The one you asked in Sing For You is Chanyeol. Imagine, EXO's main rapper slaying a ballad! Monster has a dance practice but live stage is fire as always. Auto tune in Lotto is just for effects, we all know exo doesn't need it. In dancing King, Jae Suk famous host/comedian in Running collaborated with exo. It's part of the show INFINITE CHALLENGE where he was challenged to perform live with exo in a concert. He sang and learned the choreography and performed with exo concert in Thailand if I'm not mistaken. The pink animal toy is SM's Mascot.

Lightsaber live in concert is epic. A must watch for sure..
Note: EXO live performances are better than the MVs that's why most EXO-L prefer the lives than MVs. They also have live albums from their concerts where you can hear their raw vocals.
I think the auto tune in Lotto is used only for style and creating the vibe. In live performances, they don't use it..
The thing with EXO is that they are never afraid of trying new things (especially genres of music). You'll see so far they've done almost all of it; R&B, pop, hip hop, EDM, retro, ballad, rock, dance, etc. You can find even more in their B-sides.

Some fans say that Lotto had soo much auto tune because that was the year antis keep saying EXO are lip sincing because they dont want to admit how great the vocal kings can sing both production and live. so Lotto was made with so much auto tune to prove how they sound like with it and notice that was the ONLY mv they did this then went back to regular them singing just to prove a point :)
      stan talent, stan EXO.

"Sing For You" is literally, as the title says, EXO singing to EXO-L and some say the MV and song are about how the members feel and how they are dealing with Kris, Luhan and Tao leaving the group. The members really felt like they let fans down during this time and that they broke their promise to always be one. (EXO's slogan is "We Are One." Which represents how even as sub-units they were one group and they are one with the fans, etc. So, when the Chinese members left, the rest of the members felt like as a group they broke that promise.) So this song was a promise and apology song.
This was so far from simple times for the members of EXO. This was probably one of the hardest times for EXO and EXO-Ls.
That's why you see Chanyeol and Suho get in a fight, because as the leader, Suho really blamed himself for not being able to keep the group together and Chanyeol is pretty much yelling at Suho to stop blaming himself and that there is no point because Kris, Luhan and Tao made their own choices and there is nothing he could have done about it even if he wanted to, etc. They are all angry and sad because they felt like they were all so blindsided by everything that happened because the members who left didn't really say anything to anyone before they decided to leave. A lot happened during this time, and there was so much uncertainty about what it meant for the group, etc.
In the beginning you see them happy because this was after they have worked through their anger and are now learning to move on. The parts where you see them sad and angry are flashbacks to recent moments where they were still working through their feelings of anger and sadness.
In the end of the MV you start to see them being happy and playing around as friends again because they were learning to get past it all and move on and they made the choice to let it go and to keep singing for us, EXO-Ls. :)
The whale seems kind of weird until you discover the meaning behind it all, and then it shows how clever and meaningful they were with the concept. The whale is supposed to represent Alice a.k.a. "The Loneliest Whale in the World", who is an unidentified whale species, she is the only whale that has been found to emit a call at a really high frequency which means that when she speaks there might not be any other whales that can hear her or answer her back.
Sehun is the one who is in the spacesuit and he is supposed to represent the lonely feeling you get floating all alone in space. The astronaut comes from the story/poem about an astronaut who spent 48 minutes alone in his spaceship as he came back to Earth and how he said that those 48 minutes were the longest and most lonely of mankind.
The combination of these two concepts, along with the lyrics of the song, talk about being away from home, being somewhere unfamiliar (since the whale and astronaut are in space) and being isolated from everything and everyone. Isolation is one of the themes within the MV. The song and the MV seems to talk about how everyone, in their lifetime, will reach a low point where they feel most isolated and like they don't belong or don't fit in, etc. But as the song says, EXO promises that this song and the members will be there to warm listeners', and especially EXO-Ls, hearts.
Most of the time when you saw the member in the video they were the voice you could hear singing in the song. The more you get to know EXO, the more you will be able to pick out their voices without having to even see their face. I can tell who is singing in every part of this MV. :D But if you want to see who is singing each part of this song you need to watch a lyric video that shows all the members as they point out who is singing each line of the song.

