I plan to buy a Hayabusa in a few years. Honestly these podcasts seem like they are geared to get me trained towards getting it properly. Everything from the planning, delivery and post delivery is covered. Simply wonderful. PS: My 2013 Polo has the stock music system. And while I'm a music lover, I'm no connoisseur of music systems. Its honestly more than good enough for me.
This channel is one of the very few in the youtube crowd which will make sure I stick my eyes and ears for those 45mins in each video. Sensible and unique way of representing things...
Just to add somethings about automotive paints, as I have extensively worked in that area : 1) Smaller cars aren't rushed through the process, because if the paint remains same across models curing time remains same. 2) Usually the smaller budget cars have less coverage of paint, as in they skip painting all coats in interior areas like engine room, under the bonet etc that's how cost is balanced 3) In rare case the paint will be different across models because keeping separate paint would increase operation cost 4) And as you have inferred OEM's spend lot of thought process on coating design, whatever we get should be easily durable for a long period
so riddle me this why does my brand new xl6 have round scratches from washing even though I wash it on my own and regularly change the expensive micro fibre cloth?
Dashcams are needed nowadays as an important accessories. Also I would suggest getting treel Branded TPMS From the nearest JK Tyres truck outlet. They do come with warranty and costs around 500 bucks per tyre 😊, Amazing working for My Taigun GT+
Having listened to the Pipes on bikes joke a lot, my brother recently sent me multiple clips of how much small Advs like Adv 250, 390, Dominar adventure/ touring variant have picked up, some even have the Burgman and Ntorq too with the insane pipe protection. The only thing missing on all these motorcycles is the rider wearing a helmet. The rider decided to solely let the bike be protected while he himself was riding it aggressively without a lid on. Strange priorities?
No loud music, no nonsense talks, No graphics, no begging to like and to subscribe.. Just pure source of knowledge. There are 2 reasons people love such shows 1. To learn something new 2. To validate your own opinion. It happens when your thought is aligned with the expert's thought and you get that feeling of ''Thats exactly what I felt. So Yes, I was correct.".
Never thought I'd sit for so long and listen to podcasts being an Auto Journalist myself. Yet i learn new things from this channel. Everytime i see the videos here it humbles me about my knowledge of automobiles. And these 2 have always been the people i looked upto when i was a small child dreaming to be one.
I mean I just love Shumi since Powerdrift days. But these two just melt my heart. So soothing to hear their views and get some knowledge. Keep growing guys.
Really insightful discussion and makes one really mindful when choosing accessories. One thing about Crash guards though, as a novice biker I bought a RE Meteor and was scared the size of it would crush my leg if it falls while I'm on it, and the bike fell twice in the 2 years I've had it, the engine guard touches the ground first saving the leg and also aides picking it back up.
Necessary mods once you get a bike 1.Tank pads and knee pads 2.Sliders 3.Adjustable brake and clutch levers if the stock ones aren’t right for you 4.Better visibility mirrors if the stock ones are crap
I like the motorbike and car models kept on the table 😄 One thing, I guess floor mats on driver's side nowadays get a fixing points so that they don't roll another, I have been saved from a major damage to my radiator on Dominar due to small leg guard, and I think it's a worth investment, as long as it does not extend to the whole bike😁
1.Wowh!! Shumi's thoughts on FRAME SLIDERS and Crash guard is an eye opening. I was like that's weird thing to say but as he explained.. I was speechless 🤯 I'm planning a RR310 (apache is my dream since it's first version) but I'm sure this frame slider/crash guard point from Shumi will be in my mind. 2. Regarding car floor mats. My Celerio has rubber/silicon mix mats which really is annoying coz they get rolled under cold temp and it gets rolled under accelerator pedal. Prevent from tapping it after 50% 😂. My Seltos has 7D Mats which really keep the dirt at fixed place and is easier to clean. So that's really nice Kartikeya held back his feelings a lot for USELESS accessories 🤣 And those rubber/RUST COATING thing is pushed to customer in every service visit too. 3. I want to know if DASHCAMs by OEM should be a must accessory that should be provided? I have a pair of dashcams in 2 cars and it really have saved me a couple of times. But i do wish they were like integrated with the system rather than hanging.
1. 🤜🏽🤛🏽 2. 💯 3. No. Not essential or a must have. It feeds on your need to worry about crashes... which don't happen that often (and if they do... you need to fix your driving, not a camera).
@@motorincI'm sorry but having a dashcam have been useful a lot. Was saved by traffic police when they were wrongfully pushing me a challan for crossing lights when i clearly had a GREEN and my dashcam showed they had faulty traffic lights which switched from 25 SECOND to 0 in just few second. In my recent experiences people who actually follow RULES are ending up paying wrongful challan or getting HIT by rash driving
That's wonderful insight about crash guards, I have never seen any one saying this before because the opinion always goes like"buy a bigger and better crash guard, spend a lot of money so you don't have to spend later."" Also please make an episode each on break in period and more on accessories.
