse, her decision..Have a good night..
