One word - AWESOME to describe this project. Apart from that, Brian Stoner, you and your children will; years down the track look back at this project with fond memories. Also be glad and grateful that all of you spent quality time together which can never be repeated. Good on you all.
WHAT A " WAY COOL" FATHER ! These children are having the time of their lives helping build this AWESOME toy, and they are building a "mountain" of self esteem that will serve them well their entire life. GOOD ON YOU DAD !
Couldn't have put it any better. I agree with Fireman Fritz. So cool for children to have a dad this talented and watching his kids see the whole project come to life. What an inspiration to all of us. Super track design! and great video.
And when it breaks they're going to fix it. Imagine all the little lessons in repair. I'm a carpenter and started out fiddling with slot cars and 049 cox airplanes long ago. Was fixing things before I ever saw a wood shop. Solder nails and epoxy sort of gets in your blood.
Rock solid way to raise kids right here come up with a plan and see it through. While some might just see a toy it is so much more than that. Time spent with your kids is never wasted!
this is nothing short of amazing. just a few saturday mornings with the kids helping out and you're done!!! no really, i can't imagine how much prep time this took. i'd love to see a second youtube video: "the making of CUSTOM MADE SLOT CAR TRACK BUILDING. MOUNTAIN ROAD COURSE". for all of us want-to-bees, we would eat it up. bravo!!!!
That’s awesome that you were able to include the children in such a wonderful project . I used to make dioramas all the time for my HO tracks . Next house is a basement and garage, the build will be on.
Coolest, best slot car track I've ever seen!! Hat's off to you Brian for including your family. It's time spent with you that they'll probably never forget... Fun to watch. Blessings to you and yours!
Awesome job Brian. I just set up a SCX analog track 36 feet. Takes up more space than I thought it would but oh well. The track stays in the living room till I can come up with a better idea.
By far the most enjoyable track building post I've seen so far!.. The work in the track and the layout is fantastic. Best part for me is seeing the kids involved and the pleasure they had performing their elven duties.. Thanks alot for sharing!
+Virtual SlotCars Thanks for watching and commenting, I check out "Virtual Slotcars" very cool if you look at my channel to can see another track build that is more like a proper race track.
I was into 1/32 scale 50 years ago :-) We learned so many skills at young age from building bodies and chassis from bits of plastic and various metals that we fabricated into finished racers. Hardly anything was ''out of the box'' except the controllers.
The trees are made by dipping a piece of tie wire in glue then put individual pieces of moss on. It takes me about 1hr to build 10 trees so it is a good project for a rainy day. The track has about 130 trees so far, it needs about 500. Cheers, Brian.
This looks amazing! You are a very skilled model maker and an awesome parent for sharing this cool hobby with your children. I hope someday I’m lucky enough to have enough space for something like this in my home.
Woohoo! That's a very nice layout, the unequal lane widths give more realism to the racing. Hey! A cheap labour force! Well, cheapish. But I like the way you kept the light colour of the track surface, it makes the whole room easier on the eye. Good job you guys!
Excellent ! Really nice work. Those kids were having a ball making it too,and that's gotta be good for them in all kinds of ways.Thank you for posting this.
Incredible ! Projects like this are a lot harder to do than most think. The amount of detail alone is just so damn cool. The kids helped and did a great job !
Just awesome ,when i read custom made track,i didn't expect to to see that you actually built 100% of the track,no push together plastic tracks ,that makes it so good where the lanes get close together for a little bump an nudge an possible wipe out im very impressed, have only seen another total custom where you could make the cars slot pin longer an car could not come of track it would spin full 360 or more an you could keep racing was great for children,,,you an the ales should be proud an have many years of fun ahead an so will anyone else an if sold them aswell
WOW! FANTASTIC! Good video, great job building the track, and including the kids...Just can't say enough! Fabulous job! Great track! Wish I had the room to do something like this. My kids are older, but they would love doing something like this! Fantastic! 246 dislikes? LOOSERS! Keep up the great work!
what a great dad you are, involving the kids. Track looks awesome. Bet Mrs Stone is happy about it all! One thing though. .. how can anyone give thumbs down? Jealousy or just morons
A really cool set up, its the best way with slot cars is to have it fixed down, if your lucky enough to have the space, anyway a great time can be had with a few tinnies and some mates or the family, well done
Te FELICITO por tu excelente trabajo y lo ´mas importante que hayas involucrado a tus hijos en tu proyecto lo que nunca olvidaran en toda su vida!!!! SALUDOS DESDE MÉXICO!!!!
After watching tons of tracks on here, i always like this one. great use of space, a relatively short track with loads of sport and interest. Hope you are well .. 2020!!!
Awesome track man.I love the lines of it. It has a very real look to it.It looks less like a "Slot track" and more like a scale diorama. Really cool!!!.I bet you could get some very realistic photos while racing.
I had a mate build a track in the late 70s, he managed to get hold of some refrigerator filler in a can, cos his dad sold fridges. Anyway this filler made excellent mountains. These days you can buy builders filler in aerosols I bet that would make some nice mountains
We still have a slot car place near me and every year since I was 5 my dad and I go for a couple of hours and even after all these years he still beats me lol.. I really do believe that slot cars will come back into popularity and with newer and much faster cars. Thanks for sharing this with us 🙏
Incredible Job!.... Always wanted to do a slot Car with my 3 Sons. Would look Sharp with some Ho scale Pines around the Track and an Industrial Plant in the Center of it.....Nice !!!!!!
One big happy STONER family! (Meant that in a VERY GOOD way!) Cool work DAD! For my dad and I it was fussball! All my relatives are German. So, that's what we did. This is super fun! Your kids are very lucky! Keep up the GREAT work!
The copper comes from stained glass supply store, it has an adhesive backing, just peel and stick. There is a tool from oldslotracer that lays it down perfectly, he also sells a router guide to cut the 1/8" slot. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Brian.
Beautiful work! Great helpers, too. The time spent on the scenery was worth it. It really adds interest and feeling to the course. Love the eagles' nest!
That's so awesome man. That must have taken a lot of time .... great job and that mdf board is pretty costly when a mistake happens!!! I don't even play with these but this video caught my eye and I had to watch it.
Hey Paulie come visit and race, lots of room in the dog house I had to do a bit of a reno since the slot car track build to make room for me and the dog, and, oh yah, bring that plane with you as well. Leave the plastic toy at home. Cheers Mate.
Thanks for watching and commenting, I truly am the lucky one not only did my wife like it she happily put this video together.
Great vid and cool track You were building more than a slot car track, you were building great memories for your children. Well done.
One word - AWESOME to describe this project. Apart from that, Brian Stoner, you and your children will; years down the track look back at this project with fond memories. Also be glad and grateful that all of you spent quality time together which can never be repeated. Good on you all.
Your children will remember building this together for their entire lives, well done !!
Thanks for the plug neighbour, can't wait to finish the hill climb track so we can race. video of the build will follow. Thanks Lloyd.
WHAT A " WAY COOL" FATHER !