Fan theories believe that "Lotto" is the prequel to "Monster." "Monster" is from EXO's EX'Act album and "Lotto" is from their EX'Act repackaged album. So, to understand the story in "Lotto" and "Monster" you have to connect the two storylines. How I interpret things is that the story starts in "Lotto" as EXO goes undercover and works to take down the gambling ring, which is thought to probably be run by the Red Force, and now that we know about EXO's clones, from their "Obsession" storyline, maybe even X-EXO are involved.
You may have noticed that you don't see Kai dancing in the "Lotto" MV. Lay -- EXO-M's main dancer -- and Sehun -- one of EXO-K's main dancers -- are the dancers highlighted in "Lotto." Kai was injured during this time and couldn't dance.
You might also notice that in some live TV network performances of "Lotto" that they change the title of the song to "Louder" and the lyrics are changed to use the word louder instead of lotto as well. Gambling is illegal in Korea and it's one of those things that are banned from being talked about in mainstream media. So in order to make the song TV- and radio-friendly they had to change everything to "Louder."
I think the two stories in both "Lotto" and "Monster" actually overlap. I think both MVs take place in the same location and around the same time frame, and in each MV you see the members in different moments as they try to destroy everything to do with this gambling ring. You see them breaking everything in both MVs and you see them smash the car in "Lotto" and in "Monster" you see the car has now been set on fire, and they burn the money and other things in "Lotto" as well, etc.
At the end of "Lotto" you see the police or FBI have come in and are just starting to take the members into custody, but as you see in "Monster" it shows all the members have now been arrested. So I see it as the fight starts in "Lotto" and continues in "Monster." At the end of "Monster" all the members were now in custody and Baekhyun rescues them as he releases them from the back of the police van allowing them to escape, etc.
In "Monster" I think it shows how the EXO members have somehow infiltrated this big gambling ring and are maybe sort of undercover as they work to uncover a clue or something they need in order to accomplish their tasks here on Earth.
So the floating watch and the car that is on fire in reverse in "Monster", etc., I think was -- on top of being a metaphor in the story -- also supposed to be the members using their superpowers. And the snake you see is supposed to mirror the beat of the song and theme of the MV. So, like a monster, the beat of the song kind of slithers like a snake as a metaphor for the way the guy slithers in and out of the relationship stealing warmth and affection from the girl, but in the end, leaving her cold and alone like a cold-blooded snake. (The snake is red to represent the Red Force, not black like the Black Mamba, however, they could be partners or connected in some way.)
If you want to follow EXO's storyline, some other scenes in "Monster" to take note of: You see Lay crouched in the middle of what looks like a pile of people -- I'm not sure whether these are the FBI agents that the members of EXO have taken down, or if these are members of the Red Force -- and I think he is checking to make sure they are OK and possibly trying to use his power of healing to fix things and heal the injured.
Because some theories believe that EXO are traveling between time periods and dimensions, I believe in "Monster" they also might be showing how some of the members are arriving on scene at different moments in the timeline of events that are taking place -- the members don't necessarily arrive at the location together. For instance, you also see Kai standing on or near a giant pile of people as well, and he seems to be standing over them. Some have pointed to this as possibly showing evil X-EXO Kai -- Kai's alter ego clone -- who has done something bad, but I think this may be showing good EXO Kai, who has just shown up at that moment, observing what has taken place. Because Kai has the power of teleportation, he is the one that is in charge of bringing the members together and traveling between time and space, so I think he has shown up from a different time or place and is now trying to figure out what has happened and what needs to be done to fix things, etc.
The birds you see in the cage in "Lotto" are cock fighting roosters, which are another form of gambling. And the dogs are probably guard dogs like what criminal enterprises use as part of their security to deter someone from causing trouble or wanting to rob them, etc. The dogs are thought to be part of the Red Forces' security efforts. It's just another form of evil that comes with gambling.