Would love to see shumi and karthikeya talk about restorations and mods. Maybe even a guest on the podcast who does this? I am planning to restore a 2012 Karizma ZMR. I would love it more to mod it into a wall-e inspired neo cafe racer but the legality of restoring vs modding seems to be a very confused topic with bodyshops and garages alike.
Two genuine guys auto enthus - nice to see them discuss on one fond space. Few items that you guys discussed - I can relate to that. Thanks to my service guys as they explained the cost of parts and helped me see that no much difference - exactly what you explained.
This conversation is dammm good for new growing bike enthusiasts, special for those who don't have any father figure on automobile. Loved the whole conversation!
"Overloading" and motorcycle trips/adventures are all the rage these days. Would love your insight on that. Another area of conversation for "This Connect" is on Indian made motorcycle gears (the whole gamut - protective gears, luggage, intercom...). The conversation is always on point. Worth the time. Cheers!
Thanks for getting to this topic! Loved it. Would definitely want a continuation that involved more long-term accessories including some things alluded to in this video for "buy them later" like luggage and lights. A couple of things I would like to add to the discussion about protection and injury. Almost all protective equipment is designed to transfer impact forces above their absorption capability to other areas of the body. Knee braces, for example, transfer them to bones and muscles instead of ligaments. The idea behind it simply being that some parts of the body can take more impact and heal easier than others (Ligaments, for example, are very easy to damage and extremely hard to heal completely). Ankle Torsion/flexion/extension protection in boots does a very similar thing. Just putting this out there, in case it helps people, or someone finds this interesting P.S. - My personal take on the paint protection thing is that I like the stuff that I own to have marks that tell the story of what its been through, instead of looking like its been lovingly adored from afar in pristine condition. So, I personally agree with Kartikeya in that I will take care of stuff but "Naaah" on too much. 😋
@@motorinc Absolutely! I just wanted to put this here in case it helps someone, because I've seen people feel that wearing protectors makes them invincible, where it can cause other situations, like Shumi mentioned in the video with the neck whiplash Knee braces, to take my example, can cause bone damage in the legs, because they were trying to protect your ligaments. The medical opinion being that bone is easier to heal completely than ligaments Love the example with car crash structures too!
Great podcast guys as usual. Please talk about auxiliary lights. The motorcycles I own come with very mediocre headlights as standard. Auxiliary lamps for motorcycles can be reasonably priced or even hellishly expensive. How do you decide which ones to buy? How does one choose between a more powerful bulb, LED light and an auxiliary light setup? Thanks
@@motorinc i don't think using auxiliary lights are legal as far as i can remember, had to remove when was checked by R.T.O. to avoid this multiple unnecessary cop stops have upgraded the headlights which does the job ...
I really enjoyed this video. It was superb. I really liked the section where you talked about the paint quality and anti rust dealer treatment. The consumers really need to be educated that none of the vehicles need any paint treatment. From the OEM perspective everything, generaly that a car needs is there in that variant. We should never drill holes and add after market products even if bought from the dealerships.
You two have such a beautiful energy. Unparalleled enthusiasm. The knowledge, insights and wisdom you both bring to table is phenomenal. I love You Both So Much. Love all the way from Shimla.
Before watching I video I thought it's 46mins long. When it ended I thought it was only 46mins, short. Love this podcast! Hope there are more plans other than podcast😃 Like cross country road trips Track day - for cars, nah! super cars Off road / on road / no road Short flims. Love this channel!
"There's a sucker born every minute" is probably the line you were looking for 😂😂😂 And yes, that rubber thing coating is still pretty much available in certain places.
I enjoy watching you guys talking irrespective of the topic that you are discussing, its so delightful to listen to your way of putting the right words to use
Thank You i follow you videos and i understand how much thought process it takes. Gr8 to listen to you guys so much composed and focused with fun filled, in the era where people expect magi to be cooked in 30 sec.
I don't own any fancy motorcycle and don't know when will buy any. I often tune to this channel to get away from busy hustles of the day. The way these folks talk the pitch they have, it just helps me to get good sleep. humble request ,please increase your podcast duration to couple of hours. Congrats for this new chapter and wishing you folks all the best. Thanks in advance for not playing any lame ear piercing background music. Cya folks.
The window visors/vances(?) are very helpful while driving through rains. They help prevent the fogging up of the vehicle without letting the rain in, which is very helpful when the weather is on the colder side. Also, blindspot mirrors are a great addition as well. They help while navigating tight spaces or parking too. Neck support cushions are a great addition for long drives too, since not every car seat is ergonomical enough..
