Douglas Fisher my life would not be complete with out my wife and kids i would not have it any other way i still have time to play my synths I do thangs by the book.
In ‘78 we opened up an ARP. We found a Moog component inside buried in epoxy. This was done at the Moog Factory in Cheektowaga, NY. I still love the sound that Tony Banks (Genesis) and Neil Larson would get.
That creamy, full, bubbling sound, I recognize it a mile away... this is without doubt one of the finest pieces of electronic instruments ever created. Alas, they are already sold out here in Sweden, so I will need to stay in the queue hoping for a second batch.
A flagship reissue that will stand out for years and years! So nice to see Daniel meeting the 2600 for the first time, I really hope he will make a follow up video "after the deep dive". This synth deserves a super in-depth review.
Holy baby jesus...Hallelujah! FINALLY Korg came thru with the ARP 2600. I owned an orange face that I bought new back in the 70's. Cross your fingers that they offer it in orange face. If you're into analog synths, this is the holy grail. I'm so excited I think I might pee myself. I've been looking at an original 2600, but it's $15,000.00 . Happy camper here.
It also comes with a long hair wig, stretch bell bottom slacks, pre-stained suede vest, peace sign medallion necklace, non corrective curved trapezoidal turtle frame glasses, and translational phrase book so you can say essential terms like “far out” and “groovy” and sound authentically 70’s hip
Astonishing synth. Character all of its own. Wonderful review that concentrated on how it sounds. Most synths to date elicit a "that's nice " or that's "really nice" response from me. The ARP 2600 is a complete knockout. Thanks for the demo.
Daniel Fisher on every single synth video: "You know I just got this thing in this morning, it didn't even come with any information, it's a prototype, I have a sick job, you can look at other videos if you want instructions, I really just want you to hear the thing..." [Lays down a sick, 30-minute synth-noodle delirium.]

Well you should be thrilled (as I am!) that Behringer just announced their "2600" and it's gonna be $599! I know it's not the replica. But regardless, a 3-oscillator semi-modular with slider controls and configured like a 2600 for 600 bucks? Yes please, I'll take two!
Thanks for the demo. Really appreciated the mic demo. The speaker sound was very close to direct. It is really hard not to click on the Pre-Order button.
it's such an amazing device! i can hear a clear difference between line and speaker signal... there is a kind of echo while playing the speakers, especially in the heights part... but i guess it's because of the wrong mic position. the correct mic position is very important when picking up the sound and i even think there weren't any sound absorbers in the room. at least it sounds like that.
Always wanted a ARP 2600 but could never afford one so I went the eurorack direction. With eurorack I have the choice of thousands of filters types, LFO's, OSC, etc and I can build the synth to my liking one step at a time as money becomes available.
I wish they’d reissued the orange on black color scheme I used to learn on in the 1970’s, but this is totally killer. Damn shame I’m outta room in the studio.
After the somewhat disappointing (to me) performance by BT and Richard Devine at NAMM at the Korg booth I had to come back and rewatch Daniel's awesome demo. It's a real shame that the beast is already sold out everywhere. BTW: I don't think this is/was overpriced at ~$3,900 at all. Compare it to the MiniMoog re-release from a few years back, which originally sold for $3700. With the ARP you get an equally iconic analog synth from the early '70s with a much superior feature set. Plus a built-in sequencer/arpeggiator and a full blown flight case.
Hi prozak morris. Back in 2014 I rode to a motorcycle rally in Chicago where there was a booth giving away free haircuts as long as you were willing to get a Flat Top. Everyone's comments were so positive that I've had one ever since. Thanks for watching! - Daniel Fisher

@Darkice Presents Yes Behringer will beat them on price. But not on the accuracy and quality of the rebuild. From what I understand, Korg recreated it with as much as possible the original components. In that sense it compares more to something like the recreated Moog Model 15, which was a lot more expensive, though. The Behringer version will be more like a modern redesign from a technical point of view and use mass produced and much cheaper SMD circuits, which can be build with a lot of automation in the factory. The Korg version, will likely last you 40+ years, as the original did with not too difficult repair options. The SMD design will likely not last you that long and will be very difficult or impossible to repair. But it will be a lot cheaper, I'm sure.
@@powermix24 -- Yes, surely the Behringer version will be more affordable. Maybe they won't include the built-in speakers which will shave a few dollars/Euros off their cost and the eventual price. Nice as these little speakers are, I could live without them. It will be interesting to see what else Behringer does differently. I expect to see several side-by-side comparisons, as people have done with KARP/BARP Odyssey machines.
@@powermix24 Weird, because the Behringer Odyssey not only gave the ability to select which filter to use, but also had an arpeggiator and built in TC Electronics effects, which the Korg version did not have. Are you sure it was only price?
Demon Dan! You crushed it! Enjoyed the video. The sounds reminded me when I was abducted by a UFO in 1972 in Utah. Those oscillators caused me PTSD. Anyways, great job. What will these sell for? $700-$800? May have to sell the chicken manure farm to buy this thing.