Also, in the "Obsession" MV we see EXO are the members in all black and X-EXO are the members in the colorful outfits. So, if you notice, in "Monster" the members are all in black for part of the MV (In "Monster" we also see EXO in black and red outfits, which we have now started to think is supposed to be X-EXO in those scenes because of the red on their clothes), and in "Lotto" they are pretty much in black or dark neutral colors, so that is why I think the story is being depicted from EXO's point of view.
We are not really sure what the girl takes from Chanyeol at the end of "Lotto", but it definitely wasn't money. If you pay attention to the lyrics in "Lotto", one of the English lines is, "I don't need no money." That is why they burn the huge stack of cash. Most theories agree that the currency that EXO values the most is flowers. There is an overwhelming use of flowers in many of their MVs.
Ultimately, I think what EXO are trying to do is rescue the girl from the Red Forces or the bad guys, but they are trying to do it without blowing their cover or being found out. So, that's why you see in "Lotto," and continued in "Monster," the members are fighting against the FBI or police because the police have come in to take down the gambling ring and rescue the girl just like EXO. The members of EXO don't want to be discovered, so they play along as if they are part of the bad guys.
My theory is that the girl is somehow connected to EXO's quest to find and protect the Tree of Life and that is why at the end of "Lotto" you see her secretly take something -- which if you pause the MV and zoom in, you will see looks like a small video tape -- to somehow help them in their quest. The video tape is thought to be the video that D.O. is filming with the camcorder in the middle of "Lotto." It's still unclear at this point how the girl fits in the storyline.
Some say the "girl" that EXO is always singing about and you sometimes see in their MVs is a manifestation of the heart of the Tree of Life and that is why the members are always rescuing or protecting the girl, etc. And why all their songs are about being in love with a girl or being controlled by the power of the girl, such as in "Overdose" for example.
As the English lines in "Monster" say ... They're "Creeping, Creeping Creeping .... Creeping in your heart babe" "You can call me Monster (because) I'm creeping in your heart babe." "She got me goin' crazy." The song's called "Monster," so the words are about acting like a monster: "Don't be afraid, love is the way ... i'm sorry, you make me sooo craaaazzzy, you know you dooooo."
However, the lyrics of the song really have very little to do with the story in the MV. If you want to know what the song is about, you should look up an English translation of the lyrics. In the song the members are talking about a girl and they are telling the girl that "You can call me Monster" because I know I am bad for you and I will ruin you. I know that when we are over that I will have destroyed everything that is good about you, but I don't care because I want you so much that it doesn't matter to me. So ... "Don't be afraid, love is the way ... you can call me Monster ... because I'm creeping in your heart babe." The song is about possessing a girl and using her up and throwing her away in the end, but the MV really is about EXO's origin story and about the fact that they are aliens from Planet Exo who have come to Earth on a mission.
Also, the majority of the choreography for "Monster" has to do with the members using their powers, so when/if you watch the dance practice and/or watch a live performance, if you know what you are looking for, you will see that each move is done for a very specific reason.
The X they make to represent EXO is only the beginning of the story in their choreography. Every move of the choreography has been designed to be an extension of their story and it uses elements of their dance to represent several of the members using their powers. For example, D.O. has the power of super strength, so during his part in the song and choreography you will see that he waves his hands and the other members are pushed away from him or pulled toward him. When you see Suho in the middle of the group and they have a hold of his arms, he rotates his body around like swirling water because Suho has the power to control water. Xiumin has the power to control snow/ice/frost, so during one part of the choreography you will see that each of the members pause as if frozen as he moves in front of them. Sehun has the power to control wind, so during his parts, you will see the other members shuffle around him as if they are creating a windstorm. And the part where they are sitting on the ground is supposed to represent a sundial -- EXO gets their power from the eclipse and their powers are affected by planetary and solar phenomenon, so the sundial is meant to represent the passing of time and their connection to the sun.