But then a leg guard protects the leg by not having the whole weight of the bike on your leg and crushing it incase of a simple slip and fall which happens a lot in slow speed with the bad / slippery roads we have right?
21:15 : Glad that before watching this itself I had thrown the leg guards :) Trust me it becomes more nimble in Traffic as well as looks good in aesthetics too!
The large rear view mirrors mentioned at 31:06 are helpful for a larger view of the car. You can even see out of rear passangers window from them. For SUVs, I think they improve the car's rear vision. For sedans or low slung hatchbacks, they are a pain because they block your sight of view.
You guys are purely honest about everything you discuss..love it... Just want to add on if it makes sense... People with bikes more 650cc in India are well within lakhs but there are people who hover around below 650 cc and do unnecessary accessory add on for which there has to be a separate podcast from thier POV as to whether it's necessary or just a show off accessory.. just an input.... Hope it reaches to the ears... Make a great day ahead..
Next podcast has to be about how shumi lost weight and how Kartikeya is doing so now. Both look sharp, particularly shumi. Great podcast, please do cover the riding gear, one by one, like helmet jacket etc, what has to be seen to be bought for any noob who buys a motorcycle.
One accessory if I may call it that I added in my car is a dashboard camera… And it has helped me in two aspects 1) When I got into an incident where another car tried to overtake through left and tried to go on to the right side eventually ending up scratching my front bumper and ripping his rear bumper, before he could start a fight about whose fault and all that, I just old him that I have it all on video and the argument ended there…. Where he was ok to pay for the processing fee of my insurance to get it all sorted. 2) it kinda reminds you that in case of an incident the footage can act against you if you are at fault….so better mannered self behind wheels on road 🙂
You know Kiran, the more we see of this dash cam logic the more we think there's just too much fear and worry in the world. You could be a better driver without needing a device, for example
Thanks to work, I am 2 days late and watching this on the weekend. As far as accessories go, the TPMS system from Triumph works wonders on my Triple. Apart from that just the basic front and back fork protector along with rear bobbins and I am flying. And a radiator guard.. ofcourse. On my Altroz, I still have the stock floor mats which have come over the clutch pedal so many times that I can't even remember. Have to push it back with my brake feet every time I feel it obstructing the clutch. Have got the replacement ready. Just need to fix it. Apart from that, the infamous under belly rust protection which I thought would protect the underbody from debris damage. Following the K.I.S.S principle. Keep It Simple Silly!! Next podcast suggestion. What does the rule book says about parts swapping, especially engines and transmission. We see a lot of vehicles, both cars and bikes being restored to much better specs and running on the roads abroad. How much degree of freedom do we have it here in India if, let's say, I want to swap my Altroz's engine and transmission with that of a Nexon's or my Street Triple R to that of the Speed Triple?? #WithACupOfTea
Just a fabulous news for Hyundai fans. Not only the safety, Verna has the best tech included in its infotainment system. The power is beyond comparable with German engines. At least now people will realise who is dominant in Indian sedan market.
This was fantastic, was hoping to hear more on the cars though as you did indepth with the bikes. But I could just keep listening to you both endlessly. This is great
Two of my favourite moto-journalists in the same video is a delight to watch. The editing, the ambiance and the sound is great. I just have a small suggestion, please try to include some images as well for the reference whenever you guys are mentioning so parts or the accessories. Some of us are noobs here who certainly have less experience and knowledge than you guys. Great content overall.
Thanks Bilal! TBH there's no plan to add images to the podcast. We would rather than you googled whatever piques your interest... pausing the 'cast if needed. We believe you will learn and discover more this way
Dude crash bar comes in handy with heavy bikes more then 5 year old, day in and day out, they tend to fall while removing from stands on wet monsoon days usually and a crash bar would save you huge expenses of repairing the damaged fairing and scratches.
I lost Shumi when he said leg guards are worthless. It has saved my legs on my little commuter bike, from minor crasher with autos, cars, poles and what not, that really feels like a must with every bike, at least at city speeds.
I did get the ‘machined’ engine oil cap and brake-fluid lid from RE coz they were pretty inexpensive and looked cool 😄 On the topic of crash/leg guards - I think they are good to have coz 1) They help deflect smaller vehicles on impact - I had a enthusiastic aunty on a scooty T-bone me but the massive ‘Avon’ leg guards on my father’s 1st gen Thunderbird deflected her to the side. Was funny coz there was an uncle who was instructing her as pillion and they crashed into a cow 😅 (all parties were unharmed) 2) They help the bike stay slightly propped up when it goes down so it’s easier to lift - maybe more relevant for off-roaders Great content, as always. Enjoyed it thoroughly :)
Now u both got a new haircut.....and thanks for this chanel...love u both...specially shumi..he acts just like some cool teacher....in my college...and katikeya is kind of a calm senior👍👍
We badly needed this discussion that too in English catering to entire India in the mindsets of Indian riders and geographic condition of Indian roads.
