  • I spent 3 nights in one of Istanbul's modern hotels located on the Asian side of the city. This property is right next to a metro station (Maltepe) which makes it accessible from any part of Istanbul. The hotel has a huge pool with a bar plus another pool at the gym area. They also have sauna, steam room, and a facility for massage which I took advantage of. The restaurant offers a full variety of dishes from western, to Turkish, to Asian. If you are from East or Southeast Asia I would suggest to stick with their grilled meats and wok options like fried noodles at the restaurant. The lentil soup is a must try though! The suite room was ok with wonderful views of both the sea and the city. Everyone including the staff at the reception was so professional and spoke good English. I would definitely stay here again if given a chance. :)

Update, stayed there a few weeks ago, not sure I would recommend for the price. The food and service was incredibly disappointing and reception were no help for the basic of things (and quite rude at times), I may have stayed in the older version of the hotel but it desperately needs an update. My memory foam pillow smelt bad, had to request the pillow be changed a few times before it was done (sad) and had to ask for sheets and bed to be changed etc. I wouldn't say it is a 5 star hotel and would recommend to stay elsewhere but I did like the view and how they make the reception look. No one was in the swimming pool as you have to pay to get a swimming cap in order to use! Personally, it doesn't match up to the 'perceived' grandeur. Thank you for sharing this video though it helped calm my nerves

would have to agree on the food at the restaurant… only a few of the offerings were a hit while most were a miss! never tried swimming in the pool so I didn’t know you’d need to pay for a swimming cap! sorry you did not enjoy your stay but next time maybe try going to the Aegean coast of Turkey like to Bodrum or Antalya I’m sure you will find better hotels there :)

Yes I saw some small grocery shops not far from the hotel and I believe there's a nearby supermarket too just around the corner. :) @@vickyj9805

@@HarlyMarcuap You are a star! thank you so much for your help :) I'm quite nervous travelling here but you are reassuring me. Last question - did you bring a revoult or monzo card or use your own card? or take only cash with you? and did you exchange when there to buy food? Thanks a million xx

Hi! I use my own mastercard/visa card when paying bigger establishments like hotels, restaurants, however I use Turkish Lira when paying for street food, entrance tickets, and other smaller items. I suggest you exchange some of your currency to lira at the airport in Istanbul upon arrival. As for Burgu Arjaan, you can pay almost everything with card but of course spare some cash so you could tip the hotel attendants. :) @@vickyj9805