I'll second that - great seeing the kids involved - of course, the BIG kids had to take over!!
250 idiots giving a thumbs down?
This is a fantastic Job! Lot of creativity I'm giving a 1000 👍
That is one of the most awesome things I've seen yet! Letting the kids be part of the building is just, well, "awesomer!"
Yes it is i would love to build one myself
this is nothing short of amazing. just a few saturday mornings with the kids helping out and you're done!!! no really, i can't imagine how much prep time this took. i'd love to see a second youtube video: "the making of CUSTOM MADE SLOT CAR TRACK BUILDING. Awesome, great family fun! Great to see the elves helping with the build.

What a great project , the boys were involved , and they will remember this for all their lives and relate this time to their father bonding.
Awesome job Brian. I just set up a SCX analog track 36 feet. Takes up more space than I thought it would but oh well. The track stays in the living room till I can come up with a better idea.
Great job on the layout. I especially like the elves you were able to scare up for a little help... That had to be a very enjoyable time.
By far the most enjoyable track building post I've seen so far!.. The work in the track and the layout is fantastic. Best part for me is seeing the kids involved and the pleasure they had performing their elven duties.. Thanks alot for sharing!
Very nice father and kids bonding and the race track takes it to a new level.Wow
What a great project, what a fun journey, and the result speaks for itself - fantastic. Thanks for sharing.

