Well actually, the "Themes" service died as the computer was crashing, this service is the one responsible for changing the windows theme to the users preference, if this service isn't running windows uses the default theme, which for XP is the classic theme, if you are running windows 7 you can do this in Task manager by stopping the Themes service in the Services tab

uhm technically it isn't from 3.1 to 11, you missed: -95 -NT 3.1, 3.5 -8 (altough it doesn't really count, there is 8.1) -Windows 10 up to 18xx (idk what that version was...)

same, ive only gotten one bsod unexpectedly in my life as of my recent memory, most bsdos are intentional. i once ejected a wintousb usb with windows 7 and it crashed immediately
Back when we used to be scared of those old bsods because of that weird sound it makes. The new bsods are just not that scary anymore. They just use this stupid :( face

tbh sometimes they can jumpscare you if you have audio playing when it crashes (the audio will glitch and buffer heavily)
