I noticed the same thing!! Ive gotten hair from them four times over the years (first time early 2017). My first wig was BEAUTIFUL and I absolutely loved the tiny little ringlets. I just recently (april 2021) got the goddess u-part for kurls wig and i was a little disappointed…the curls are not as coily as before. And you are absolutely right it is BIG hair, it expands a lot!!
It’s really sad! I’m sorry to hear that happened to you too. Who wants to throw away their coin?? I was a loyal customer. I just don’t trust them anymore.

Thanks you for your honesty. I purchased For Kurls a few years ago and received so many compliments. I was going to place an order this week. I would've been so disappointed. Hope they hear you. They had a fabulous product.
I find that professional haircolor with an aniline derivative works best with this hair as it is basically made curly chemically. Box dyes are metallic, and they can make the hair dry, and it could fry it. I love Heatfree Hair. I use a creme by Tigi for curl definition and Laran foam wrap. FYI. I've had this hair last me for years.
That’s really helpful, thank you for sharing. I do think mine looked dry from the package though. Something was just off. Also, I used boxed dye with it in the past. I’ll certainly look into using that hair color for my future curly bundles. TY

Ok so I do think they’re quality went down, BUT check out my vacation vlog. After a few Aussie conditions, it did perform better….I’m still 👀 them though.
Thanks so much for your review. I’m definitely not trying to spend my hard earned coin on hair that’s no longer the same quality it used to be. I hate once companies blow up the quality of their product changes.... ugh!!!! Thanks again queen. BTW, you made the hair do what it do though in the end.
Agreed! It’s so unfortunate. I keep hoping it was just my batch, but idk. Thank you! I tried. Also, after a bunch of deep conditioning, it has been performing better. I’m making it work. Thanks for watching ❤️
I have worn this hair since they came out years ago, you guys are right the quality was BETTER then! I love this hair as to why I keep buying however, I have had some mishaps with shedding, matting and thin wefts. I have complained and is really annoyed with them taking advantage of their loyal customers. They claim they manufacture their own hair now (side eye).
Do anyone know of any alternative hair companies with the same curl patterns but better quality? I am ready to take my money elsewhere and so sorry you had to go through this! This hair is way to expensive for this kind of stress!

I have, what seems to be the exact hair from a different vender at 1/3 cost. Hoped this hair would be better but…. I’ll check my order history and comment with the vendors name. I won’t review it. Seems to me, great reviews lead to massive purchasing and lesser quality down the line 🤷🏽

Unfortunately, I had the same issues with their hair. Extremely disappointed. I ordered the Kurl, it matted and shedded tons. I assumed I received a bad batch so I ordered the Koil it was much better but it too matted not as bad as the kurl. I have worn kinky hair for 2 decades, their hair is not worth the money charged for their hair. Its beautiful but not great once wet.
It was once the perfect curly hair. It’s so unfortunate. They’ve lost a customer.
Hi! I just bought hair from HFH and your review is exactly how I feel about the hair when I first received it 😭 I bought it during their Black Friday Sale, this is my very first time buying from them but NOT MY FIRST TIME BUYING KINKY COILY hair. I emailed, spoke to someone, they keep telling me that because I colored the hair, it may have changed the texture of the hair. They refuse to account for the fact that the hair IS NOT VIRGIN AS THEY CLAIM. It feels like plastic. Now they said to use minimal products, I’m willing to try but I am so disappointed especially after spending $620 (I got 3 18inches bundles). It’s not even blending with my hair. I don’t even know anymore
That’s so unfortunate! That’s a lot of money. My heart hurts reading the amount of customer service is lame and so is the hair sorry to say. They took no accountability with me either. I’ve moved on to another company. Video coming soon!
Agreed and the fact they do not exchange hair purchased during a sale is very telling about the hair they provide for sales.
@mwalissa where would you recommend buying curly wefts from? I’m trying to buy hair I can bleach to 27 but I’m having a hard time finding quality bundles

I wish I watched this before my purchase. Just received my ponytail which arrived very frizzy at the ends. I wasn’t sure if this is Normal for this particular brand. I’ll wait on washing/conditioner till I hear back from them. Thanks for your review

Same result. I used to wear this hair in a sew in and I just bought the clip ins and now it's frizzy too. I came here to figure out what I was doing wrong. But I'm glad to know it's the hair. I'm going to complain as well. This is a shame because I lived this hair too
It is a shame. Honestly they didn’t do anything to rectify the situation. Hopefully you’ll have better luck. In the meantime, I’ve gotten the hair to look/perform better. Try the Aussie coconut conditioner a few times a week along with the products shown to quench the curls.

I wish that I'd watched 👀 this video before my purchase. I ordered a 12 inch ponytail of the kurls that was really 6 inches UNTIL YOU STRAIGHTENED it. I called them and the only solution was to send it back and pay more money 💰 for 18 inches...lol bad business

Lol girl that's how kinky curly works. I'm going to comment at the top because it seems like this was everyone's first kinky curly experience. Unlike onychair, who gives you a map as to how to do it, you're prepared.
I’m sorry that happened to you. It says on the site that it’s measured straight. I’ve purchased curly hair LOTS in the past so I was already aware. I’m sorry you just found out with this expensive purchase but hopefully it looked great anyway

I though so too! I ended up buying and returning it. It was slightly too coarse. With the right products, I blend pretty well with this one. I’ve cracked the code now lol. TYSM for watching ♥️

Wow, I am so thankful for your review. I was going to buy because they are black owned and I wanted to give my sista 's support. However, the quality has to be there. I feel like you had to use way too many products. I am a wash and go girl myself. I feel like if I have to use more than 1 Product the hair is not going to be of high quality.
I just recently purchased some hair. I have not even worn the hair yet, I just washed it.. it was NON-STOP SHEDDING omg.
That’s awful! It’s so unfortunate that people are still experiencing this. Try sealing it and let it sit in conditioner for a while. Conditioner will be your friend. The hair is super thick, so it’ll take a lot to look thin.
I just received my For Kurls headband wig and it was nice and coily although the inconsistencies in texture and quality you're describing are concerning. I will likely not consider a second purchase based on this review.

