      Yup all over words that were misplaced. We all new Phil loved boxing an mma. Therefore when they got to bickering Phil said He could whoppem you no one on one. An then words got taken out of place. He never wished real harm. An after 1990 through 2004. That's 14 year's plus side projects. An thry needed a break an rehab lol

      They knew each other, not the same as being friends. Phil has even talked about the rift between punk and metal musicians. It was when the storm hit that Mike stayed at Phil's house in New Orleans and they actually became more than just antiquated.

    • @kristinasativa
      @kristinasativa 6 ปีที่แล้ว +30

      Danimal300zx well when you are jumping all over, off high places. Whipping your neck. Straining your body and vocal cords for yrs. You end up in massive pain. Myself I always understood Phil's drug use. The show must go on. Back surgery takes you out for awhile. He was young. We all my questionable choices at some point in our younger years. With the rapid sucess of Pantera, they had to keep on keeping on. Hindsight is always 20/20.
      Jeez, every full moon Im up all night reliving my favorite times, when I was young, er.

    These were the dark days of Pantera and they played some of the most vitriolic shows during this period. 1990-1994- fun Pantera

    2000-2001- The End of an Era

      dude's right, though. Philip's major back injury and resulting self-medication (aka heroin) slowly and single-handedly disintegrated Pantera and the music world unfortunately got to watch it in real time. without knowing anything about *why* he turned to such heavy drugs.
      the only thing that could have kept the disintegration from happening was if PHA had never injured his spine.

    you can see that phil has matured more nowadays then he was back then. back then he seemed to be very prideful, for no good reason, nowadays he seems like a very calm, collective man who has learned from his mistakes... very sad that it took darrell's death to make him realize it.

    • @OcarinaofKillingTime
      @OcarinaofKillingTime 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      CPapadakis Not at all, except the small bit about wishing Dimebag harm in a magazine interview, but that's not why Dimebag was shot, that was obviously a psycho. Still, the death isn't Phil's fault. Doesn't mean Phil didn't hold the band and the Abbot brother's source income hostage, which is what Phil has since appologized for. I wish Vinny wuold forgive him, but yeah, it is what it is.
      I don't think anyone rational blames Phil for the death, they blame fill for other reasons, which again, he has apologized for and I think everyone deserves a second chance.
      This is just a Vinny thing now, even Darrel's GF accepted Phil's apology...there's no story here anymore.

      MrBarelylethal "He would attack me, vocally. And just knowing that he was so much smaller than me I could kill him like a fuckin' piece of vapor, you know, he would turn into vapor - his chin would, at least, if I fuckin' smacked it. And he knows that. The world should know that. So physically, of course, he deserves to be beaten severely." ~Phil
      This is what Phil said to the reporter (which was supposed to be off the record I might add). Interpret this how you will, but I'm pretty sure that he did not wish for anybody else, but himself to hurt Dimebag. He definitely did not wish that somebody would kill him.

    Pantera started to break down by 1995-1997. Even still though, looking at the live shows from that era, the band was still killer. Granted it was a shame seeing Phil stoned out 90% on live footage from about 1995-2001.