I love this podcasts. Can you please talk about touring on bike. Like what need to care, how much you give rest to your bike as per engine capacity & cooling system. Also how to plan.
Can do! But you don't need to give the bike any rest at all. You will need the rest, almost any modern bike can run all day and all night without issues
I can totally relate to Karthikeyan’s take on vaccum cleaner… My 3 yr old son is big bhujia fan and I have to clean his baby seat n rear seat repeatedly to keep it bhujia free 😂😂
Tyre polish on motorcycles.....I bought a demo Triumph Street Twin in 2017. Five minutes out from the showroom, on a sharp turn, at about 10 kmph, the front slid out! My first ever fall (I'm 60+ years old) and I was absolutely confounded! Ended up with a bent rear brake pedal. I figured out that the showroom had applied tyre polish liberally and had I taken a turn another couple of kms later, things might have been different. The Triumph dealer agreed with my observation and since then, stopped using tyre polish.......
When it comes to accessories, please highlight on luggage part too. Like fitting a top case on street naked bike vs a proper adv vs a cruiser. How the handling would get affected, if at all.
Can do! Thanks! Short answer: Top cases are fine at lower speeds and in traffic. Personally, Shumi hates them. At higher speeds they interfere with stability and make the handling noticeably worse
Could you suggest some tyre pressure devices to use at home as I'm tired of going to the tyre shop to check it... Better to check them at home when my tyres are cold... Great podcast guys... Really useful! People need to realise that as they drive, they'll know what accessory they need....
19:00 When I bought my interceptor I fitted the smallest engine guard and a sump guard that RE offered, because big ones look ugly and leg guards don't really work. Interceptor was my first real bike (can't really count Navi as one) and I have dropped it quite a lot of times mostly at very low speeds, and while offroading (the road to my house is a mud road with deep tyre tracks). The small crash guard that hugs the engine has held up really well and so has the sump guard. The sump guard is made of Aluminium so it dents easily but I have a hammer with plastic ends and those dents are really easy to fix. After a lof of drops, my engine and clutch covers are still shiny, I also polish them with Brasso when they start to look dull. And at speeds higher than 40, I don't think any plumbing will save my legs or the bike because it's so heavy.
Thanks for sharing this! You should know that your legs are more or less as safe with or without the crash guards (technically engine/radiator guards). Trapping a leg under a bike is not easy to do.
@@motorinc never trapped my leg under the bike but once I managed to get it stuck between the front tyre and the exhaust pipe. I fell down on the right side, in almost a 2 foot deep muddy ditch but it was my left leg that got stuck between the exhaust pipe and the front tyre. The pipe burned straight through my jeans and caused 2nd degree burns on my left calf all in just a few seconds. That happened last year, still got the mark. I wonder if a leg guard could have prevented that or would have made it worse. Dunno! But I'm a better rider now and now I know that it's better to let the bike fall and then lift it instead of trying to hold on to the bike in order to save it from falling. It's easier to spend some cash in bike repairs than spending weeks in pain in addition to hospital and med. bills.
Yes Yes Yes ! Cant agree more ! There are so many brilliant designers who work for months and years and come up with designs that are beautiful and functional. And then there are people who put a leg guard thats almost half the size of the engine, heavy and rusty and more intimidating than a butcher knife and make the machine look its absolute worst. I know a guy who puts a everything the aftermarket has to offer on his vehicles. Once he showed me one of his creations😂 I literally asked him which car is this ? He was surprised and told me that how in a conversation i used to praise this car and i dont recognise it now. I told him, the car i was a fan of, was designed by vw in germany, the one you have is designed by you 😂 And the PPF thing out here is a sure scam ! Amazing content that helps each time ! Long live Motorinc ❤
26:33 - ! I love the rain-visors too.. That's a very thoughtful addition. I love the one you get for the rear glass too. One which is available with the Honda City. Igtg basically blocks the sun for rear passengers.
Great podcast as usual. Quick feedback for the audio mixing, there were some sections where the audio was a bit robotic, not as clear as the previous podcast. But fundamentally, very good knowledge. Thank you so much for the things people don't talk about normally. Waiting for the next one!
Thankyou for these informative video. But, if you guys can add some pictures of the items which you are discussing, then that will be a helpful aspect to understand easily. Because, few of them which you discussed, I haven't heard of and I went through Google to get those understand.
Schumi, use the JK's Treel TPMS, its internal and cost is less than Sensory and they work absolutely fine. Have been using it on my 3 two wheelers and 1 car, and I will just recommend them eyes closed.