For dancing king it actually is Yu Jaeseok singing! He collared with exo for this song through a show called Infinite Challenge. He had to learn the dance and sing the song and he actually performed it live during their concert! He’s actually a decent singer, on the show infinite challenge they’ve often done music festivals and collages with other awesome artists. He is a successful solo artist as Yu Sanseul which was a project for a different show called How Do You Play. As Yu San Seul he released a Korean Trot (folk) album and swept the charts. Then on the same show he was part of a trio as Yuduragon with other members Lee Hyori (former member of 90’s girl group fin.k.l and solo artist) and Rain (solo artist) and again swept the charts. His singing isn’t extraordinary but it is actually pretty good and better than what most people would think. Many have also noted it’s improved after all of these shows and his collaborations.

EXO have so much influence on international pop culture that big western companies, such as Disney are coming to them and asking them to partner with them. "Lightsaber" was a collaboration between Disney, which owns the Star Wars franchise, and EXO as a way to help Disney promote the most recent release of their Star Wars movie "The Force Awakens".
Disney actually approached SM Entertainment and asked them if they would be willing to create a song and MV centered around the Star Wars theme as a way to promote the upcoming release of of the Star Wars movie across Asia. So SM came up with "Lightsaber" -- which is actually a sort of remix of a song that SM already had which is also called "Lightsaber." -- and the accompanying MV. (The original version of "Lightsaber" was used in one of Kai's pre-debut teaser videos) And because EXO is one of the biggest groups across Asia, with one of the largest fan bases, it's not surprising that "Lightsaber" as a song and MV got a lot of recognition around the world. And because of its popularity SM came up with an epic iconic concert stage for the song as well.
One of the reasons why SM agreed to partner with Disney on this project was because it fit so well with EXO's storyline and concept. As aliens from Planet Exo, it makes sense that EXO might be Jedis as well. :D
Although, as you heard, they have a Korean version, and, because it's EXO, they also have a Mandarin version of "Lightsaber," the song is actually one of EXO's Japanese songs. So, on top of it being a promotional video, because it was also released as a Japanese song, that is one reason why I think the MV is so short. Traditionally, most Japanese MVs use an abridged version of the song. I think It's part of Japan's marketing strategy to make you buy the song or album in order to hear the full song. So, most of the time, to hear the whole song you have to see it live in concert or listen to the studio version. I personally like the sound of the Japanese version the best. :D
Yes, all the members of EXO sing on this track, but in the MV you only see Baekhyun, Kai and Sehun. I'm not sure why SM chose to only include these members in the MV, but I am sure it probably has to do with EXO's storyline. As you may have noticed they seem to be on a mission. For example, Sehun in the hotel and he is in walking down the hall with all the doors on both sides of them. As part of EXO's storyline, it is thought hat EXO uses doors as portals to other dimensions or ways to travel throughout history. So theories speculate that one of the things the members are doing is searching for the right door that will allow them to escape or travel to each other, etc.
If you want to see an amazing performance and get a chance to hear the full song performed by the whole group with some great choreography and some Jedi moves, you have to check out the live concert performance of "Lightsaber" in Japan. That performance takes "Lightsaber" to a while other level. th-cam.com/video/LPvI2gR6sxM/w-d-xo.html
Rumor has it that an executive from Disney happened to catch EXO's performance of "El Dorado" at one of their concerts -- in which EXO also has choreography that uses lightsaber-like lightsticks -- and that's how they were inspired with the idea to ask EXO to collaborate with them on this Sar Wars project.
Also, as one of the big 3 entertainment companies in Korea and around the world, SM has had a relationship with Disney for a long time now. SM has partnered with Disney to produce programs for Disney Channel Korea in the past. Many of the members of NCT got their start pre-debut as members of Korea's Mickey Mouse Club and they starred on the well known variety show which aired on Disney Channel Korea.
The show was hosted by Leeteuk from Super Junior and the guests on the show each week were SM artists.
And NCT-127 also performed on Mckey's 100th birthday celebration TV special in the U.S. a few years ago, as well.

Exo mv are amazing, but them performing those songs live is even better. Their award show performances are outstanding always but nothing can ever and i really do mean EVER beat their own CONCERTS. This is why they still hold the number 1 spot for tickets sold-out for concerts around the world in 0.2 seconds.
Thank you Brandon and trust me, red velvet is Suho's favorite Girl group and he doesnt hide it. and you will be surprised to know that theres alot of connections between the 2 groups especially concept wise. and all sm artist have their own concept universe and at the same time it is all connected as Aespa is showcasing it this year with the sm universe videos.
Edit: The only tricky part with EXO's concept is that every mv they release, the Storyline within each mv isnt in order. The fans are the ones who break them down and put it all in order.

Disney actually approached SM to collaborate with Exo. They saw the concert performance of El Dorado and that live perf was really amazing plus the song itself is just beyond. That's why Disney wanted to collab with Exo and thankfully SM accepted it hence the birth of Lightsaber. And yes Exo performed Lightsaber at their concert.

Sing For You music video was partially inspired from a famous children literature; The Astronaut's Whale by Joey Barro.
It focused on the whale that left his family and the ocean with the help of his friend, an astronaut for the space. He felt like life in the ocean is not enough for him. But he then found out space is a lonely place, and he's better of with his precious ones in the ocean so they both went back home.
Basically it reflects on the sorrow that the song wanted to convey. Family, loved ones. They are your home. The members are each others' home.

