I'm 6 months late telling you this (I just came across your video) but I just wanted to say that the reason you were seeing a save file on your new cartridge was because the people (or person) who made that had to test the cartridge to make sure not only that the game started up fine but that it also saved like it was supposed to.
It was the same case for my reproduction of the blue version. Also, thank you for the link to the green version you picked up. Cheers.

I knew Green existed because it was the version my parents bought me back in 99, where I saw it at a novelty shop, saw the packaging, but didn't realize it was japanese only (because I was a kid, so to me, it wasn't something I paid attention too). This in turn led me to realize that Pokemon wasn't just an english franchise, and also made it to where my first official pokemon game was Green.

So the versions are as follows:
      Green, Red and Blue (Japan)
      Red and Blue (International)
Blue actually is the third edition in this series, just like Crystal to Gold and Silver or Platinum with Diamond and Crystal
For whatever reason nowadays we internationally see Green as the "third secret lost edition" but it actually was the first one and Blue should actually be the third (later Yellow, also)
We see that in the remakes FireRed & LeafGreen and ask ourselves "Huh?... Shouldn't it rather be FireRed and WaterBlue/SeeBlue or something?"
No, because Red and Green are the actual original first double-editions of Japan, Blue was just a bonus version but internationally nowadays we weirdly have Red and BLUE and see GREEN as a third "lost" version instead of the FIRST, how it was intended
Also, pretaining the "Lavander Tower creepypasta"
Most of the videos on YT containing the music are fake or from later versions such as Red and Blue alpha versions, FR & LF or even Gold/Silver
The "self-deleting-inducing music" although, can actually ONLY be found in this way in the ORIGINAL JAPANESE FIRST-EVER Green version of the Pokémon rpg-game-series, meaning if we talk about those games - the first ever Pokémon game so to say with the Red edition to which the third bonus version of the series Pokémon Blue Edition followed soon after, while internationally strangely the Green one was discontinued in favour of making Blue the second version next to Red

  • @Stumpfization
    @Stumpfization 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Pretty sure this is actually the modded version of the western pokemon red/blue release, adding in the old sprites and so on.
There do exist translation mods for the original green online. Probably with those tho is, that these original Japanese games weren't designed to feature English letters. As Japanese uses signs, the max amount of symbols were (i think) 5 per pokemon name in a battle. So making a translation of this game ended up in all names and moves and so having to be shortened. So for a example Bulbasaur would have ended up being Bulba, because the max symbols allowed was 5.
If that is the case, it is most likely an actual translation of green. If not, and it shows the full names in a battle, it's a mod for red/blue.

  • @Nekomusu

    Explanation.
    Red🇯🇵 = Red🌐
    Green🇯🇵 = Blue🌐
    Blue🇯🇵 ≠ Blue🌐
We got Green🇯🇵 as Blue🌐, but we never got the original Blue🇯🇵. Hence why the remakes are called FireRed and LeafGreen.

@@OmniarchOfficial Hello excuse me, I'm new here in your TH-cam channel.
I have been looking for a very long time on a Pokemon Green version cassette that looks like the original. Unfortunately, such a Pokemon Green version did not look like the original.
One day I didn't want to look for it anymore and was quite disappointed. Then after the week I had searched Google Images and found a Pokemon Green version with a design packaging in Etsy Shop, in the article description it was written that the Pokemon Green version cassette should look like the original of the optical. I bought this Pokemon Green version for $ 60. When the game arrived home, I quickly checked the green game cartridge and it really looks like the original. With the Green Game Cassette, the wall to the contacts is closed, which is very good. I can send some pictures of what my Pokemon Green version cartridge looks like.
Now I have to try how I can find an old Pokemon Trainers Guide for Pokemon Blue Red and Green Version on eBay, I also need the little notes that are also in Pokemon Blue Version packaging. Then I need the Pokemon Green Version packaging, if I have that, then my Pokemon Green Version packaging is complete.

Oh my god I forgot I had this game.
I had always loved the Pokemon anime. So much that I'd start watching the millisecond it turned on. Because I liked it to much, my parents bought me a game boy, game boy advance, game boy color, and multiple games. Eventually, I started playing the games and quickly fell in love with them. Within these games, is an English version of Pokemon Green. I never even realized that it was Pokemon Green. I thought it just looked a bit different because it was released at a different time. I never knew I had it until I watched this video.

To answer the thumbnail: lmao no, it's not even remotely real. Is it a real in the sense that it's a physical cartridge? Yes. But otherwise no.
It's just a rom hack of Red/Blue that copies the graphics and stuff from Green over.
I gotta say, I love reproductions. Mostly. I don't appreciate when places try to make money on selling rom hacks and fan-translations without permission from the person that made those hacks. Which happens way too often. But I like the general idea of them. If I didn't already have emulators on everything, and if I didn't already have flash carts...., and if I actually had a place to display them, I'd probably buy a set of Pokemon Gen 1 and 2 repros (including the Japanese versions, and an English Green), just to put on a shelf.
Also, funnily enough, the game he got isn't even the same version in the screenshots on the Amazon page. The main character on the title screen should be on the left, as he was in the real Green version. But he's on the right in this video, like he is in the normal English releases.

Looks like your games are fake too. You been Dooped. Wheres the Nintendo Quality seal? Since your RED YELLOW and BLUE are all the same case I would think these are not real.

Damn you. I was hoping this was proof my memory wasn't actually jacked up. I recall a childhood friend of mine had a genuine English copy of Green. I remember him telling me his parents went to Walmart and finally got him a copy of Pokemon. However, he didn't express this with excitement. Rather, he was distraught that they got him a third-rate version. It was green and had this lame flower monster on the front. I remember being taken aback by this statement and had him confirm with me that the game was truly green. I had never heard of such a thing. Nobody else owned this version, so he therefore believed it was lame or uncool. On multiple occasions he expressed his lament of owning this uncool version of the game. So I would console him by reinforcing the fact that because nobody had it, it was the cooler version to own.
We lived in a small town so I only knew like 6-8 kids around my age who played Pokemon. When we became aware of this unusual copy of the game, we all expressed excitement for him. We would compare notes from time to time and came to the conclusion that it wasn't really different in any way. I don't think any of us besides him really played more than a few minutes of his copy. Before too long, we stopped acknowledging the fact and just kept playing like normal. The next generations came out and we all just kinda forgot about the first gen. He was the first to fall off the series. Selling his copy at a garage sale. And since this was in a time before the internet was such a powerful tool for information we remained oblivious for years to come.
Since discovering this games alleged non-existence, I have reached out to him on multiple occasions regarding this topic. Each time, he was able to corroborate this story with me. Along with a few of my other childhood cohorts. Since I've never been able to find even a speck of viable proof, I have asked many on the web and in person if they have any memory of an English copy of Pokemon Green ever existing. Only one person has claimed memory of it. It was the brother of a co-worker and I was told indirectly through said co-worker. I never followed up on that and reached out to them either. So that doesn't really hold much proof.
Maybe one day, I will have a definitive answer. But probably not...

@@jsweetsgetsfitjoeysweet330 I mean, there is a good chance I've forgotten details over the years. Memory is a fickle thing and the mind has a tendency to try to fill in the blanks without realizing. My memory is that his parents purchased the game for him at Walmart. I could be wrong. Maybe they got it at a thrift store or yard sale. I have my doubts that they happened across a genuinely convincing reproduction cartridge in small town Nebraska in 1999. But then again, I know next to nothing about reproduced carts.
That was a perspective I never considered. Thank you for your insight! :)
