I must say Phil is a lot more lucid here, but I don't judge him. He had a rough life. I'm just glad he's still around and kickin'. I will say he's a lot more charismatic now. Back then he was like a kid. Now he's like a wise prophet of metal.

      *****
      haha - yep, pretty much.
Partying, to "party" is great - I highly recommend it, but does anyone really think if you mess around with heroin you , somehow, are the "lucky one" who is immune to the addiction? When you watch these old Pantera videos, it's Phil is a completely different person. It's a shame, had he not started with that shit & followed his own damn advice and "credo" (ala self strength, self discipline - I'm paraphrasing, but if you've listened to his lyrics, you know what I mean) - Pantera may never have broken up, and Darryl Abbot might still be alive, today. Can't really "blame" Phil for Darryl's death - that was solely the decision of a psycho, Nathan Gale - people are responsible for their own actions.
This isn't anything anyone hasn't said before....it's just a massive loss.
Pantera was one of those 1 in 1000 (maybe 1 in 10,000) kind of bands.......

In the 3rd grade, I tried to copy my big bro's Phil Anselmo Mohawk. After begging my mom nonstop, she reluctantly agreed. But sadly, it became the worst cut of my life. I'll explain:
..She started with my ears like usual by buzzing a 1.5in circle around them, but suddenly got upset & stopped, leaving everything else the same. The timing could NOT have been worse!!! Why?
Because Beavis n Butthead had just started airing on TV, becoming insanely popular. Guess which one I resembled🙈

I know people deal with much worse, but spinal injuries are extremely painful and debilitating! I’m glad Phil was able to kick the hard stuff!
