Very nice condo indeed! Not too fancifully extravagant in terms of look, but definitely very pleasantly practical while still looking nice and neat. Oh my! As a realtor I have a unit same lay out as yours and it faces Andaman Sea and the facilies is the best in Penang and the complex is very well maintained.

Did you guys rent in straits quay or was it an Airbnb? We are looking for a place to rent long term in Penang. Wonder how much it is for rental (not Airbnb)
We are in Quayside Condominiums (next to Straits Quay). Quite a few airbnbs in the area, but the fact that you are looking long term will definitely give you more options. Rents vary wildly even within complexes depending on size/rooms/view, so talking to an agent will give you the most accurate prices, although sites like iproperty and propertyguru give you a pretty good idea.
Long term rental is lower cost of course. I think 600 to 800usd per month is normal in cities in malaysia for full facilities. Without pools or gym definitely lower rental because less maintenance is required.

The small national park is good for hiking too. The insect park entopia, the herbs garden etc etc