Waah. Glad to know that I went bare minimal with accessories. Mud flaps, reverse parking camera, seat covers from the dealer cause I had fabric seats and sun blinds for rear seat passengers for Tbone (Skoda Rapid). Radiator guard, tank protector, 12V USB socket and framesliders for Cyclotron (Ninja 1000SX). Absolutely no accessories for DarkKat (Pulsar 220F)
Shashank! Good to see you here! We don't think of it as a minimum. We think of them as solutions to problems that the OEM couldn't solve -- because of cost, personal preference, use pattern or whatever.
No music system is complete without subwoofer and as far as I know, even today most car's do not get one from factory. So that's one accessory which I definitely need in my car.
I like the leg guards for one reason - On tours, they provide a nice way to straighten legs on them for a few seconds. A boon for people with long legs who love sporty motorcycles. :D
Also, won't protection for Clutch brake levers help, given they are easy to break and one can't ride once they are broken? Esp for people who do any kind of off-roading.
Serious off-roaders carry spare levers anyway. And most levers today have a ball and a notch. So it’ll only break off the end most of the time, not the entire lever. For a hand guard to do a great job, you need more than bendy plastics. The best use an aluminium bar that gives it structure and therefore protection
As stated by others as well this is a gem of a podcast series, love the aspect of practicality and to the point arguments that you guys bring in as well. The "plumbing" line was hilarious! I had a query - what are your thoughts on radiator guard for bikes (for urban riding primarily), should I not worry about it or its a good to have. I see a lot of people have it installed on their bikes but I am not sure how important it is.
Motorcycle EDC/Tour carry: Carbonado 5L pack to have raincoats, puncture repair, tyre inflator, tools. Do not forget the Zip-ties! I personally find this a damn useful setup, just one additional thing to carry that straps onto the bike and adds nothing to your backpack. Credit to @ontwowheelsben for introducing this idea.
Talk about the dealer's upset! Right from the Insurance provider, to the 98D floor mats, to perfumes, to cake flavors. They wanna choose everything for you as if it's their purchase, and the moment you refuse even one tiny demand, they treat you like you're the worst parent to their *outer* greedy kid.
Absolutely amazing content guys. This is the third episode I am binge watching today. Just a suggestion, when you guys are mentioning some part of a car/bike that the general public may not be aware of like the rain cutter, can you please put up a photo of the same just in the corner. Would make it easier for some of us to understand.
Have you guys considered doing a podcast, not strictly vehicle related but stuff you've come across in your career, your travel, etc. Would be lovely to hear. Ofcourse motoinc is quite a new project so you guys must be pretty busy. But would be nice to see in future if you ever did 😋
19:50 I just bought a bmw g310r, I bought the zero dep insurance and skipped on crash guard, but everyone was giving me advice to buy the crash guard which costs 20k and that doesnt cover much of the bike itself thank u to reassuring that my choice was correct to avoid it and instead i am spending money on Mt thunder 4 sv helmets which are ece 22.06 certified
@@motorinc thanks, and yes i have allocated some money for it already, Already bought Rynox urbanx and MT thunder 4 helmet, and currently researching other gear too. Thanks again and have a great day
Great topic to discuss, i’m also a ‘underbody rust coating’ victim. Other than that my car is pretty much stock. I would like you guys to make a short video on things that needed to be done on a 5 year old car/motorcycle which never had any kind of exterior/interior or engine/mechanical treatment. suggestions on long term maintenance would be helpful, planning to keep them for another five years at least, any suggestions to get the charm back would be very much appreciated 😉
We asked Shumi (as an owner of minty-good old bikes). He said just ride them and do regular TLC. Not much else is needed. Most long-term maintenance (replace/repair) is in the schedule in your manual... not much more than is ever needed.
Hello sir, Ur Pod casts are the most comprehensive ones!! Period!, Can you please suggest a good place for "Detailing" my car and bike in Pune, coz most people are there just to fool you..
Another use for the window rain guards is that if you park your car in the sun you can roll your windows down just above the boundary of the rain guards and you'll have a bit cooler car to get in. I'm not sure it might just be in my head 😂😂. If you try it lemme know if it's true or just my head
Loving your passionate discussions - Two make a great combo , i really love and dont want to miss on anything. Guys you are too good and too different ( like RIVER INDI created a segment for itself) from rest of the crowd. You dont follow any template for the sake of it , you pin the purpose ... great going guys ..
Thanks for the info on the Fork dust cover, just ordered one set for my Speed400 although it is seems expensive hope no one steals it from my bike😂. Thanks again you guys just rock
Excellent stuff, as always; however, I request that you could keep these discussions up to 30 mins max. Because one must commit the 40+mins beforehand, and at times, I am saying "at times"; people will be a little reluctant to commit that much time. Just a suggestion; great work, guys. Kudos!!!
