Hi I have some water buffalo on my farm but their pretty wild. Not aggressive but curious and wary of all people. Wondering if you have any tips on getting them to be more friendly
Low stress handling, frequent meets with the animals. Smaller paddocks, so you have to move them more often, also better for regenerating the land. Bring them their favourite snacks multiple times a week, they'll come around.
Thanks for your information! I have a couple questions: If you rotationally graze Buffalo, do they require access to a wallowing hole from every paddock? Or will they make do with a bare dust/mud bath? Also can you specify what breed of Water Buffalo you have on the farm? They look like River type but are there different breeds available in America? Italian, Romanian, Murrah? Thanks for any info, excited to see more from your channel👍🏻
they are river buffalo. Most swamp buffalo are almost same but river buffalo have a lot of varieties.these are hybrid of some indian and egyptian breeds.
Liked and subscribed. I will also share this video on backyard herds forum.
