I think this is a really good looking car, I can’t believe Ford is pulling these out of the United States. They would at least sell a lot of them to rental companies.
Oh no that's such a shame. I definitely think it would be a great car to have in the states however I can imagine that maybe the general population prefer a bigger car? This could be the reason but I really don't know being honest. Thanks for watching. Dave

Hi Gerry, I'm glad you stumbled upon the review. Thank you for the feedback too. Apologies I didn't go further into how it handles and the gearbox etc.. The 8 speed box is very smooth and seamless in gear changes, however the diesel engine is definitely not as smooth as the infamous TDI engine that's fitted to the german competitors. On the flip side the handling and brakes are actually more responsive than a golf which is interesting. Hope this helps a bit more and I'll try get my hands on a 3008 in the near future. Thanks again. Dave

If I'm not mistaken the ST3 is the top of the range in the Focus range leaving out the RS. We have the 2016 ST3 an imo it's a better looking car as just don't like the style of the new focus. I do think having a bigger boot is great as that's the only gripe we have with our car. But best of luck with your show as nice to see Irish car reviews.
Thanks Ian. Yes I think you're correct the ST's are usually top of the line (including the RS). However the new ST isn't out yet. Saying that there is an ST line available and in my opinion appeals to a different car buyer than the Vignale as it has lower stiffer suspension and a few other differences to give it a sportier ride. Thanks for the feedback and input. Hopefully more reviews from Irish roads coming soon :) Dave
Yes and no, the old CC and the current ST cars generally mirror the standard cars in specifications. The ST1/CC1 would be a Style/Sport, CC2/ST2 a Zetec and CC3/ST3 a Titanium/Ghia/Vignale whichever is the range topper at the time.
Hi Billy I think you will find the ST styling is different than the other focus ranges bar the RS. . For instance the generation 3 2016 focus st we have is easily noticeable compared to the top of the range standard focus. If you look at the rear for instance the exhaust box on a St is totally different one to a standard focus even the position is different. The front is more sporty looking. Bucket seats are standard on the ST range not on the focus range. As for your comment on the CC that's a totally different car an no way resembles an St the focus Cc is a convertible an only came in generation 2 focus not seen a gen 3 focus cc. Ford's sport range are the RS (rally sport) an ST (sport technologies ). Imo the ST range is a better looking than car the standard focus range. Yes the ride will be tougher but that a compromise we were willing to take to having a nicer looking car.

Mud car park, mud on carpets, on feet, on suit cases...my ocd is in overdrive......nice review but nothing about refinement or how the diesel is to drive etc.

Very valid point Gerry. I would be inclined to agree. The reason most of us test the higher spec versions is because the dealers/ manufactures who supply the cars usually give us the highest spec possible to make the car come across the best that it can. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for watching. Dave
it's a shame they couldn't make the 2012 focus better, they had dodgy Automatic transmissions and the steering rack in mine had to be replaced after just 58,000 kilometers, cheaply made cars with too much plastic crap under the hood. they are not designed to last too long.
I would absolutely love too but unfortunately we cant buy them in Ireland so I don't think we'll be able to get our hands on one. Thanks for the suggestion though :)
Do not buy this car this car is so poorly designed I bought this car brand new after 6 months after having it the transmission started rattling and hesitating what's CVT Transmission in these cars is a piece of shit. Ford CVT transmissions not going to last you if you want a good car in a CVT transmission go with Toyota Or Honda. In 5 years I bet you you don't see no old Ford Focus on the Highway cuz they're all going to be tor off to hell

@@DoneDealMotor Just seems to me that the shutter speed was set too high. Might be worth a look.
Good review, but I'd would buy a two or three year old 3 or 5 series BMW than spending 33 grand on a ford focus.
Thank you. And that's a great point. It goes back to that old argument of new vs old and getting more bang for your buck in the second hand market, but then the trade off being less, or even no warranty. I think it depends person to person what suits best.
Thanks for the comment.
Dave
tbh I'd put it up against a 2019 BMW and still get the st line x version
DaDy Community - which 2019 BMW are you talking about exactly? I have a 330i and the focus st line has absolutely nothing on the Beamer whatsoever
Which one is better. This one or the ST ?
I think the ST Line X looks way better. Sporty with the Red Calipers and Honeycomb Grill 👌🏻.
You get all the kit on the vignale, interior on st line x is very basic, no ambient, no football lights etc
..
No rear air condition?? Really disappointing for this trim level but otherwise its a good car
It's under the front seats so it still has it for the rear seat occupants, just hidden under the seats.
Why test such a posh expensive model?
Most people won't afford this.
Common problem with car reviews.
Very valid point Gerry. I would be inclined to agree. The reason most of us test the higher spec versions is because the dealers/ manufactures who supply the cars usually give us the highest spec possible to make the car come across the best that it can.
Hope that makes sense.
Thanks for watching.
Dave
expensive??? really??? it´s cheap for what it offer. The most expensive Vignale (Benzin, 182 PS. Automatic and ALL the extras) costs 38.000 €
Most of those cars in the top left could be a Focus - they all look the same. Non of them have the originality of the Mk1 Focus.
33k for a ford focus 🤭😂
Well it starts at 15k ...
@@polarlicht4758 no? XD it is way too expensive for a focus, even tho this one is really well made.
Buy 1 year old, 14k km. pricepoint 22k. Can't beat that. If you buy cars new youre a sucker anyway.
it's a shame they couldn't make the 2012 focus better, they had dodgy Automatic transmissions and the steering rack in mine had to be replaced after just 58,000 kilometers, cheaply made cars with too much plastic crap under the hood. they are not designed to last too long.
Do a Dodge Challenger
I would absolutely love too but unfortunately we cant buy them in Ireland so I don't think we'll be able to get our hands on one.
Thanks for the suggestion though :)
SAT NAV ON PHONE LEGAL!!!!
Thinking of buying an ecoboost? Read Facebook 'ford ecoboost nightmare' before you do.
You're my new favorite car channel next to carwow :) great work, you're really likeable. Also, has anyone ever told you you look like Zac Efron lol