Thanks for the suggestion! We know the podcast length has crept up but so far, fyi, our feedback suggests the longer-please group is far more vocal than the shorter-please group 😊
I had never gone through a full episode of any podcast before today. Do add some visuals for specific things like rain guards and that plumbing pipes segment 😂😂 The engine guard segment was 💎💎💎
What a vow podcast .. I love the way yo make it very natural rather than forcing urself with contents .. by the way I can see the more came from bike point of view .. karthick yo can dedicate do a car accessories video since it can connect most people .. like what are the essential addons for insurance , what are other accessories can be done without tampering warranty , what are the cleaning materials to be bought to maintain the paint and car etc .. under body painting such a eye opener for me , I never did but many people forcing me to do .. I don get the logic I never seen cars getting rusted beneath the car after 2017 models ..
Who needs Netflix and Hotstar when we can have these two absolutely passionate automobile experts speak on camera 😇

Very true
Whose idea was it to giv shumi a makeover? Loooks super sharp!!!

From what Shumi told at IBW, MotorInc team has a call on his looks.
Never Knew I could watch a 45 min video for auto accessories without Forwarding. So smooth.
Went through 16 episodes and didn't even realise it. Gained so much knowledge from each episode, thank you MotorInc!
Glad to hear it!

Thank you so very much SVS! Glad you're liking the MotorInc experience!
Just to add somethings about automotive paints, as I have extensively worked in that area :
1) Smaller cars aren't rushed through the process, because if the paint remains same across models curing time remains same.
2) Usually the smaller budget cars have less coverage of paint, as in they skip painting all coats in interior areas like engine room, under the bonet etc that's how cost is balanced
3) In rare case the paint will be different across models because keeping separate paint would increase operation cost
4) And as you have inferred OEM's spend lot of thought process on coating design, whatever we get should be easily durable for a long period
Wow! Thank you so much! This helps!
so riddle me this why does my brand new xl6 have round scratches from washing even though I wash it on my own and regularly change the expensive micro fibre cloth?

Really insightful discussion and makes one really mindful when choosing accessories. Necessary mods once you get a bike
1.Tank pads and knee pads
2.Sliders
3.Adjustable brake and clutch levers if the stock ones aren’t right for you
4.Better visibility mirrors if the stock ones are crap
3 isn't necessary... but it is useful.

@@motorinc in my cb300r the aluminum comes off from the gear and brake levers. what do I do then?
Realised I know very less about motorcycles but hey I made the right upgrade choice, Gixxer 250 without plumbing. Great learnings! Thank you!
Right on! ♥️
I like the motorbike and car models kept on the table 😄
One thing, I guess floor mats on driver's side nowadays get a fixing points so that they don't roll
another, I have been saved from a major damage to my radiator on Dominar due to small leg guard, and I think it's a worth investment, as long as it does not extend to the whole bike😁
We don't think that's a leg guard! It _is_ a radiator guard!
Just get the frame sliders on expensive bikes..
1. 🤜🏽🤛🏽
2. 💯
That's wonderful insight about crash guards, I have never seen any one saying this before because the opinion always goes like"buy a bigger and better crash guard, spend a lot of money so you don't have to spend later.""
Also please make an episode each on break in period and more on accessories.
Can do Pratik!
Would love to see shumi and karthikeya talk about restorations and mods. Maybe even a guest on the podcast who does this? I am planning to restore a 2012 Karizma ZMR. I would love it more to mod it into a wall-e inspired neo cafe racer but the legality of restoring vs modding seems to be a very confused topic with bodyshops and garages alike.
nice idea
Great idea! Legal: All mods are illegal by law in India. The rules are both super clear and super tight on this.
@@motorinc As an advocate, I can confirm.
Two genuine guys auto enthus - nice to see them discuss on one fond space. Few items that you guys discussed - I can relate to that. Thanks to my service guys as they explained the cost of parts and helped me see that no much difference - exactly what you explained.
Thanks for sharing! Glad we've helped!
Loved the podcast!
Please do add the topic of maintaining a motorcycle short & long term to the wishlist!
Can do! Thanks Chandan!
Cheers!
JB! Motorcycle touring was always about getting around with less! No two ways about it. Thanks for the suggestions!
You guy’s TOTALLY outdo yourselves with every episode. So glad to see both working your magic
Hullo! Thanks for that encouragement! ❤️
Just putting this out there, in case it helps people, or someone finds this interesting
P.S. - My personal take on the paint protection thing is that I like the stuff that I own to have marks that tell the story of what its been through, instead of looking like its been lovingly adored from afar in pristine condition. So, I personally agree with Kartikeya in that I will take care of stuff but "Naaah" on too much.
😋
Most force mitigators of all kinds do what you said -- spread some and absorb some. It's how crash structures in cars work too!
@@motorinc Absolutely! I just wanted to put this here in case it helps someone, because I've seen people feel that wearing protectors makes them invincible, where it can cause other situations, like Shumi mentioned in the video with the neck whiplash
Knee braces, to take my example, can cause bone damage in the legs, because they were trying to protect your ligaments. The medical opinion being that bone is easier to heal completely than ligaments
Love the example with car crash structures too!