Great project! Your kids are fortunate to have you. The engineering, layout, and skill to execute is admirable.
Loved all the decorations pal. Would have loved to see the racetrack painted however to finish it off
Great when kids get to see what they are capable of building while having fun! Good job!

I had my kids helping me out with the trains the same way many years ago and now they are all grown up-----fun, fun, fun!
Excellent ! Really nice work. Those kids were having a ball making it too,and that's gotta be good for them in all kinds of ways.Thank you for posting this.

Well built, a very nice layout and the way you got the kids involved is brilliant.
nice just discovered my old passion for slot cars again, making plans to build one for me and the kids
I was unaware of the 'custom made' type of slot car track etc! Thanks for showing this..Well done too!
awesome that you got the kids involved
now you gotta paint a background on the wall behind the mountain
Fantastic family project. Congratulations.
I send this video to my gran childrens and I very excited for this after a lot of time.

...my dream comes true !!!! All I allways imagined is here !!!!!
Great track! I think it's nice how you got the kids involved too!
Nice. I like the fact that you can actually watch the cars go by......unlike the modern crap. Something all the stoners can appreciate.

I wish I had the space to build something like that!.. Looks Great!..
Awesome track. Great to see a father do this for his boys and have them help with the build. Why do people downthumb this? :-S
Incredible Job!.... Always wanted to do a slot Car with my 3 Sons. Would look Sharp with some Ho scale Pines around the Track and an Industrial Plant in the Center of it.....Nice !!!!!!
Your track is super cool. I wish i had space for a permanent track like yours.
One big happy STONER family! (Meant that in a VERY GOOD way!)
Cool work DAD! For my dad and I it was fussball! All my relatives are German.
So, that's what we did. This is super fun! Your kids are very lucky!
Keep up the GREAT work!
You're nuts. It's beautiful. Big huge Bravo
Nice work. It looks like a fun track.
Very well done. You children will have learned much just from the track build alone
like what exactly?
Some spots look tough to "marshall." Such a cool track. And I love the Gulf Colored car (Astin Martin perhaps.)
super génial tu très bon boulot et réalisation nickel avec de trés bonnes idées de montage
super montage vidéo
Great family project. My family also slot cars together!
Great stuff! Got my first Scalextric when I was 12, then joined a slot racing club with a plywood/copper track at 15. Who needs magnatraction???
Great looking track!
Great stuff, reminded me of the 80's when I was a sought after slot racer..
Fantastic, fantastic! Great job, looks stunning thanks for showing.
Really like your track, very cool! I have always wondered about building from scratch, thanks for the inspiration, maybe I'll give it a go!!
Beautiful ! Love the track getting close to cause decision
I remember back in the 60's when slot car racing was real big. The tracks were wide and and long. Sharp turns and long straight a way.
The copper comes from stained glass supply store, it has an adhesive backing, just peel and stick. There is a tool from oldslotracer that lays it down perfectly, he also sells a router guide to cut the 1/8" slot. Thanks for watching!
Cheers, Brian.
wow !!! custombuild!! thats a burner....awesome.

Too often people cite men for "being childish", but look how awesome it is to have a full grown "professional kid" for a Dad !
That's so awesome man. That must have taken a lot of time .... great job and that mdf board is pretty costly when a mistake happens!!! I don't even play with these but this video caught my eye and I had to watch it.

Kids involved, much respect there.
good job! I´d like to drive it!
Awesome work ... congratulations!!!
great track - the mountains look real, 'many fun hours ahead, uh?
After 7 years.
It is still working and being used
Has a pile of boxes with junk and a thick layer of dust on it
Or got ripped out a few years back.
Love the track, I'd sure hate to be the marshall for the squeeze hairpin turn.
Hey Paulie come visit and race, lots of room in the dog house I had to do a bit of a reno since the slot car track build to make room for me and the dog, and, oh yah, bring that plane with you as well. Leave the plastic toy at home.
Cheers Mate.
Brilliant job well done, nice you got the kids involved, do you let then play on it? ha ha
One word: Absolutelyamazingspectacularandfantastic.