I found that once I trimmed the ends of the hair, it became much more manageable. The styles turned out much sleeker and defined. Just like our natural hair, this curly hair needs to shed a bit of dead weight! ❤️
I could totally see that working. The ends seemed problematic. Deep conditioning worked for me! It was pretty as long as I threw a bunch of conditioner in it often.
Hey Emily, thank you so much for posting this video! I love Heatfree hair actually and I use them all the time. I do have to admit that my experience is the same with Kurls. I actually don't like this texture at all. I have done everything on Earth to make it less frizzy, soft and tangle free with no success. I'm so happy a friend told me to look up to see if anyone used this hair and I found your video. Can you also list the products in the info as well? I already bought the Knot Today and Silicon Mix. I was already planning to remove my extensions this Saturday but now that I seen you video, I will try again with this hair. Your results look pretty by the way. I'm still a diehard Heatfree Hair fan but I will never buy Kurls again lol. I will stick to Blowout and Koils. I liked Koils, even though it doesn't match my texture. But Kurls is just not what it is. It's a tangled mess. I hope to share my results tonight when I tackle this hair lol😂🙏🏾
You’re welcome! Glad I could help. I saw not too many videos existed out there. I only used the Aussie shampoo and 3 minute miracle on top of the others you listed. It brought it back a bit, but still not what it used to be. I hope you’re able to get a few months out of it!
There hair has definitely changed. And they don’t want to admit. I purchased and my for kurls looked like for kinks. I emailed and I was told that because I purchased during a sale it was final and could not be returned. This makes me think that the sale hair is of lower quality and thus reason for the sale. Which is very sad. Very disappointed and they didn’t offer any other solutions.
I’m sorry for your experience! I wholeheartedly agree. It was the lack of solutions for me. It was so disappointing. They’ve lost a customer in me and from the comments, many others!

I just received my hair from this company after seeing your video. The hair is hard and it’s shredding right out of the package. I’m so disappointed.

I’ve had the same problem with my hair from them. It’s been months and I’ve tried everything but the hair gets dry and sheds really easily
Try the Aussie conditioner and the Avanti silicon mix hair treatment. They made the hair more manageable.
I dont know if you will see this comment. Im a long time customer and i had recent troubles with my last order in 2023. They only gave me tips for maintenance and strongly suggested i use their haircare line. Is there a similar brand that you recommend?
I bought hair from Curls Queen and I absolutely love it. The texture was completely different so it took some getting used to but it’s holding up really well.

Dam. Going through this now after I ranted and raved about the hair. No shedding but definitely matted. Bought For Kurls clip ins....almost $800.00 just to be disappointed 2 weeks in.

I bought clip in’s from them and they feel like straw not human hair. Your supposed to be able to dye straighten etc but I water colored mine black and the heat from steaming water seemingly stripped whatever smoothing agent they use on the hair. It was no longer soft. Very brittle and shedding and idk how to fix. Im so irritated
Ugh! That’s awful. I’m sorry this happened to you too. Try sitting it in some deep conditioner in a plastic bag for a few days. Hopefully you can rejuvenate it a bit. I have little faith in this hair now, but dc did come through for me.
Sis, why didn’t you use the products they have for the hair on the HFH page they suggest? I’ve had 0 issues due to using their hair products. I love them!
Hey girlie, I did and they never worked for me like these products. I bought this hair several times and never had this issue. What actually ended up working was the Aussie conditioner.
@emilywilliams2328 I'll definitely add that to the list for future needs. I recently purchased this hair and I've been using a mixture of products plus the sealant from HFH and I've truly enjoyed things so far. Thanks for that extra tip!

I stopped doing the twist out technique and did it wash and go and it ended up blending nicely ♥️

What happened? Did you get a refund or exchange? I wish your review was recent. The only current reviewer (3 months ago) says she isn’t sponsored but it seems obvious that negative comments are deleted. Can you do an update to show how the this particular hair has held up?
Unfortunately, the customer service with this particular situation was poor. They did nothing but tell me how to care for it and stressed the fact that the quality hasn’t changed. I used conditioner often and it was fine. I have a vacation video in Cabo that shows the hair during my trip. I went back to my old heat free bundles from years ago (shown in my newest video). I haven’t worn the hair again since.

I’m not sure, but I don’t think so. They just say that it’s manufactured “in-house”. Whatever that means.

Yes and did nothing but give me care tips on hair I’ve cared for several times...They also said the hair is made in-house and nothing has changed.

@@dbswaistbeads Got mine, it does tangle in the back quite a bit, I’ve noticed that when I sit under the dryer instead of letting it air dry it doesn’t tangle as bad and also braiding it in sections helps when sleeping in it overnight. I know it’s “high maintenance” but for $500+ idk if it’s worth the money. I don’t have that much experience with kinky curly hair so I’m pretty disappointed because they are all pretty expensive.