A lot of people say the whale and the astronaut/ space concept didn't make sense in the Sing For You MV, but it actually has a lot of significance.
The whale concept was derived from the a whale called Alice a.k.a 'The Loneliest Whale in The World's, who is an undentified whale species, being the only whale emitting a call 52 hertz (like a lonely sad song).
The astronaut concept was derived from the story of the astronaut *Michael Collins who spent 48 minutes in his spaceship and coming back saying that those 48 minutes were the longest and most loneliest of mankind.
The combination of these two concepts placed within the MV discusses being away from home, being somewhere unfamiliar (since the whale and astronaut is in space) and being isolated. Isolation was one of the themes in the MV (when Kai was seen being alone when the other members were playing/ when Chanyeol and Suho were fighting).
The song and the MV seems to talk about how everyone, in their lifetime, would meet a low point where they feel most isolated and most out of their place, but that this song (and EXO) will be there to warm their hearts.
In a way, this song could also be indirectly dedicated to the members who have left considering the lyrics of the song.
KAI is supposed to representing EXO (which through out video that they do it affects Kai, which mean all EXO members get affected by what one of them do) while SEHUN represent the members that leave (alone in space).
There is always one left alone in each part of the video eg XIUMIN in the basket ball court or DO in the car while the others leave representing the fact that 3 members left, they started feeling lonely and had a fear that everyone will leave.
Suho and Chanyeol fight is about Suho feeling incompetent as a leader.
In the end Kai meets the other members in the car after they realize they need each other and have to be there for each other.

If you want to react to EXO's live concert performance, best to use the ones in Seoul as Japan ones usually get blocked. You can try though. The difference between the Japan and Seoul performances is that there is less production in the Seoul ones so you are able to hear the live vocals very clearly. But the Japan ones has great camera works. Also some performances in Seoul you may not see Kai as he was injured for a certain period.

