This video and everything you said really resonated with me. Thank you for sharing, i really enjoyed it. I'm thinking of starting a 5-year journal in 2024. And similarly to you, I often write with the intention that one day, someone/my kids will sit and read the journal together when i am no longer here, and enjoy that time doing it. A bit morbid but beautiful at the same time. New subbie...x
I do keep an a6 5 year hobonichi journal. I have not used the right side as I intend to use it for 9 years. In case of disaster this is the journal I will grab. Yes, I am repeating stuff from my daily journal in a condensed(sometimes bullet point) manner, but it holds everything for the past four years and that is really important to me. I have a crap memory.
That was a great video. I don’t keep a five year journal but I think will get one when Sterling Ink comes out with one. I do journal in a regular notebook from Sterling, but not every day. I am retired and live a laid back quiet life now!
Hello Katie, Happy Holidays. Thank you for this informative video on you experience with your five year notebook. I decided to start one in 2024 and I already know which one I want. My question to you is about your cover, what kind is it and where did you find it? Thank you
Love your idea for a 5 year journal! ❤ I bought my 5 year journal in 2019 a Leuchtturm 1917 and I thought of throwing it out but then I decided to truly dedicate myself to it and restarted it in 2021 and I'll be finishing it in 2025. Some days are only going to 2024 on those I wrote into it in 2019😅 right now I started to keep other journals so my 5 year one is kinda becoming a chore but I want to finish it. 😂 I don't write into it daily anymore as I'm doing so in my BuJo but I use those entries to fill my 5 year journal. Like you. I can't wait to finish it! I love the idea of it being finished and thought of starting a new one but I don't think I will unless I give up something else. I have a notebook as my dairy that I also want to fill. It's leather bound and really beautiful. My current BuJo was also a notebook that I wanted to fill and collect as one of my BuJos. Is it weird that I see notebooks and want to fill them with certain information? With my current BuJo it truly was like "this has to be a BuJo, my BuJo!" is what I thought one and a half year ago, it's almost finished. ❤ It feels so awesome seeing it almost completed. ❤❤

I'd love it if my mother would do so. I'd even buy everything for her but I already know it would be empty and that would break my heart.

They're a lot of fun to keep! And sometimes on boring days I just write memories from other years I just want to remember

Unfortunately it's long sold out and the company that made it (Planners Anonymous) switched to doing much larger cut covers 😔
Great advice and insight.
Thank you! I'm glad you found it helpful!
I am getting a 5 year journal, where did you get that tree cover. I love it. Rachelle in Seattle
Hi Rachelle! Sadly the cover is long sold out 😔

Have they released them yet?
Not yet!
they did already. i bought mine today.
Is your PA cover an A5?
No, I have B6 covers (so far)
So much wasted paper.. you’d get five years if you started a new day Underneath last day
you wouldn't be able to easily compare entries of the same date between years though, which in my opinion is the appeal of the format.
