Q: Why is it called a Full Clear when you left a [Creep Tumor, Overseer, Overlord, Observer, Stasis Ward, etc] alive?
A: The community rules for a Full Clear say that all pre-placed units and structures and whatever they create from said pre-placed units or structures are destroyed and wiped out. This does not include units spawned from scripted attack waves, map events such as the infested on Dead of Night, indestructible structures like the conduits on Void Launch, or special units or structures generated by mutators such as Purifier Beam or Laser Drill. Creep Tumors, Overseers, Overlords, Observers, and Stasis Wards are exempt.
In addition, all main objectives and bonus objectives must be completed with no misses to the main objectives are permitted such as no shuttles missed on Void Launch, no bots destroyed on Mist Opportunities, or no damage the Temple on Temple of the Past.
Kimmo's Notes: This is a run I'm particularly proud of doing. Especially when it comes to demonstrating the power that Devouring One possesses to create immensely powerful armies with all the buffs. Terran was chosen because of its balanced unit type selection for Dehaka to devour armies to give buffs to his own. The map also offers massive plenty of massive units that Dehaka can devour to give armor and damage reflect which can also in turn, let them kill themselves on Dehaka's army very quickly. Examples of this are Thors and Battlecruisers.
Impalers and Wurms are made to hold the front doors to both main base and expansion. That's made first. Then, unit production rotates to Mutalisks for the main attacking force and then a handful of Creeper Hosts for insurance.
Devouring mechanical and armored units or a unit with both properties is very helpful for the Mutalisks to suddenly have high structure damage. Especially since there's many units that are both armored and mechanical in the Terran arsenal. There's also a nice amount of biological units for Dehaka to maintain the army's overall health, too. Psionic buffs also reduces the cooldown on the Mutalisk's ability to regenerate themselves. And an air unit also increases their attack range by 2. In other words, Mutalisks become just flat out ridiculously powerful with all of those buffs stacked together. And what you end up getting is a devastating storm that can't be stopped. And you also get the other Pack Leaders who can benefit from the buffs as well.
Impalers and Wurms defend against the infested that harass your base. Mutalisks are very mobile to avoid the Orbital Strikes. And Dehaka can devour massive units to give damage reflect to himself and his units to make the Laser Drill kill itself on them. But later on, in the 20 minute mark, Dehaka can devour Abberations to give armored bonus damage, armor and damage reflect, and healing to his army every minute, even as everything else is cleared out.
Devouring One is ludicrous. But it's a whole lot of fun.
