    Thank you for this recipe, I appreciate how easy and low cost it is! Most iced coffee recipes I've seen use 30+ grams of coffee and that's too many beans and mg of caffeine to justify for myself only 😅

    How does it taste. I'm really curious about the taste of poured over coffee.

    • @TheBasicBarista
      @TheBasicBarista  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Pour over coffee tastes very different depending on the beans and brewing style, but if I was to describe pour over coffee to someone who never has tasted it before.
      Generally, pour over coffee is light, and often described as tea-like. A well brewed pour over coffee has a balance of sweetness, acidity, body (texture of coffee) and flavours.
      The recipe in this video is for iced pour over coffee and still maintains most of these flavours and characteristics but is super refreshing.
      I hope this helps answer your question and I hope that you can taste these coffees one day :)

    • @TheBasicBarista
      @TheBasicBarista  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ideally it is best to drink it straight away, If you are looking to store a cold coffee drink it may be worth looking into making a cold brew concentrate.
      But you should be able to store iced pour over coffee for a week or so, it is just black coffee at the end of the day :)
      Hope this helps answer your question!
      Happy brewing

    Great video! How fine is the grind? Medium-fine or medium-coarse?

    • @TheBasicBarista
      @TheBasicBarista  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Yousif,
      I used 22 clicks on the Comandante but I also used the Cafec filters that helped slow down the brew a bit, I recommend starting at a medium grind size and then push towards finer. Especially as you have less water to brew with I found it tastes better with a finer grind rather then more corse.
      Good luck and always adjust by how it tastes :)

    Ice is part of your water-coffee ratio , having 150 grams of ice is a lot. Because the ice is still not melted, so your coffee-water ratio is not good. U have too much coffee grams to water.
    For an example, I will use 30 g coffee and 150 grams ice and hot water would be 330. That’s a perfect combination so once u finish your last pour , the ice will be almost melted away. Then u can add ice to your cup and drink your coffee with small pours but perfect taste. 🎉

      @TheBasicBarista  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey mate, thanks for watching my video!
      I did 22 clicks on the Comandante for this coffee but please keep in mind that the first thing I change when dialling in a new coffee is the grind size so what tastes good for me might be different for you with the coffee you use.
      Hope this helps ☺️

    Why the spritz of water, won't that rust your burr or w.e over time

    • @TheBasicBarista
      @TheBasicBarista  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Harley,
      Thanks for watching and cheers for your comment.
      The spritz of water adds a tiny amount of moisture to your beans, when you grind coffee the moisture drastically reduces your grinders static retention.
      This method is called RDT and it will no rust Comandante burrs or add any more wear that grinding with out RDT
      would cause.
      This is the best I could answer your question but if you are interested check out the video I linked below, James Hoffman talks a bit more about this method.
      th-cam.com/video/T0Dh1W40ILY/w-d-xo.html

    • @TheBasicBarista
      @TheBasicBarista  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      hmm I'm not sure how this is possible as the ice melts over time slowly diluting the coffee ... I think your brew may have broken physics.
      Jokes aside, try grinding a little finer to increase the water - coffee contact time.

    Why do you swall your V60 as you are making it

    • @TheBasicBarista
      @TheBasicBarista  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching!
      I find it helps to remove the grinds stuck on the wall of the V60 and bring them back down to the bed of coffee.
      I do this for most of the coffees I brew with however I find it isn't a good idea to do this with coffees that are prone to choking.
      Hope this helps ❤️

    • @TheBasicBarista
      @TheBasicBarista  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Haha I guess we just have a different approach to brewing :)
      I am curious as to why you don't swirl? Is this because of the fines migration? or Increased agitation?

    • @ahmadalqurashi3606
      @ahmadalqurashi3606 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@TheBasicBarista so my goal is to let the beans breathe when blooming and let it release its gases so that the coffee notes and taste can be more intense and less biter, so swirling at blooming stage wouldn’t be the best, also, water temp plays crucial part in bitterness, the more water temp the more bitter the coffee will be, so the best temp for me is between 85c to 90c. I’m saying that because it’s been 2 years now drinking iced V60 coffee daily. At the end, it’s all preferences so yall keep experimenting and reach your best coffee for you ♥️👍
