KAPPA MALONG-MALONG

Kappa Malong-malong also called Sambi sa Malong, is a dance that originates from the Maranao tribes of Mindanao in the Philippines. The dance shows the many ways of wearing a malong, a simple tubular yet highly-functional piece of cloth. It is usually performed at special occasions like wedding, enthronement and other ceremonial occasions. Malong is useful because you can utilized it as coverings, such as blankets, mosquito nets, raincoats, and head gear for protection againts heat. Lastly, they show their culture with respect.
