    This is a really good video, just bought an XJR myself and doing welding underneath as we speak! Great pointers to these cars, thanks for making the time to do this video for us.

    Thanks for taking the time to create this, it is most useful. The XJR is on my bucket list and I am now feeling much more familiar with what I will likely be looking at if I ever get the chance to own one.

    7:52 The seal around the engine bay facing the windshield (the one at the right side of the image) also has a bad rust problem.
    The mettal edge it sits on sometimes rotts of completely before you even see it.

    Pity "Biggles" is mute. A commentary always makes for a better video.

    Hello mate I was wondering if your sills are still original or has it been any welding done to the underbody?

    • @Biggles
      @Biggles  ปีที่แล้ว

      On this car the inner and outer sills were original and serviceable, but the front part of the floors needed welding.

    I dont understand where exacly the comes into the cabin, I have the same issue

      If you meant where does the water get into the cabin, there are a few possibilities. First question would be, do you have a sunroof?

    • @carbonbox2338
      @carbonbox2338 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Biggles Yeah, but I dont think it is an issue.

      @@carbonbox2338 It’s a process of elimination. I would be looking carefully at the front bulkhead for rot, under the scuttle trim just in front of the windscreen, door seals, drain on cabin air blower box and the seals around the unit, holes in the chassis behind the front wings, blocked drain points throughout the car, air conditioning condensate pipe leaks, leaks around the windscreen itself. Heater matrix leaks. There is a lot to check if you have proven the sunroof doesn’t leak.