I would like if you did a podcast on Insurance itself. What kind to buy, how to use & bend the insurance to our benefits, the basic do's & don'ts
Can do!
Thanks
Can do!
That's right! When we mess with the body work, we do create problems!
You two have such a beautiful energy. Unparalleled enthusiasm. The knowledge, insights and wisdom you both bring to table is phenomenal. I love You Both So Much. Love all the way from Shimla.
Wow, thank you!
I don't have a bike, I am planning to get one! watching these two through all the episodes increases my knowledge!
The phase before you get a bike is a an exciting and a brilliant time! Enjoy it throughly! And ask for help if you need it... we are here!
Tank grips are on the way for my dominar it changes the way you grip the motorcycle thanks shumi for this episode. 🙌
Have fun! 🤜🏽🤛🏽

Thank you SK!
It was such a great time watching thisconnect, got to know alot regarding the logic behind this accessories 👍♥️

The way these folks talk the pitch they have, it just helps me to get good sleep. humble request ,please increase your podcast duration to couple of hours. Congrats for this new chapter and wishing you folks all the best. Thanks in advance for not playing any lame ear piercing background music. Cya folks.
Thanks for being here Aniket!
Can you do a podcast on driving/riding in Indian Traffic and the frustrations associated with it ? 🚦😭
Can do!
It's very very difficult, nearly impossible to trap your foot under a bike even if you don't have a leg guard.
@@motorinc Sir, with due respect, this sounds so much counter intuitive. Please elaborate more on needlessness of leg guard.
21:15 : Glad that before watching this itself I had thrown the leg guards :) Trust me it becomes more nimble in Traffic as well as looks good in aesthetics too!
'First' bol deta hu, kya pata Shumi aur Singhee apna secondary riding gear mujhe daan kar dein 🤐
Nice try bro. Bahut respectable attempt hai 🤣
The large rear view mirrors mentioned at 31:06 are helpful for a larger view of the car. You can even see out of rear passangers window from them. For SUVs, I think they improve the car's rear vision. For sedans or low slung hatchbacks, they are a pain because they block your sight of view.
Shumi's look never changes. Karthikeya's looks never stays same 😂 .
🤣
You guys are purely honest about everything you discuss..love it... Just want to add on if it makes sense... People with bikes more 650cc in India are well within lakhs but there are people who hover around below 650 cc and do unnecessary accessory add on for which there has to be a separate podcast from thier POV as to whether it's necessary or just a show off accessory.. just an input.... Hope it reaches to the ears... Make a great day ahead..
It's true! In a future episode then!
Hey, thanks for making these videos. The podcasts are really insightful and informative. We need more of this in our Indian automotive community.
Glad you like them! ❤️
Next podcast has to be about how shumi lost weight and how Kartikeya is doing so now. Both look sharp, particularly shumi. Great podcast, please do cover the riding gear, one by one, like helmet jacket etc, what has to be seen to be bought for any noob who buys a motorcycle.
Great suggestion! Stay tuned!
@@motorinc you have a point
@@motorinc Could Kiran have prevented this accident? Or Prevented oncoming argument? What alternatives could have been exercised?
The rule book says every mod is illegal.

This is great
Thanks SA!
So much clarity and passion. Thanks guys. Keep them coming.
❤️ Thank you 🙏🏽🖖🏽
I lost Shumi when he said leg guards are worthless. It has saved my legs on my little commuter bike, from minor crasher with autos, cars, poles and what not, that really feels like a must with every bike, at least at city speeds.
I did get the ‘machined’ engine oil cap and brake-fluid lid from RE coz they were pretty inexpensive and looked cool 😄
On the topic of crash/leg guards - I think they are good to have coz
1) They help deflect smaller vehicles on impact - I had a enthusiastic aunty on a scooty T-bone me but the massive ‘Avon’ leg guards on my father’s 1st gen Thunderbird deflected her to the side. Was funny coz there was an uncle who was instructing her as pillion and they crashed into a cow 😅 (all parties were unharmed)
2) They help the bike stay slightly propped up when it goes down so it’s easier to lift - maybe more relevant for off-roaders
Great content, as always. Enjoyed it thoroughly :)
Story 1 - hilarious! Thanks! Wish there was a video to go with it.
Been watching your videos! Big fan of the expertise and the flair of the hosts! Thank you guys for sharing this knowledge freely and with honesty!
Thanks a ton! We'll pass your compliments on to the team!

Now u both got a new haircut.....and thanks for this chanel...love u both...specially shumi..he acts just like some cool teacher....in my college...and katikeya is kind of a calm senior👍👍
Thanks Sayan! What a great description!