If you are trying to understand what is happening in "Lucky One," you have to remember the fact that everything EXO does is connected. So, in order to piece their storyline together, you have to remember what was happening in some of the other MVs that you watched. I think "Lucky One" takes place right after "Overdose." (Not necessarily in chronological order of when the songs were released, but it order of their storyline.) In "Overdose" they were trapped in the maze by the Red Forces and the maze caused them to be disoriented and prevented them from using their powers at full strength. Somehow the maze lowered their defenses which allowed the Red Forces to capture them and take them to the lab where we see them in "Lucky One."
I think sometime between when the "Overdose" MV ends and "Lucky One" begins, the Red Force transferred EXO from the maze to the room that is the government facility. So the story in the "Lucky One" MV has to do with the fact that they have been captured by the government or the Red Forces or someone and are being held against their will in a lab where the Red Forces are trying to do experiments on them to figure out what makes them different or to figure out how to control them or to figure out how to prevent them from having their connection to the Tree of Life, or maybe even figure out how to clone them like we see has happened in "Obsession," etc. They are each using their powers, such as Chanyeol using his power of fire, D.O. makes the windows break with his power of force, Chen zaps the women with his power of electricity, Kai teleports from room to room and Suho uses his power of controlling water to try and reverse the chemicals from entering his body from the IV bag, etc.
In the Korean version you see Suho trapped in that room that looks like it is filled with smoke, but because Suho has the power to control water, I think the room is really filled with steam or fog and the Red Force is experimenting with ways to get rid of his powers, etc. And, if you watch the Mandarin version, you will see Xiumin trapped in that room. Xiumin is a member of EXO-M and he has the power to control snow/ice/frost, which makes him Suho's power counterpart and gives him some of the same natural elements when it comes to their powers.
Fun fact: Xiumin creates a drinking glass made out of ice that Suho fills with water for them to drink from as they try to escape.
As the members are working to escape, you see Baekhyun struggles to summon his power -- which is the ability to control light -- because he was given a darkness poison that is affecting his light, etc.The black liquid you see the nurse lady inject into the IV was attached to Baekhyun and it is thought they were injecting him with darkness to stop his ability to control light, which causes him to quickly sit up in bed as he is awakened from his drugged sleep state, as they try to alter his power. If you notice, when Baekhyun is trying to break out and he is standing in that dark room with Chanyeol, Chanyeol has to use his power of fire to light the way, because the theory is that Baekhyun is unable to access his power or light because of the drugs that are currently in his system.
You see them all using their powers to fight back and try to escape from the facility.
The women are robots and they are part of the Red Forces' arsenal -- that is why you see them wearing those red visors. (Any time you see red in an EXO video that usually has something to do with the Red Force.) That is why Chen is able to electrocute them and they just fall down and stop working and why they are able to explode their heads in a puff of smoke, etc. Sehun controls wind so he was able to use wind to push the robots over and deactivate them, etc. Because they are using their powers, they don't have to touch them to defeat them.
Lay was able to use his power of healing to deactivate the robot woman because he tricks her into short circuiting by getting her to focus on the beauty of the flower. Lay has the ability to heal anything that is living -- including flowers. :D
You see Chen's image being projected on the movie screen behind him because some theories think that this connects to EXO's "Love Shot" MV, as well as their "For Life" MV. In "Love Shot" we see the members in a movie theater and they are in a trance staring at the movie screen. We think whatever is being played on the screen is connected to the Red Force and the Red Force is using it to keep the members brainwashed and incapacitated, so they don't try to fight back and escape from the maze that the Red Force has them trapped in. And you see Suho being controlled by the images on the movie screen in their "For Life" MV, etc.
You see Kai with those dance breaks because, one of the theories is, it's his job to distract the robots so the other members have a chance to use their powers and it gives them time to figure out how to escape. If you pay attention to Kai's dance, you might notice that the dance Kai was doing in "Lucky One" was the choreography to "Monster." As you can see, this was a little Easter egg that SM used to give us secret clues that make connections between the two MVs. "Lucky One" and "Monster" are from the same album and both MVs were released back to back. However, there are subtle things in all of EXOs MVs that, if you are paying close attention, you will see things that are hidden messages and clues that give nods to other moments in other MVs.
"Lucky One" and "Monster" are from EXO's Ex'Act album and the MVs were actually both released on the same day, June 9, 2016. So they were the two songs that were promoted together from the album as part of EXO's comeback promotions at the time. "Lucky One" was kind of a B-side track to "Monster" but was promoted like a lead track, with an MV and storyline. As you probably know, most of the time B-side tracks don't have an MV. However, SM used "Lucky One" to help tell an important part of EXO's story, so they created an MV for the song.
So one storyline theory goes: The members were trapped in the maze by the Red Force in "Overdose" and while they were trapped they were captured and moved to the government facility in "Lucky One" and after escaping in "Lucky One" we see them detoxing in "Ko Ko Bop."
As you are starting to realize, everything EXO does has something to do with their storyline and their origin story, including every single one of their MVs, most of their Sub-unit MVs, Solo MVs, live performances and choreography, as well as teaser videos and concert VCRs. Nothing is random or done without a specific purpose and meaning and it's our job as fans to piece it all together. So "Lucky One" is only a small part of EXO's story.
However, most of the time the story in the lyrics of the song is separate from the story in the MV. Most of the time EXO's songs are about being in love with a girl or wanting to be with a girl, but their MVs are about them battling the Red Force and about telling the next piece of their storyline. What makes EXO even that much more complicated, is you have to view their MV as loosely based around their song lyrics, but also separate. Just as their storyline is thought to be based on the fact that each comeback may be a different dimension or era of EXO's story, you also have to analyse their story in the lyrics of their songs separate from the story in the MV, but be prepared to make connections between the two as well.

