Hi Clark I have just spent the last many weeks watching your videos. I have learnt so much in this time and I came Thankyou enough for sharing your knowledge and wisdom. You’re an inspiration and legend. Will miss skunks contribution to your legacy. Thankyou again mate
Hard loss a working partner dog. It's great to share a few chapters with them thanks for the vids. From the Scotland/England border- collie country B-)
I look forward to the show every week Clark! We're on opposite sides of the world but cut from the same mold! You get to work some beautiful Country. Was so sorry to hear about Skunk my friend. Wade from South Carolina USA.
Thanks for the trapping school Clark. I think any one with a bit of go could take what you have shown here and get a start, the rest is up to the individual to better their game from there.
I love you're show. I'm a fellow trapper myself. Trappers always learn from other Trappers. Skunk will always be a Legand and for sure will be missed. I guess Brandon will have to step up to the plate for all the rest of the up and coming little Skunks. God Bless ❤
Mate. I lived in FNQ in the early, 90's ....wish the iNet worked then for advise from you on trapping wild dogs. You've taught me heaps, and I wasn't bad to start with. Cheers cobber 👍
Clark I love to watch you with your dogs I noticed the way you check your young dog and keep them all under YOUR command and they all love you for it Keep the good work up And look after your health. regards Neil
Morning Clark!!! Bittersweet, this video😢... Skunk will be missed by one and all, but having all the footage of your adventures with him will keep the future filled with incredible memories of what an amazing dog he was..🥰🥰 Safe travels, friend❤❤ Stay FROSTY... Keep your powder dry and your head on a swivel... 🇺🇲🇦🇮WWG1WGA🇺🇲🇦🇮NCSWIC🇺🇲🇦🇮
Those pegs are a great idea I saw some screw in tent pegs that had swiveling hooks on them might be a good addition looks much easier than the steel stakes I used to make and hammer in
14:18 Re Trapping School - perfectly put Sir. If anyone watching your vids can't workout what to do afterwards then they don't deserve to be thinking about it. I'm in the middle of Pom and we don't see many dingoes but I think I could still catch 1 using your logic🤣🤣🤣
Clark I reckon the “trapping school “ is in watching your videos. I think the way you explain the rationale in why you select certain spots pretty much explains it all. Forever missing the Skunk dog .
Is the hardest part of trapping having to put the animal to sleep, I imagine it would be especially as the dingoe is an amazing animal, also we the viewer’s appreciate the respect you give all animals mate, greetings from Mypolonga
My cow herding dog Jett (championship lines Australian shepherd) treed a raccoon this morning, he's becoming such a good predator/ varmint hunters' assistant. One time a few decades ago in British Columbia Canada I was walking down the edge of a paved 2 lane highway with my two younger sisters and I noticed two or more wolves stalking us. They stayed back a ways, probably because wolf hunting was allowed. The moron commies in the U.S. are re-locating wolves at a cost of millions of over-taxed taxpayers dollars per wolf. In fact a couple decades ago they were re-introduced into the Yellowstone Wyoming area at over $ 1 million cost per wolf.
Clark, coming from the bush, I have learnt a lot from watching your videos. You do a good video. I once said why don't you put a trap in a trough to a drag. I have scored 3 dogs in the last 6 months doing that. I all so use a orange pig screw anchor you get from the B shop
We had 2 brulgas visit our dam every year had a spot they made their nest because very friendly love dry food. Dug a little hole keep feeding them every year. Become very friendly you could walk to within 5 mtrs of them would not fly away replace their food. Such a majestic animal when mateing time
Years ago I worked on a pig farm over here in the U.K. and a young boar set on me flipping me arse over tit and getting stuck into my thigh and I was pinned and if it wasn’t for the farm managers Staffordshire bull terrier jumping in and distracting it I don’t know what the outcome would have been. So it was shot and still have today one of its tusks on my keyring and a nice big scar on my thigh! Great video Clark as always and good on ya skunk mate rest easy.
Loved your video. May I offer my two bob's worth? It about minimising human scent around a trap set. I always wear wellingtons with trouser legs tucked inside because most human scent that we leave behind originates from our legs. This minute particles of skin and hair which falls down inside our trouser legs. This is generated by friction of the trouser material and our skin. In addition, I "odorise" my boots with some local material that the dog would normally expect to find in that area. In cattle country this would obviously be cattle dung. Or use some local vegetation to rub on the boots. On top of that I would wear gloves - preferrable gauntlet gloves with the sleaves tucked in. Similarly, when out on the job, I never wear clothes or boots that have been inside a house. Always I keep my trapping gear in an outside shed.
@@ClarkMcGhiesWildCountry Good point and thankfully we never get to 40C here. I found it very effective when trapping red fox. The alterative I've used is a velcro strap around the bottom of the trouser leg in addition to rubbing some local vegetation on the boots.
Love your videos what breed are your dogs me and my mates hunt the orange NSW area looks like you have a lovely place to hunt the best fun you can have is catching pig's with your dogs keep up the good work with the videos

'Pothole' as a nick name made me chuckle. See AvE's mate 'Dewclaw' for similar term of endearment🤣

Have you trapped in 40C temps in rubber boots?
