I don't know why, but I'm more drawn to this version than the locking one. And that hot-rod red handle is calling my name! Thank you very much for putting this one on my radar!
Easily my most anticipated knife of the year, I had it pre-ordered as soon as it became available and it has not disappointed! I've always wanted them to do this to the pilar, because I just love the ergos so much
Got this myself. Centering was bang on but was tight to open. Really like the design. It's been in my pocket for about a week and even being in lockdown I'm not planning on replacing in my pocket with my 'home' knives. As you say the only let down is the pocket clip position although being a lefty probably doesn't impact me as much as if I were right handed. Good review as always.
Great video!💪🏻🇬🇧 lovely wee knife for sure! I also got 001! However bladed articles got 008 so I’m not entirely sure what the numbers represent on the packaging! Thanks for sharing and Keep up the great videos mate 👍🏻
Nice review! That finger recess on the blade - the sharp edge runs right up to the recess. Is there any danger of you cutting yourself on the corner of the recess? Your finger got mightily close a couple of times. For comparison, the Spyder has a rounded area at the edge of the recess.
I really like mine and the whole tip up/tip down thing has never really bothered me too much, but on this one the lanyard hole is effectively at the wrong end (and I do like my lanyards), which is a bit annoying, but that's my only gripe.
UK Legal Carry Knives No worries, it does bug me, I carry it in a pouch so the lanyard doesn’t get in the way, look forward to the review. Hope all is well mate. 😄
Tip down is totally fine, it's just my personal preference to carry tip up, I find the knife comes out of the pocket easier to deploy but for you it may be otherwise, Rick Hinderer for instance carries all of his tip down.
Great vid. Going in to my possible buys list. I’ve heard this pronounced so many different ways... pee-lar/ pillahh/ pilla.... pillar in Spanish apparently!? Or some kind of hair related medicine!? What would we do without google. Keep the vids coming. Many thanks
Would've bought this in an instant if it wasn't tip down carry only (and lack of the H). If you're going to make a knife for the modern market with a fixed clip, at least give it a tip up since that seems to be what the vast majority of people carries. Especially since the parent knife has a reversible clip.
Do you know if any second hand knife market place in the UK, used to use free ads but they blocked knives now, I have so many knives I want to sell lol
Great review, but not one I’ll be buying. Way too bright for UK carry. I know it’s street legal, but I’m just not in to justifying my existence to every Tom, Dick or Harry that comes along! I do like Vox designs though, and this would be great in a more subdued hue.
@@johnturner4559 in a word, yes! The time, money and effort required is hardly justified on a thirty quid knife when there are so many other options available either in the market or simply in my collection. Life’s too short!

Ordered this knife yesterday, great timing for this video.

Howdy do from across the pond. It's good that you have some semblance of EDC knives to use.

Great point, I'm annoyed I missed that, that'll be in the full review, cheers!

Any chance at a recommendation for a better washer? Do you know if it's the standard size washer for the Pilar?
I'm afraid I don't know since I no longer have the product, they were quite thick compared to your standard pb washer as I recall
Please could you explain why tip down carry isn't good? I can't get my head around why it might matter if it's up or down.

What knives you got? I’m in a market for one
I sell on Instagram but edgematters forums is likely the most effective place to go (a small yearly fee applies for the market but it is tiny)
@@UKLegalCarryKnives thanks man I'll check it out

ryan hurst was looking for something like the Spyderco UK Penknife if you have anything like that?
I love mine can’t see me carrying anything else for a while.

Just rit dye the scales if it’s that big of a problem?

@@slick_slicers I could agree with you there, however rit dye is extremely cheap and takes around 10-15 mins. Each to their own I guess!!
how thick is that blade, wtf
Tip down put me off will probably take it off completely if I do get one.