One theory is that "Love Me Right" is showing the members in all different dimensions or time periods throughout history. As aliens from Planet EXO, it is thought that the members of EXO are able to travel throughout history and time and space in their quest to reunite as a group and to find the Tree of Life. So, each scene you see is thought to be in a different location or time period -- or possibly, part of a dream-like existence, created by the Red Force to trap the members within the maze, like we see in their "Overdose" MV. (So if EXO are still trapped in the maze, some of the scenes are also thought to be them fighting to break free from the fog that the Red Force has them in and escape, etc.) Some say "Love Me Right" establishes how EXO are traveling through history looking for the Red Force and trying to fix all the problems that the Red Force has caused, while they search for the Tree of Life. That is why we see them in so many different scenes in the MV and why each scene looks like it is from a different time period.
As you know, everything EXO does is connected to their concept and storyline and it's all about the fact that they are fighting the Red Force and searching for the Tree of Life. And because EXO are trying to undo everything and stop the Red Force from corrupting humanity, the Red Force is always standing in EXO's way, trying to stop them from accomplishing their tasks and prevent them from reuniting the two halves of the Tree of LIfe in order to prevent peace from being restored in the world.
You see the red light because, as with everything EXO does, red represents the Red Force. So some theories are that the scenes with the red light are scenes where the Red Force has control, and the scenes where you see the blue light are when EXO has the upperhand. And the scenes where you see the purple colors are times when the line is blurred and EXO and the Red Force are crossing paths -- red and blue make purple.
Also since we now have more information about X-EXO, which are EXO's alter ego clones, who we were introduced to in EXO's MV, "Obsession," some new theories are starting to suggest that maybe the red scenes are actually the X-EXO clones and the blue scenes are the EXO members.
And, although the smoke looks pink, I think we are supposed to recognize it as red smoke, which is another indication that whatever is causing the smoke has something to do with the Red Force. Some theories even think that scene might be connected to EXO's "Lucky One" MV storyline. In "Lucky One" we see the Red Force experimenting on EXO and, in the EXO-M version, Xiumin is trapped in a box filled with smoke or fog and in "Love Me Right" we see Xiumin doing some sort of experiment in the room with the red smoke.
At one point you see Xiumin mixing some sort of purple liquid and, although I am not sure what he is making or why, some theories speculate that that potion is created from flowers. And flowers are a central theme in almost all of EXO's MVs. You see Xiumin mixing a similar liquid with flowers in EXO-CBX's "Blooming Day." MV. And because this liquid is purple, I think it could potentially be some sort of potion that will help the EXO members break the spell the Red Force has over them or it will help to identify who are the real EXO members and who are the evil X-EXO alter ego clones in disguise, etc.
The smashed TV is also thought to be connected to EXO's "Coming Over" MV storyline. In "Coming Over" you see EXO smashing TVs, mirrors, and surveillance cameras, in what is thought to be an attempt at stopping and preventing the Red Force from controlling humanity. And in EXO-CBX's MV for "Hey Mama" you will see that the CBX members have now infiltrated a TV news studio and they are working to stop the Red Force from controlling the news anchors and corrupting society by controlling the flow of news, etc.
Some have pointed out that the smashed TVs kind of look like running water. Water is Suho's superpower and fire is Chanyeol's power. And you see Suho and Chanyeol in that scene. So, Suho and Chanyeol are most likely involved with whatever is happening in this scene.
The scene where you see Baekhyun laying on the train tracks could possibly be connected to the storyline in EXO-CBX's "Horololo" MV where we see Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin searching the train tracks for clues. And the scene where you see Xiumin laying on the ground, almost as if he is passed out, in the middle of the forest looks as though it is connected to Suho's "Call Me Baby" pathcode teaser video storyline, as well as the scenes with Suho in the forest in EXO's "For Life" MV.
To really understand what might be going on in this MV you pretty much have to pause the MV at every scene and really analyze what is happening in each frame. And, although I have watched this MV numerous times, because it is so complex, I still have no idea what most of the MV is trying to tell us.
But as you can see, everything that EXO does is connected. And the story continues in every MV. But what makes their storyline even more complicated is that nothing is in chronological order, so you really have to pay attention to even the most minute details to figure out where each MV or each scene within an MV might fit within EXO's larger storyline.

And the storyline even continues with the choreography. If you watch their dance practice video or a live performance, you might notice that there are several dance moves where it could be interpreted as some of the members using their powers. For example, D.O. waves his arms and the rest of the membres are pulled toward him or pushes away from him. D.O. has the power of earth/force which gives him strength. I also see the gliding movements to represent how the members are traveling across time and place as they fight to regain control from the Red Force, etc.
"Love Me Right" was released in June 2015 -- Kris and Luhan left the group in 2014 and Tao left around April 2015 -- so this was the first MV where there are 9 members. From now on, if you are going in order of release date, you will see 9, 8 or 6 members depending on how recent the MV is.
You should also see "Love Me Right" live to really appreciate the choreography. Check out a comeback stage or one of their live concert videos, even if it's just on your own time. :D

Fun fact: they are actually captured in "Lucky One" by Red Force to suck away their power and being experimented...and there you are smiling and laughing.. 😅😅that's us before understanding the theories behind EXO songs.
