The cutoff to signon for a block late is 15 minutes. If you can't make it, just drop the block. If you are "absent" for even one block, this will knock you down to 3rd choice pickings on blocks for at least a week (you need 100% attendance). However, you only need to keep 90% of your blocks (meaning drop 10% or less) in order to have first access.
You are in my market and I've seen you before, however you leave the most important factor out of this video. First and foremost, you should have a gas economic car or hybrid, that's the fastest way to make the most money as a majority of your pay WILL be spent on gas. Also when you talk about the mileage deduction, that's a federal tax deduction, not a state deduction. It's the same 54.5 cent rate regardless of the state, even more of a reason to drive a hybrid.
@@Cjmboo the vid is on how to maximize your earnings. I would agree with @ F0l2saken1 that gas efficiency is one of the most important factors and you probably should either try another job or trade in your car if your vehicle is not gas efficient.
I loved working in State College. The drivers were cool as hell and a lot less driving than the larger area I moved to. Are you a student? I started as junior at Penn State
@@AntennaManI am not a student at Penn state but I started watching video on TH-cam about making extra cash with grubhub and doordash and I thought it was a great idea. So I signed up for grubhub and the State College Area was the closest to me. Two weeks later I got my delivery bags and set up my schedule I live about a hour north of State College.
If you aren't on 14 minutes into your shift they drop you and it takes 30 days to get it off your account. Great video! Check out Paid to Drive channel. Great tips and great group of drivers.
How do you make money from Grubhub and these apps? What percentage goes to the drivers? On average how much. Do they calculate only the total amount of the order, or is the distance of your ride calculated as well. If so, what is the rate that you make?
How do you see what the tip is on the GH app? I only see the total payout. I also don't see the mileage so I don't know how many miles it is. DoorDash shows this but GH doesnt.
Uber eats keeps you busy get a lot of deliveries during peak hours so they are reliable that way, they just pay nickels. Grub hub i just started not sure how busy i will be in my area yet, but so far so good and i like the min pay they give when you dont get deliveries so you not wasting time uber eats do not do this....yet. Caviar pays well, real good just rarely get deliveries.
Jeanette please I beg you to be wise on minimum wage. 1 order per hour flow is great on minimum wage 2 or more per hour is a waste of your precious time.
Ok people dont follow his tips so wasteful. Food delivery Bussiness is very simple. The more orders you deliver the more money you make. Do whatever it takes to deliver orders in 25 minutes tops from getting the order to complete the delivery. DO WHATEVER IT TAKES. 29mpg car a must. Caffeine in your body is a must as well. if you feel lazy, cant run, drive like an old man, please stay at home and get cozy. You are welcome for the tip.
You should create one and every time you pass a driver in a restaurant tell them about it and watch it grow. I can't tell you how many times the group has come in handy with traffic tips plus it's great to find common ground on issues and experiences within your market.
Now I'm wondering how do you know when the next week's schedule is up?? I've been trying to figure it out. And I've wanted to do the same thing that he mentioned. To set and alarm close to or right when the schedule for the next week opens. But I can't figure out when the updated schedule for the next week gets posted. SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE TIPS ON THIS BECAUSE ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY!!
Bueno Killer on ur phone app. The schedule goes to Monday on scheduled blocks. You make your schedule from the available blocks. New blocks are available on Thursday or Friday or Saturday depending on YOUR program level.. Your pay is from Monday to Sunday and it's for the prior week. Hope this helps...
Check the "Program Level" tab on the app. It should tell you when blocks go available. You can also enable push notifications and be notified when they do.
All the platforms ask up front for direct deposit for payment. GH never asked. I emailed them my numbers and still haven't been paid for last week? How often do they pay...really confused
GrubHub pays every week on Thursdays. There is a tab in the app where you can submit your deposit info. If not, contact your driver specialist. Don't stress if you missed a week, I did when I started too, i just got that money in the next payday. You didn't lose it.
@@AntennaMan Thank you! I was wondering if it would absolutely tank my phones monthly. Thanks! Im considoring applying for Grub Hub, Is there anything that they wont higher someone for?
Very nice video. One complaint. And it's not just you, but every video like this. Unless someone can produce the identity of one single person who works on these platforms who was audited by the IRS, I don't wanna hear about taxes. When I'm making mf 11 grand a year, I ain't trippin on that. These videos seem to indicate Ubereats and Grubhub drivers are constant targets of the IRS and I know that can't possibly be the case. Nice work though bro.
the standard deduction is $12k, so you wouldn't owe taxes anyway--you're still legally *supposed* to file, but only get in trouble when you owe money you haven't filed. But many people who do this job earn more than that per year. I'm currently doing it full-time, so if I just decided not to file taxes, there's a good chance I'd have someone knocking on my door eventually. This is because GH is legally required to report to the IRS any earnings that go above $600 for the year (1099) So they know if you don't file!
On paper Grub Hub and Door Dash seem like a great idea, but in practice is does not work well. The Drivers are getting paid almost only in tips and the wear and tear on their vehicles occurs faster which means more maintenance bills. Since the Drivers are independent contractors they can reject any order that they deem not profitable which means there's a chance the Customer will not get their order. There's also many reasons why the food could be cold upon delivery whether it's the restaurant or Driver's fault. Due to my experiences with these companies I will only do delivery if the restaurant employs it's own Drivers that deliver only for them and not hundreds of other restaurants.
I think you're exaggerating expenses a little bit. As long as you can keep your expenses below 54 cents per mile, you can write them all off, and most people with decent cars aren't spending that much. And you would be paying the exact same expenses working as an employee as long as your using your personal vehicle. This year, W-2 Employees cannot write their miles off, so delivery drivers for companies like Dominos, Jimmy Johns, Bite Squad, etc are getting really screwed big time. Customers also aren't always served in those companies because they have a small delivery radius, so if you live too far away, you cannot order delivery at those restaurants, even if you are willing to pay extra for it. On GH if you live far out of the way, you can offer a bigger tip which drivers see before accepting to make sure your order gets delivered. Drivers also are required to take deliveries, so that puts them at risk. If your restaurant that you work at delivers to not so safe areas, you HAVE to take those orders, and you aren't allowed to carry any kind of Personal Defense like pepper spray either. Some employers claim that you don't need to take orders if you don't feel safe, but any employee will tell you thats just legalese to cover their own asses, and you'll probably lose your job if you refuse to serve someone. Also, Services like GH enable resturants to offer delivery without needing to hire on extra staff to do so. Its easy to just get a tablet set up and start taking delivery orders. I think objectively speaking, 3rd party apps like GH are far superior to delivery employees.
