    I've had mine for about a year now. Im thinking about making my tank brackish now. I think it's better for them the older they get, Mine seems very healthy still though. -Neal

    Loved the update, my two are going great too. The eel that people confuse with the freshwater moray is the gymnothorax tile.. it's brackish :)

      Yeah Gymnothorax tile, or the Indian mud moray is a great addition to a brackish tank! They are calm and mine eats shrimp and squid right out of my hand. Highly recommend them to anybody with a brackish tank

    Hello my friend, I'm in love with Lily. Back in the late 1980s, I bought a "freshwater moray eel" Gymnothorax tile, also known as "snowflake" or "Indian mud" moray. He was about 12" (30 cm) long, his name was Dave. He was in my 100 gallon (400 litre) "main" tank. Each year, I would trade in my big South American cichlids, clown knivs and silver arowana into the local shop that dealt in big tanks, and I'd pick up a handful of juveile cichlds, a couple of clown knives and a baby arowana. Red terror, green terror, Jaguar, Texas, they were my faves. In a year, they'd be around 12 inches (30 cm), the arowana would be over 2 feet (60 cm). And then I'd use the store credit I got from trading them in, and I'd buy something ridiculously expensive and exotic. Dave did great in that tank, all I ever saw him eat was live feeder goldfish. I had several critters in there who only ate live, so every Saturday was feeding time, I'd get huge amounts of feeders and crickets, and it was a frenzy! Dave would come out of his tube as soon as the peacock bass hit the first feeder. He'd come straight to the front corner of the tank, just in time for the first goldies trying to get away, and he would nail one every time! He'd take it straight back to his cave, gold tail sticking out of his mouth. I loved him, so did my friends. Often a small crowd would show up Saturday morning in anticipation of the frenzy, Dave was the mellowest, but he always scored. I had him for about 5 years, and then I moved him to his own tank, where he found a small hole in the top. The next morning, he was an "S" shape, all dried out, stuck to my carpet. RIP, Dave. Then I switched to salt water for a couple years, then got out in the early 2000s. Well, Lily and your channel have inspired me to give it another go! I'm getting back in, with the goal of having a 150 gal. tank with a tiger and a snowflake morays, and a couple American eels. And I will feed them much more than a goldfish each week!

      @ScoobzNPetz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow thank you for sharing your story, Dave sounds so cool. Sorry to hear how he passed, it must’ve been devastating. RIP Dave. Also I’m honoured that my channel and Lily inspired you to get back into the hobby! Good luck my friend and please keep me updated!

    Just bought mine home today total impulse buy it's about 10 inches super cool hoping to keep it freshwater for a while what's your thoughts that's the most confusing thing is to go brackish or not

    • @ScoobzNPetz
      @ScoobzNPetz  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve had mine in freshwater for over a year now and she’s been fine 😁 the tiger moray is the only true freshwater moray as far as I’m aware, there’s the Indian mud moray that looks similar which is brackish but if you have the tiger moray then you should be fine with just freshwater