I can totally relate to Karthikeyan’s take on vaccum cleaner…
My 3 yr old son is big bhujia fan and I have to clean his baby seat n rear seat repeatedly to keep it bhujia free 😂😂
🤣🤣🤣 Kartikeya's a huge fan too!
In this conversation... Money saved in thousands & Money to be spent wisely... Thank you.
Underrated gem🫰🏾 of a YT channel...
Love these interactions. Keep the conversation flowing guys 👍🏽❤️
Sure! Get the Cruztools Digital Tyre Pressure Gauge from Big Bad Bikes. Shumi's been using his for years
19:00 When I bought my interceptor I fitted the smallest engine guard and a sump guard that RE offered, because big ones look ugly and leg guards don't really work.
It's easier to spend some cash in bike repairs than spending weeks in pain in addition to hospital and med. bills.
Last para on point. 💯
Would love to see exclusive podcasts for cars and bikes. It would probably just make it more contextual for specific audience
Once he showed me one of his creations😂
I literally asked him which car is this ? He was surprised and told me that how in a conversation i used to praise this car and i dont recognise it now.
I told him, the car i was a fan of, was designed by vw in germany, the one you have is designed by you 😂
And the PPF thing out here is a sure scam !
Amazing content that helps each time !
Long live Motorinc ❤
Ashes! It’s not just a design thing either! Most of these stupid leg guards aren’t even structurally designed to do A job!
It always feels like a brainstroming session for some reason! Very insightful.
😊
love the banter & very infromative but I wish the discussions around cars got as much time as the bikes
26:33 - ! I love the rain-visors too.. That's a very thoughtful addition. I love the one you get for the rear glass too. One which is available with the Honda City. Igtg basically blocks the sun for rear passengers.
The rear sun shade! That’s helpful in our summers.
Please do a podcast about how to navigate routes while riding solo on highways with and without mobile phones holders.
Can do!
Great podcast as usual. Quick feedback for the audio mixing, there were some sections where the audio was a bit robotic, not as clear as the previous podcast. But fundamentally, very good knowledge. Thank you so much for the things people don't talk about normally.
Waiting for the next one!
Thanks for the tip! We’ll pass the feedback on
Thankyou for these informative video.
Great suggestion! Thanks KJ! Shumi says he's going to try and add that to his KTM
one thing I would like to add when you buy a new car suggest upgrade your car tire to better quality thread and grip
Shumi is like
Virat Kohli and CR7 of BIKES
Perfection in its own ❤
Always Love to hear u both ❤
What a HUGE compliment! Thank you!
This is good stuff! Sadly have to go back to work now hehe. But worth binge watching over the weekends
Glad it hit the spot! ♥️
❤️
Serious off-roaders carry spare levers anyway. And most levers today have a ball and a notch. So it’ll only break off the end most of the time, not the entire lever. For a hand guard to do a great job, you need more than bendy plastics. The best use an aluminium bar that gives it structure and therefore protection
Waiting for the runnin-in or break-in of a new motorcycle and bike episode of @thisconnect✌️
😂💯❤️🤙🏽
As stated by others as well this is a gem of a podcast series, love the aspect of practicality and to the point arguments that you guys bring in as well. The "plumbing" line was hilarious!
I had a query - what are your thoughts on radiator guard for bikes (for urban riding primarily), should I not worry about it or its a good to have. I see a lot of people have it installed on their bikes but I am not sure how important it is.
It's good to have. Indian roads throw up stuff all the time and we'd rather have on than deal with a damaged or holed radiator
thts why they have chapters on the video, there is a dedicated segmet regarding radiators. Pura dekh liya kro
🤣
Absolutely amazing content guys. This is the third episode I am binge watching today. Just a suggestion, when you guys are mentioning some part of a car/bike that the general public may not be aware of like the rain cutter, can you please put up a photo of the same just in the corner. Would make it easier for some of us to understand.
Thank you, Kaushik! We'll work on that suggestion.
Congratulations on getting a new bike! Please remember to add a riding jacket, pants, boots and gloves to your shopping list.
@@motorinc thanks, and yes i have allocated some money for it already, Already bought Rynox urbanx and MT thunder 4 helmet, and currently researching other gear too.

Thanks! Let us see what we can dig up
Another use for the window rain guards is that if you park your car in the sun you can roll your windows down just above the boundary of the rain guards and you'll have a bit cooler car to get in. I'm not sure it might just be in my head 😂😂. If you try it lemme know if it's true or just my head
Loving your passionate discussions - Two make a great combo , i really love and dont want to miss on anything. Thanks for the info on the Fork dust cover, just ordered one set for my Speed400 although it is seems expensive hope no one steals it from my bike😂. Thanks again you guys just rock
Glad to help!

I don get the logic I never seen cars getting rusted beneath the car after 2017 models ..
