    from wikipedia:
    Brand was eventually ejected from the event after GQ editor Dylan Jones confronted Brand with his view that the speech was "very offensive"-Brand replied by saying that the Nazis' treatment of the Jewish people was "very offensive".

      Why, Julien, I suppose we *should* take your advice, considering your magnificent amount of experience with hollow pursuits of superficial, transient thrills in the desperate yet misguided hope that they'll fulfill you on a deeper level.
      I still contest that the platform is a rather useful tool in and of itself though.

      He's on the right track but he doesn't really care about political injustice, I think he just uses it as part of his act, because he knows it resonates with people. Russell brand sometimes tries so hard to sound smart and use big words that he ends up saying virtually nothing. It's cringe worthy at times. The dick head.

    • @EraChanZ
      @EraChanZ 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      People need to appreciate that despite all the things he says about capitalism and events like this; he himself lives of the exact same corporate structure. He is wiping his arse with 100$ bills, literaly... The amount of money he has is sickening; and sure, he does 'some good' with it too, but 'put his life and financnes on the line', give me a break...

    • @lilyophelia1928
      @lilyophelia1928 10 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      EraChanZ Be careful how you use the word "literally" lol
      And yes, he does have money, but that doesn't mean he can't bring some truth to light. He is brutally honest about his own past, which is more than I can say for any of the people/companies he mentioned here.

    • @amirruze9559
      @amirruze9559 10 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      EraChanZ lol do you know him do you? How much money does he have exactly??? And YES he is LITERALLY risking his life to educate the world. Putting his fancy lifestyle at risk and i very highly doubt he cares. He is using his money for good purposes. If you can't discuss the positive things he is doing why even talk at all.
      Stella Rothe is this guy for real? Too much fox news maybe? Maybe he drinks straight fluoride and has a completely numb brain lol

    • @lilyophelia1928

      And let's not forget what a mess he made of his earlier days - drugs, sex addiction, booze. He's cleaned all that up (which isn't easy!) to spread light and awareness, and I applaud him so very, very much.

    • @aceofclubskid
      @aceofclubskid 10 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      EraChanZ You can't hate someone for being succesful and having money WE give them, that goes for all people. Russell is incredibly open about being as real as possible( even after his divorce with katy and not talking shit) as well as sef depricating and waking people up in some way or another. He is a recovering drug addict and has such put time into helping those still struggling and made doccumentaries about helping them in the best ways he believes. Sounds fairly solid to me. I guess its a lose-lose though because otherwise he'd be a "sellout" for not speaking up.

    This is the bravest, most honest, highest integrity individual I have ever met, heard, or seen. If everyone had this kind of integrity, 99% of the problems humanity faces would be solved overnight, everyone's lives would be unimaginably better, even those of the super rich. When I first heard of, and saw an image of this guy, I thought, 'God, what silly gimmick personality will they throw at us next? because, frankly, I'm not keen on the whole metrosexual vibe or what I took to be Kardashianeque celebrity for celebrity's sake. But immediately upon first hearing him speak, and ever more so after every subsequent instance, I have been increasingly impressed.

  • @rachelysew
    @rachelysew 8 ปีที่แล้ว +138

    I fucking love Russell Brand. He always has such powerful truths to speak, and he uses his comedic talents expertly to release the tension, allowing what he says to be more easily accepted, which demonstrates a pretty good understanding of human psychology. I especially love how the way he acts seems the be a commentary calling to rebel against the stupid, superficial things we choose to worry about as a society while ignoring the real issues. I've been watching him for a while, and I'm excited to see what he does next.

      Because the people who worked in the company now, aren't the same people who worked in the company then.
      It's analogous to getting national recognition in Germany and then going off about how they're nazi's. Or getting an award in Japan, and going off about imperial war crimes. Or anyone in the soviet bloc.
      I wouldn't get an award from BMW only to go off the german company being part of nazi germany..

    Say what you will about Hugo Boss, but nobody's giving up on them simply because they had a shady past with the Nazis, just like nobody is giving up on the benefits of rocket technology and jet aircraft or companies like Mercedes-Benz, Maybach and Volkswagen because of their associations with the Nazis. And heck, we're certainly not going to be stupid and destroy the Autobahn highway, which was built by the Nazis. Sure, the Nazis committed some terrible atrocities, but it doesn't mean we can't take the stuff they pioneered, turn it around and use it for good instead of evil.

      "To make the whole group guilty for what maybe even one or two have done. Whats the difference between that rationalization and racism?" What group? The human race, the Germans or maybe just the corporations I was speaking of. I don't think I was blaming the entire group whatever group you think that is.
      "You would have made a perfect Nazi Jack Thompson." What???? Are you completely out of your mind. Someone disagrees with you and all of a sudden you not only throw out the race card but now I would have been a perfect Nazi??? Jack Thompson In no way was Aspirin developed as late as 1939. It was being sold around the world in 1899 and Bayer's patent expired on Aspirin in 1917. The nazis may have tortured people and called it scientific experimentation, but that doesn't mean the scientific community gained anything from it.

    • @flateric8662
      @flateric8662 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      pablo sublime Nope. The brand name Aspirin didn't exist before the late 1890s. Salicylate drugs are ancient and come from willow tree bark. More than a thousand years ago.

    • @flateric8662
      @flateric8662 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      pablo sublime Jack Thompson said Aspirin was developed using concentration camp prisoners. It wasn't, I told him so. Then you tried to tell me that 'aspirin' has existed for a thousand years, for no apparent reason. You were wrong and I told you so (And even if you're right about the bark, your comment added nothing to the conversation). Now you're implying that I should not point out when people are talking out of their asses? And that I shouldn't make sure I'm not talking out of my ass when doing so? ...No? I'm not going to be a moron?

    • @flateric8662
      @flateric8662 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      pablo sublime I'll let it go out of laziness. You seem to only read about 20% of the words that comprise the sentences you read, so I'd have to go back and explain what I actually wrote in each instance, and then why what you said in response to those sentences was irrelevant or wrong in each case, which would be tiring.
